The pool is made for kids for sure as it's not deep and the indoor playground is awesome for these cold winter overnight stays. Only downside to playground is that parents were allowing their kids to go to and from the pool (life jackets and all) to playground making slides and everything wet. Kids were slipping and falling and socks pants were getting wet from slides/floor. There were no 'do not disturb' signs to put on doors so housekeeping was knocking at 8am with checkout not being until 11am. I showered at 8am and had the water cranked all the way hot to only have a lukewarm shower. Those that showered after breakfast in our group had no warm water at all. Beds were great and sheets were super soft! Breakfast was typical holiday inn hot breakfast which is one reason we love holiday inn, so A+ to that! Would probably stay here again but would want to know if the water issue in shower was taken care of first.

Room was clean, but dated. None of the outside doors in the back of the hotel were locked. They had…read morekeycard slots, but didn't need them. Anyone can just walk in off the street. Conveniently located next to a gas station and a bar and grill (good wings). There was a McDonalds right across the street. However, all that aside, when we checked out it was a bad experience. This was September 3, 2020 (Covid protocols still in place). We were told at check-in that there was no breakfast served, but they would have a grab bag for us with breakfast items. We went to checkout in the morning and no grab bag...they had the breakfast area open and two other couples were inside the breakfast area... no social distancing at all. We grabbed a couple of granola bars and left. Coffee and hot water was available in four pots, which were communal and not sanitized between each customer. Went to the front counter to turn in our keys and saw this sign (see picture) saying no one was available at the front desk. So I went to slide my keycards under the plastic shield to leave them next to their computer and one card fell on the floor behind the desk (I didn't throw them... one card bounced out of the card holder). A young man (Taran) came from somewhere in the back of the counter area and said "That was not necessary!" I asked what wasn't necessary. He said "throwing the cards. no one was going to use your card to open your room." (He was implying I could have left them on the counter where anyone could have gotten to them...they had the room number written on the card holder.) I told him I wanted to make sure they were out of the way and tried to get them next to his computer. He was extremely annoyed which made me mad! I told him that that was lousy customer service, made sure I noted his name, took a picture of the sign saying no one was at the front desk, and left. (Note: when he walked from the outer office to the counter area, he was only right there the whole time...but I couldn't see him behind the wall. Why not stay behind the counter where you're supposed to be?!). I called corporate and made a complaint about the terrible customer service and the blatant disregard for adherence to Covid-19 protocols.

The room and building as a whole were very clean, no complaints there. The bed and sheets are comfortable, but the pillows are fairly flat. The water pressure in the shower is incredible, but the shower curtain doesn't block it all. So, we had a permanent wet spot on the carpet just outside the bathroom door. The AC unit was incredibly quiet, we would have had no problem leaving it on high all night. Finally, breakfast was better than most, it runs from 6-10am.

They did not give me my invoice when I checked out because a couple days later I check my email for the invoice and they tacked on up $150 deep cleaning fee that was pet related They cannot give me any reasons for so-called pet related deep cleaning and then they had to try and figure out other things to say that was just normal of anyone staying anywhere. They have to try and make up for it cuz no one stays there except them the less all the other rooms are booked all the other hotels are booked . I question him about it and they said oh well I did not flush the toilet or I peed on the side of the toilet if you come to this town the other hotels are 100% better it has a bad reputation throughout the community and I would recommend sleeping in your car or in the field with coyotes this place is 90% vacant the whole week I was there maybe even more because of this and I don't know how they can afford to even keep the lights on

Building & Rooms Lobby and breakfast area were clean and modern. As with most Hampton's there was a small snack shop with a good selection of hot and cold items. Breakfast was great with a variety of choices each morning. Pool was typical for the hotel size and located right next to the elevators. Pool area was clean with a rest room attached. Only concerns were the lack of a hot tub and a limited supply of towels next to the pool on both stays at the hotel. Room quality was excellent. The only issue experienced is that one of the rooms did not have a functional outlet/charger port next to the TV. Staff & Service Probably one of the friendliest staffs I've experienced at a Hampton in recent years. Staff were knowledgeable about the local area and happily provided recommendations. Other Thoughts Review based on two separate stays at this location.

I dealt mostly with Donna, who was very accommodating and helpful in a stressful time when she seemed to be the only person working. She managed to keep breakfast stocked (a typical eggs and sausage affair) as well as manage the desk. My room was nice and left little room for complaint. On that note, the internet was very slow at times but overall that was not an issue.

The (few) Negatives Price--I travel for a living and the $155/night price tag is steep for a small town hotel. For full transparency, I did book the same day. Still, this price tag is high. But clearly they can have this price and people still book. Staffing-- the same young lady who checked us in also was the bartender who served our drink in the bar. There was a bell that you could ring to get her to both locations. She had to rely on the bell as you could not see either location from the other. I felt sorry for her. Would for sure stay here again in spite of these few negatives. Was a nice experience.
