It was a decent size with a lily pads with a cargo rope above to assist. My kids loved the pool and didn't want to leave after being there for more than an hour. There was also a fire pit in the back but we didn't use it. The lobby had ice water and a selection of tea. The rooms, including the bathroom, seemed clean. The fridge didn't seem to be working right or maybe I had too many items in there. Check in and check out was okay.

It doesn't hurt that it's a bit off the man drag. So overall I would say pretty solid construction. The parking lot is generous with okay lighting, but the hotel is in a decent area so I wouldn't anticipate too many issues here. The girl working the desk was pleasant and helpful in pointing out nearby places to eat. The only real downside was the price. Almost $300 for a one night stay! I get that it's nice, but it's not the Ritz. My wallet says Ouch!!

We have now settled in on this StayBridge (not the one at the mall which we have tried in the past) as our 'go to' place to stay. For us the location is solid - can get to the highway and downtown easily. Ample parking even when the hotel is full (which it was for most of our week long stay). The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms, hallway and parking lot are all clean. The breakfast changes daily - always has an egg dish, a breakfast meat, carb choices (including you can make waffles), fruit, yogurt and juice, soda or coffee. The small exercise room is fine - 3 cardio machines plus dumbbells. The small pool looked fine (we didn't go in). The building is solid - so we didn't hear hallway traffic or the people aboe or below us. The price is appropriate. Biggest 'complaint' - the dishwasher had way too much rust in it - that should be reviewed and fixed )we were on a 2 bedroom suite). We have already booked our next stay!

A younger girl walked from a room in the back. I asked her about availability sense the other lady wuldn't even look at her computer. The younger one said that I needed to leave because I was already "helped." I tried to argue, but was told that the manager has the right to refuse service. I was vary upset. Conveniently located next to a gas station and a bar and grill (good wings). There was a McDonalds right across the street. However, all that aside, when we checked out it was a bad experience. This was September 3, 2020 (Covid protocols still in place). We were told at check-in that there was no breakfast served, but they would have a grab bag for us with breakfast items. We went to checkout in the morning and no grab bag...they had the breakfast area open and two other couples were inside the breakfast area... no social distancing at all. We grabbed a couple of granola bars and left. Coffee and hot water was available in four pots, which were communal and not sanitized between each customer. Went to the front counter to turn in our keys and saw this sign (see first picture) saying no one was available at the front desk. So I went to slide my keycards under the plastic shield to leave them next to their computer and one card fell on the floor behind the desk (I didn't throw them... one card bounced out of the card holder). A young man (Taran) came from somewhere in the back of the counter area and said "That was not necessary!" I asked what wasn't necessary. He said "throwing the cards. no one was going to use your card to open your room." (He was implying I could have left them on the counter where anyone could have gotten to them...they had the room number written on the card holder.) I told him I wanted to make sure they were out of the way and tried to get them next to his computer. He was extremely annoyed which made me mad! I told him that that was lousy customer service, made sure I noted his name, took a picture of the sign saying no one was at the front desk, and left. (Note: when he walked from the outer office to the counter area, he was only right there the whole time...but I couldn't see him behind the wall. Why not stay behind the counter where you're supposed to be?!). I called corporate and made a complaint about the terrible customer service and the blatant disregard for adherence to Covid-19 protocols.

Be sure to check your bill receipt first when you check out to make sure it's correct. My bill was supposed to be $133 dollars but they charged me $177! 1 Star - Worst hotel experience I've ever had…read more I would strongly advise anyone to avoid staying here. We had a confirmed extended stay reservation from March 27 through April 22. At check-in, there was confusion with our reservation, and we were told we could pay daily until the following Monday and then switch to weekly payments. The very next morning (March 28), we were told the hotel was sold out, that our room had been given to another guest, and that we had to leave immediately. We were also told we did NOT have a reservation anymore and that the only way to stay would be to pay for a full week on the spot. So we packed up and left as instructed. Later, we discovered our reservation was STILL ACTIVE under our name the entire time through April 22. When we eventually returned, they placed us back into the exact same room -- clearly because our reservation had never actually been canceled. The room had not been touched the entire time we were gone. The bed was still unmade, there were dishes left out, towels on the floor, and everything was exactly as we had left it. We had been forced to leave so suddenly that we didn't even have time to clean up or do dishes -- and it was obvious no one had entered or serviced the room at all during those 9 days. Because of their mistake, we were forced to scramble for last-minute accommodations during a time when nothing was available. We had to: - Pay hundreds per night for other hotels - Travel out of state just to find a place to stay - Leave a hotel due to unacceptable conditions - Sleep at a truck stop temporarily - Stay in an Airbnb where we literally slept on massage tables All of this could have been avoided if the hotel had handled our reservation correctly. It gets worse. While we were gone for 9 days -- and they apparently thought we were still checked in -- they never charged our card once. But as soon as we returned, they suddenly attempted to run our card multiple times without resolving anything. We also asked to speak with a manager, and no one ever came to talk to us. Now, after all of this, we are once again being told to leave. This has been a complete failure in management, communication, and basic customer service. We planned our entire stay around this extended stay hotel (including groceries and budgeting), and their mistakes caused significant financial loss and stress. We are now pursuing this through corporate, the Better Business Bureau, and our bank. Stay somewhere else. This place is completely disorganized and does not stand behind its reservations.

The Residence Inn is an older property and while it's seen cosmetic renovations it's clear that no major work has been done in years. Parking lot is small and cramped, but very well-lit, which is good peace of mind in this higher traffic area. Expect banged up walls, doors, patched ceilings and threadbare furniture and carpet. While the building is tired, the staff makes up for it in spades. Expect friendly and welcoming front desk and breakfast staff. They truly are the gem of this property. Given the overall decline of The Empire Mall, I wouldn't be surprised if this and the Fairfield across the parking lot close with the Marriott operator here prioritizing the newer (and more upmarket) Springhill Suites and Courtyard just to the North.
