While staying at this location, I woke up at 1:30am to the fire alarm after a sprinkler froze and burst. I was room 302 shown in the photo. This resulted in several belongings becoming damaged and me needing to go to a different hotel. Nobody from Hilton reached out with any sort of apology or to address my damaged items / additional hotel costs. Overall very poor customer service. At the time of this review, Hampton Inn removed my reward points for this stay and has not contacted me regarding my damaged personal items. read more

Mobile key worked. Pool and hot tub are adults only between 11pm and 5am! Free breakfast. Near a nice brewery, Granite City, and a Starbucks drive thru. The access here is exemplary. We parked near the door and I rolled in seamlessly. The check in was as easy as stating my name and producing my credit card. Our accessible room #13 was right by the breakfast area and near the main entry, which I enjoyed. The roll-in shower had a bath seat as well and grab bars. I'm surprised at the number of "accessible " rooms we've had that lacked these basic needs. I had to extra needs here. They also have eco friendly soap and lotion dispensers to save on the bars and bottles that create more rubbish. The room itself was well appointed as we have come to expect from Hampton. The property is civil and quiet. There's no way I would stay elsewhere in Sioux Falls. read more

Was in town for 2 nights, spent most of our time away from hotel at sporting event. 2nd and final morning while getting things packed to leave, I seen ants on and around the bathroom sink, wish I would have seen sooner. This is one of the better Hampton Inn's; however, my GPS could not find the exact location so it was difficult to get here for some reason. Once I arrived I was happy to see that it was within walking distance of a couple of restaurants, which is what I did a couple of nights. Staff was very friendly. The lobby was nice and modern (typical Hampton); rooms are same, typical Hampton--comfy, nicely decorated. Breakfast was limited for me as a vegan as I was able to have potatoes one morning and then wheat bread and a banana the other mornings. I would stay here again. read more

Ended up cutting our stay in half due to loudness of people above us who were jumping off the beds and landing on the floor until midnight, and back up again at 5am with the kids screaming at each other. The sounds carry way too much and we shouldn't be woken up due to people above us constantly. We called front office to request someone have them stop but it still continued. I stayed 2 nights here for the Sioux Falls Marathon. Digital check in for those who reserved early and they gave me the option to have the first floor and a room where I can leave and come back as I please. Plenty of options nearby some within walking distance. Menards, Target, and Hy-Vee are nearby. Airport and Sioux Falls Arena aren't too far away either I didn't experience outdoor noise at all so that was a plus. The accommodations were good. Pool with plenty of towels available so leave the one in your room for the showers. Breakfast bar has plenty of selection. Coffee is available all day with a variety of selections. read more

We have been on a month long road trip and are using Hampton Inns whenever possible. This hotel is right off the highway and near lots of places to eat and shop. Some within walking distance. Also just a short distance to Sightseeing and downtown. Lots of brewpubs to choice from. Our room had a smaller bathroom than most HI hotels we have experienced. Very clean, but less counter space at bathroom sink. The breakfast buffet was a little disappointing from our last stay which had healthier options in the bread and bagel department. Here they only allowed two waters for our three day stay (all others allowed water for each day of stay- even more if I asked. They do not allow late check out for silver members but check out is 12noon anyway. I love the digital (contactless) check in/out and being able to pick out your room. read more

Remodel room is nice. Wait until after COVID is gone. No mask required on property or social distancing measures taken. People from all over the country mingling inside, they must be from outer space and not know about taking precautions or don't care about other people. BEWARE - apparently, even if you are unable to make it to the hotel due to haphazard weather conditions you will still be charged. I was attempting to make it to my booking (booked same-day), but plows had been suspended on the highway. Not only was it still snowing with heavy wind causing my visibility to be next to nothing, there was such a thick layer of snow on the ground that I was unable to see the road itself. But yes, apparently I was a "no show" and now the hotel refuses to refund me. I did call as well as soon as I knew driving was a risk to my life, and I emailed this company that night. I've stayed at a lot of Hampton Inns because they generally provide a similar level of comfort, quality, value, etc. This one met many of those criteria, but there were some quirks that I really did not like. Cons: - There are powerful flood lamps just outside the windows to illuminate the building. Annoying to be blinded when you look outside. - No shear curtains are provided; just "Roman shades." This means that anyone outside can readily see into your room if you have the lights on. - Only small luggage carts provided. For me that meant having to deal with two carts. Annoying. Fortunately, almost all other Hampton Inns provide full size carts or both. - Goofy corner sink in bathroom, so there is virtually no counter space for your toiletries. - No place for a 2nd suitcase; they provided just one folding rack. Pros: - There is a small fridge and microwave. Not all Hampton Inns have this and I always seem to need both. read more

Nice clean hotel looks like it's been remodeled recently... you can have all the amenities and remodeled building but if your staff is rude and obnoxious it has a tendency to blur everything else. Our stay 1 September we were greeted at the front desk by a young man that thought he was the mask police. I understand people are on edge but I also understand you could have manners especially if you are the representative at the front desk. He was rude in regards to not asking but demanding that anyone that walks through the door must have on a mask. it didn't matter to him that you were elderly with breathing issues and could prove it. I watched how he treated several people and I wanted to jump over the desk after him. you know it's not what you tell people it's how you tell them. Compliance is not that difficult if you are polite and explain the reasoning. Zane needs to have an attitude adjustment! And people need to realize how inefficient these stupid mask mandates are! As they keep pushing down our throat listen to the science. But their conversations for another day! I just need to train their staff to be sensitive and not be rude! Then the next morning we call down just to see if they were serving up breakfast. And whoever answered the desk phone must be related to Zane because they were just as rude. Without a doubt, the nicest Hampton I have ever stayed at. Clean, great location. Good gym room and they will give you a free pass to fitness 19 if you want more. They also have a pool, although I didn't try it out. Found it interesting that it was open from 11-5am for adult use. The breakfast is pretty good - fresh fruit, yogurt, pretty good coffee. And as a plus, there is an outback right across the parking lot. read more

We stayed here just one night and it's like any Hampton Inn or quality roadside motor hotel. BUT, there's something SPECIAL about this one. There's the usual things you read in a positive review - very clean, pleasant feeling, excellent staff, comfortable bed, nice breakfast. But it's more. The room was very spacious and bright, the bathroom roomy and well appointed, coffee, microwave and fridge, bright corridors, pleasant breakfast lounge area, free breakfast bar had what is now standard hot and cold servings (scrambled eggs, potatoes and meat, oatmeal, cold cereals, bagels, sweet rolls, waffle maker, fruits, etc), pool and whirlpool are open all night for adults, desk staff are professional and happy to help, nice little convenience store in lobby, surrounded by chain restaurants in easy walking distance. I can't quite put my finger on how, but it's all put together in a way that is clearly Hampton Inn at its very best. read more

We arrived from Kansas City just a hair after 3PM, generally in a pretty good mood - I-29 through Missouri, Iowa and South Dakota is a well-kept road, which I suppose has to be the case given the extreme weather conditions the prairie goes through. The staff at Hampton helped us keep up the good mood, with a warm smile as we entered the building, and by giving us extremely well detailed instructions on what there is to do at this hotel. After checking in, while the missus watched some television, I partook in the pool/spa area, which I'm happy to say met my expectations. One thing the hotel did not have in its store, though, was a beer selection, so I went on a prowl in the area looking for some. Should've asked the staff, of course - if I'd ventured north I would've found a gas station/convenience store that would've easily met my needs. Instead, I wandered south on this 90 degree afternoon, passing a variety of home improvement stores before foolishly deciding on Wal-Mart. Yes, they technically had beer, but getting a craft was not in the cards - if you want any version of Coors or Budweiser, thought, this was the place. Instead I got a six pack of Smirnoff Peach Bellini, which took me a full six nights to devour (the wife doesn't approve of that flavor), and made me think "I really should've researched this first". After dinner and the requisite drive around the Sioux Falls area, we came back to Hampton and had a more than pleasant night of sleep, putting us in great spirits for the following day's drive to Bismarck. The breakfast area is kept up very well, to the point that when I made a minor spill, I felt obligated to clean it up. Immediately. There is also the option of a breakfast-to-go for those who don't have the time to linger and socialize. Finally, there is one detail this hotel has that one doesn't see too often. Typically a hotel has a drive-up area for check-in purposes (which always struck me as grossly unnecessary for suburban locations with plentiful parking, but that's another thread). By design, there is an island between the drive-up and the general parking area. For those (like us) who like to cart in/out our own luggage, this island serves as a block between the two, and one is compelled to either lift their luggage over, or go around and expose themselves to vehicular traffic. Not the Sioux Falls Hampton - their island has a notch in the middle, enabling their guest to simply wheel their goods through. A nice extra touch. read more

I always stay in hamptons but this one was not clean. When I walked into my room all I smelled was smelly feet mixed with someone just blowing up the bathroom it was gross. Then when I tried to turn on the tv the remote work 1/3 of the time which was really annoying. When I'm spending $140 I expect a room to not smell. All I wanted to do is relax and watch tv after a 12 car drive but I couldn't even do that. Not impressed at all read more

The staff was very friendly and attentive on all shifts (day swing and late night) . The rooms were clean and comfortable. TV has a large selection of channels as well. I stay in a lot of hotels and I added this on my master list to stay at whenever I am in town here In Sioux Falls. It's close to several restaurants including an Outback, Chevy's Fresh Mex and a fine dining place named Foley's. I Didn't have a chance to check out the amenities this time. Again, I recommend staying here since it's great rates for a clean and comfortable hotel room. Plus Hamptons always have free breakfast in the am. read more

I have stayed at many Hampton Inns on my road trip, and this was definitely one of the older ones. The hospitality was great, like any other location, but the rooms were older and the furniture was darker. With all of the dark wood and large wardrobe against the wall, instead of a closet, the room seemed a bit smaller than it was. The bathroom was also very small and had little counter space, something that proved to be a problem for the three of us staying in the room. However, the shower had great water pressure! Beds were relatively comfortable, nothing special. I enjoyed my stay overall, but it was not up to the standard of other Hampton Inns I have been to. I would keep that in mind if that's important to you and/or have only been to new Hampton Inns! Pros: - Tons of plug-ins that are easily accessible near the bed and desk - Friendly staff - Great (& free!) continental breakfast - Has breakfasts "to-go" - Has AAA discount - Very walkable, we had a u-haul trailer and needed to be able to walk to dinner which was very do-able! Cons: - Older building, furniture, and bathrooms - Only one elevator, we were constantly waiting! PRO TIP: The front desk has "bagged breakfasts" that are set our from 7:30-10am (same as their continental breakfast. They have a bottle of water with an Arnold Palmer flavoring packet attached, a muffin, nutri-grain bar, and apple. Whether you don't have time to gab a continental breakfast or just want an extra snack for the road, grab as many as you'd like before 10am! read more

My wife and I were at this hotel on 12/26/13-12/29/13. The stay was great until Saturday, 12/28/13. When we woke up, our room smelled like cigarette/marijuana smoke as if someone had been smoking in the hall way. We were on the second floor so the smoke was not coming from outside on the ground level. It became so strong that my wife and I left the room. My wife and I both have Government jobs and cannot risk any contact with marijuana smoke. When we got into the hall way, there was a hotel worker walking past and we brought this to their attention. They stated they would look into this and my wife and I left for the day. On the night of 12/28/13 we received our early check out sheet that was pushed under our hotel room door. When looking at this, there was a $250.00 charge in addition to our room fees/charges for a "Cleaning Charge!" When the front desk attendant was asked about this, she stated it was for the cigarette/marijuana smoke in our room. We were told to speak with Tracy on Monday, 12-30-13 but there was nothing this clerk could do. When the clerk was told WE were the ones that reported the smoke AND neither of us smoke ANYTHING, she again stated she could not help us but our credit card would be charged for the fee. Messages have been left requesting a return telephone call however none have been returned. Looking at our bank statement, this hotel did charge us the fee. We just want our hard earned money returned as we thought we were doing the right thing by bringing this to the attention of the hotel staff. We will NEVER stay at this chain of hotels due to the way the flex their muscle, take our money and have no explanation of why WE WERE CHARGED this fee????? read more

This property is somewhat "signage" challenged, however we were not using a GPS or navigation system. We took advantage of their online booking and prepay option, saving over $30 - this was a nice benefit. Our stay was comfortable and restful. Do not stay at this hotel if you are a traveling youth team because they do not want kids in their hotel. They are not accommodating to sports teams after they tell you all their rules when booking a block of rooms. They do not hold up their end. Do not think you will sit in the lobby to socialize bc they kick you out & tell you to go to the pool only to kick you out if the pool the next night stating they will call the cops in 5min if all food & non-breakable beverages are not cleared out. We cleaned up the pool & vacated the area the previous night when it was time. This hotel has lost 60 rooms for the Hilton brand over the next 4 months. Not a lot to them but I will never stay at a Hilton again for my work travel either. read more

It is unfortunate for the Hampton name, that the construction of this facility is not comparable referencing that the plumbing chase from the sauna above echoed into our unit below so loud as if we were running water in our unit to fill the sauna in our King room suite. We called for management to inspect who offered ear plugs or a fan; although, the sound from the plumbing was much louder the their existing loud wall ac unit. The floor bracing construction does not support the unit above so that the unit below in this case will hear the customer above walking to and from areas of their unit. Stayed here for a night on our way to Mt Rushmore. Service was decent with good sized rooms. Pool was a bit small, but they have pool noodles and balls the kids can use. Nice touch.
