Basic (Oatmeal, cereal, sausage/bacon, potatoes, bagels, coffee, etc) but I was pleased. OKAY, now onto the bad. When we arrived after a long travel day at midnight, the gentleman working the front desk was rude and used expletive language towards me and my travel partners. After arranging for a rollaway bed during my booking, we found that it was not in the room when we got there. The man (who literally REFUSED to give me his name--shaved head, arm tatoos, glasses) did not seem to care in the slightest about this. When i asked him what should we do to remedy the situation since we arranged for 3 beds but only had 2, his reply was deal with it, and "Not my f****ing problem". I Say, "Fine, then i'll take another room with one bed" to which he replied "You have money for that? No you don't" and REFUSED TO RENT ME A ROOM!!!! Just wild experience. On Friday, Aug, 8th, I reserved a room with 2 queen beds at the Quality Inn & Suites Downtown Walla, Walla, 520 North 2nd Ave, Walla Walla, WA 99362. I have to say it was the worst experience I ever had. We checked in, got to the room, to find that my bed sheets were disgustingly dirty, I called down to the front desk and they offered to bring up clean sheets. No, I would like another room (We were in room #109) The front desk lady comes down, takes a picture of the sheets and apologized. She showed us another room on the same floor, and the first thing I said was it smells and the lady from the front desks says, well we can't keep going to different rooms pulling back sheets (gee, I wonder why). The front desk lady said she would give us the key card to the new room (Room #115) once we move our stuff out of room #109, that never happened. Once in the new room (#115), the beds looked like they were made by a 4-year-old, very mess. The bed pillows were old, small and lumpy. To top it off, my daughter woke up with a "wheat beetle" on her shoulder. You heard me, a "wheat beetle". GROSS. The hotel just had excuse after excuse how those bugs get in the room. Their excuse over and over was because of a big wheat field behind them. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! There should never ever be any kind of bugs in a hotel. Very disgusting. The amenities were very sad. There were no covers on the fans in the bathroom. When you turned the fan on sounded like a plane was ready to take off. One bar of soap,a pack of makeup remover and no lotion etc. Oh and normally hotel sheets smell like bleach, which is good because it means there clean. Not here. One red flag. I honestly can't believe they are still open for business and how they could be passing any kind of any inspections is beyond me. Go to their website and check out their reviews. Then I asked if they are affiliated with the old super 8 and he yelled at me and called me a racist. My husband tried to go in and they started yelling at him. Stayed here for a few nights and i wouldn't recommend anymore then 1 night here :/ my first night i went to brush my teeth and there were toothpaste stains already on the sink faucet which made me believe they don't do a great job cleaning. i looked at the mirrors and they looked dirty too. that same night i left my loofah on the bathtub faucet and when i woke up in the morning to shower there were ants alllll on it and in it i was disgusted it was a brand new loofah too. i seen an ant in the sink and when i opened the drawer by the mini fridge there had been two crumbs in it (which were not from me or any food i had eaten there) and seen a billionnnn ants in there. i also seen an earwig bug in the tub. i seen other reviews talking about bugs and how they've reported it and the hotel staff does not seem to care or do anything. i didn't report it or ask for any refunds because i had only been in the room to sleep but either way this is a dirty environment and just embarrassing for a hotel business. they need to take the proper measures to fix this bug problem and actually throughly clean their rooms. aside from that this place had potential i liked the breakfast, pool, and hot tub and the fact that it's near downtown but there are most definitely better hotels in that area. i stayed at the courtyard on my previous trip to walla now that's a place that deserves 5 stars ! read more

We reserved two rooms (2 queen beds ea) and had a decent first impression- fairly turned off by having to ask for bleach wipes to clean off the door handle of one of our rooms, but we got over it- the front desk woman was apologetic. Fast forward to a few hours later, when we got back from a concert and were ready to get to bed- where we found multiple bugs in three out of the four beds (not bed bugs, but many bugs- dead, crawling and smooshed). We were pretty grossed out and went to the front desk, where we got very nonchalant "yeah, we've been having some issues with bugs". No "I'm sorry". We ended up packing out stuff and staying with a friend, who lived 45 minutes away. When we went back in the AM to talk to the regional manager- Nikul (sp?), he actually apologized and acknowledged that it's kind of gross, but assured us they're not bed bugs. We asked for a refund because we weren't going to stay there at all. The options he gave me were 1) don't stay there, eat the cost and don't process a formal cancellation, or 2) don't stay there, eat the cost, AND PAY $36 for a formal cancellation fee. He insisted that their system did not allow a refund on promotional deals and that the bug issue was "out of his hands". I'm currently working with my credit card company on a reverse charge. read more

Do NOT stay at the Quality Inn in Walla Walla! It was an absolute dump and one of the worst hotels that I have ever come across. The hotel was dirty, not safe (the panel on our door with the lock was literally falling off the door) and hotel management was extremely rude and unwilling to take accountability for their inadequate facilities. My friends and I had planned a girls trip to Walla Walla. We booked 3 different rooms at the Quality Inn. The pictures and reviews for the hotel seemed decent. However, as stated in a different review - it seemed almost like bait and switch. We arrived at the hotel kind of late. We checked into our 3 different rooms and none of them were adequate. The room I was staying in had the lock falling off the door (which I wasn't comfortable with, being that I'm a woman in an unfamiliar place), the room was smelly and there were dirty towels (seriously, so gross!), and bugs in one of the drawers. My friend and I were trying to figure out what to do, when our other friend told us that she had already had to switch rooms because her room reeked of dog smell and there had been weed left in the drawer with the bible. The room that they switched her to was also smelly and didn't feel clean. Between 3 of us, we tried 5 different rooms and all of them had issues. We weren't picky - just looking for a clean, safe and comfortable place to sleep/stay. The ended up leaving within 15-20 mins of arriving because the rooms were THAT bad. The front desk refused to issue any refund because we already checked in. The manager - Nakul is rude, unprofessional and combative (my friend tried calling and reasoning with him the next day). We ended up staying next door at the Best Western Plus - SO much better! If you are going to stay at Quality Inn ask to see a room FIRST. Quality Inn's prices might be a draw - but you pay for what you get - we learned that the hard way. read more

Booked two nights for a room. when I arrived I paid with my debit card. The hotel charged an extra night on the room because I booked through a third party and drained my debit card. Told me they would return the extra night room charge after I checked out. So my vacation money was held by Choice Hotels for the duration of my stay. Do not book and then pay at the hotel with a debit card or this hotel will charge you an extra night! I called customer service and they said this is their policy. It is my policy to never stay at another choice hotel again since there was no reason to charge me for an extra night and then return it when I leave just because I booked it through expedia. When we were looking for a hotel in Walla Walla we didn't want anything expensive (since who really spends all that much time in a hotel?), but wanted to stay downtown, knowing we wouldn't have a car. Therefore, we found Quality Inn & Suites, which turned out to be an amazing stay and experience! Once we landed we called Quality Inn to see if they had shuttle service from the airport. Although they do not have a shuttle service, the friendly employee recommended two drivers and gave me their phone numbers. The driver we used was gratuity-based, so saved us money, had we chosen ride share. When we checked in the same friendly employee welcomed us and our check-in was fast and efficient. I wish I remembered his name, but our whole time here, he was the nicest person and we saw how helpful he was with all the guests. Our room was very nice! We had a king size bed, mini fridge, microwave, air conditioning, free wifi and HBO. The amenities for the hotel included a gym, pool, hot tub, outdoor grill, complimentary continental breakast, and they're dog-friendly at no additional charge! The location was also in downtown Walla Walla, so we were able to walk everywhere! We were also flying out for home on the last flight, so they happily let us check out an hour past noon, the normal check-out time, and held our luggage for us until we went to the airport. Quality Inn & Suites is an affordable hotel that has the basics and more. If you're looking for something fancy then this is not your cup of tea. But if you want something reasonable and comfortable, this is where to stay in downtown Walla Walla. We were very pleased with our stay here; it will definitely be our choice hotel for the next time we visit Walla Walla. read more

There are several hotels in this town if you need one. This is a first for me, coming into a town that I used to live in and needing a place to stay for the night. You'll find a comfortable bed at a reasonable cost with a location that is just off the freeway and a short distance from the downtown drag, if that's what you need. It isn't too far from the police station, so you can take that as either a positive or negative. When I stayed here, they were busy putting on a new roof. Do not stay here. Our room had a leaking ceiling that was discovered late at night. Apparently the hot tub one floor above us was leaking water into our room. We were moved into a new room that was at a lower price point than we payed for. We did not get refunded the difference in price. We were not offered any help to move to the new room even with a screaming two year old in tow. Pay the bit extra and save yourself the headache. We were looking for a hotel close to downtown and chose this one based off of photos, location and reviews. I am really disappointed in our stay. Right when we walked in the room, first thing I noticed was a very dated area with a really loud window AC unit which wasn't a huge deal, something that might be an annoyance but I could deal with. There was a huge pen mark on the wall near the bathroom, baseboards were peeling.. it was very dated. The worst part of the room was the bathroom light and fan. The fan automatically comes on when you turn the light on and it was extremely loud and make a squealing sound. The longer it was left on, the louder it got. One of my children showered with the door open using only the light from the adjacent room because of the noise. Multiple times we used the restroom with only the light from our phones flashlight because it was BAD. We decided to go to the pool, we made sure to book a hotel with a pool for the kids and a hot tub for us. The pool room was large which was nice but the water was freezing and dirty, to the point that algae was growing inside of the pool and the hot tub was out of order. The one good thing I can say about this hotel was they do have a very good breakfast. Next time I will pay more and give up the convenient location for a more comfortable stay some where else. read more

Drove to the front where well landscaped and seems to be maintained on the outside of the Inn. Walking through the door smelled clean and fresh and well kept. This is always a positive to me. Coming in staff welcoming giving me my key card and seeming very personable and gave me easy to understand direction to where my room was located. Coming into the room, very clean and maintained. Nothing out of sorts or nothing that presents to me as if someone was not doing their job in cleaning the rooms. linens seemed fairly well tucked and both beds organized. No real damage that I can tell. Room was set to a comfortable temperature. Leaving to get dinner, I left my key card in the room... oops... but the attendant at the front was kind and shared she does it all the time normalizing the feeling of "I am that guy having to get another key card." Stay overall good... price reasonable. Location of food... within walking distance and within walking distance of a gas station for any snack-type needs. read more

Very unprofessional. Made a reservation for 2 nights via Expedia. Selected pay at hotel option. Upon arrival I let it be known I could only stay 1 night."not a problem. Let them know tomorrow morning when checking out." At check out the next morning again, "not a problem. We will refund your payment for the second night within 24hrs". Not the case. Not only did they not refund the second night they charged my credit card an additional $18 for not spending the second night. Even after several calls to the hotel and to choice hotel customer service nothing was done. Not even refunding the penalty fee. I stayed here for two nights last weekend. The room carpet and chair was filthy and tattered. There was a desk but no desk chair. I had my little dog with me and took him to the breakfast cafe for about 10 min. I was never told to please take my dog out and when I saw my credit card charge they charged me $250 cause I had my dog in the cafe. When I called they said I was told to remove my dog twice but I was never told that. I would have never had my dog in the cafe if I was asked to not have him. I am a nice person and would never do that. I do not believe this business is good and they do not treat their customers fairly. They lied about me and it makes me wonder who else they do this too. I tried to talk to the owner about this situation twice and he never called me back. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. read more

Stayed in room 222. Mold growing above the shower, and vomit/bile pile/splatter in the corner of the room when we checked in. It looked like soaked spinach with what looked like bile, and it was completely dry. Housekeeping was to my room within 2 minutes and cleaned it up. Housekeeping and front desk staff were very apologetic. I did tell housekeeping this was "no big deal" because I was in shock and uncomfortable; the scene was so gross. I was kind to them; I did not want to be rude to the women that cleaned because it probably wasn't their fault. The Manager was rude and defensive (he said the pandemic is pretty much over and that their cleaning standards are just fine), telling me it was just food that missed the trash can. Also said to me "don't tell me I'm running a dumpy hotel!" I simply asked if there was a way he could make this right before I write a review. No, I do not recommend you stay here. The king bed was very comfortable. We didn't use the sleeper sofa. The bathroom was nice and clean with a separate tub, shower, and toilet area. I like that it had a fan! Rare, even in high end hotels! The air conditioning was good, and the room was large. The drapes didn't completely block the morning sun. :( The coffee in the kitchen was better than the breakfast coffee. The kitchen was stocked with old... well... everything. The dishwasher wouldn't open, not that I needed it but... hey, someone might. Breakfast was a normal hotel breakfast. This hotel had lousy eggs though and believe me, I know my eggs! Waffles, Danishes, miniature muffins, fruit, sausage, biscuits and gravy, juice and coffee, plus the usual yogurts... Pretty fair breakfast but it came with the very inexpensive price for a large suite so I truly cannot complain! Update: If you ever stay here, stay on the upper level. What was very frustrating is that we were in for a baseball tournament and only upon Check in were we told that the pool and hot tub were out of commission. We should have been given the option to go elsewhere but there was no communication prior and no apologies or discounts given. Seems like people always have a bitch about something. I've heard many of them. Some are almost unbelievable, at least until you see who's making it. I was overnight from home 137 nights last year. All over the NW and MT. I stay in Choice hotels just about every night of those. This Quality Inn is a very good hotel in my recent experience. My room was clean, nice fresh towels, a very comfortable bed and clean fresh linens, and a good operating heater/air cond. Breakfast was standard Choice hotels, and was kept full and warm. Love the tile! Instead of old very dirty carpet the tile was a very nice change of pace. Very nice helpful folks working here that I met. I wouldn't expect anything less from WW! read more

The location is good, but the Manager is very rude and defensive about any questions whether they are minor or major. He seems very proud that he's the manager and owner, but he treats the customers like they are annoyances. Clearly he wants his staff to handle any issues, and is not happy having to actually HELP anyone. The price for such a basic, 2-3 star hotel is very high. $189 a night for a Saturday is way too high for the quality of this hotel and the service. read more

I do not leave reviews like this often, but I feel compelled. First night we were placed in a "king" room that in no way resembled any photos from the location's website. The room was barely wide enough to contain a king bed. So much so that there was no room for furniture on any wall other than the TV at the foot of the bed. The bed was hard as a rock and the ceiling above us creaked and groaned ALL NIGHT with any movement from seemingly anywhere above us on the second floor. No sleep was had. This room MIGHT have been acceptable at $60/night, but there we were spending $200 for garbage. The room was not equipped with what I would call a standard HVAC system for a $200 hotel room, instead having a cheap AC window unit you might buy at walmart stuck in a hole in the wall through which daylight and moonlight shone brightly. It was clear that this room was an afterthought or had once been a large closet and someone saw dollar signs. I spoke with the staff the next morning because I was not going to stay in that room another night even though we had already paid $400 for 2 nights. The staff informed me that they were totally booked so they could not upgrade my room but they could move me to another king room on the main floor. Sure, might as well. So the second night we stayed in a different king room. I kid you not it was at least twice the size of the first room. There was a chair with an ottoman. The furnture , carpet, etc, all different. We slept much better that night. However, we woke up the next morning only to notice that the smoke detector in our room was covered with a plastic bag. GRRRRR. Evidently whoever stayed in the room before us was either tobacco or 420 friendly and wanted to smoke. The room cleaning staff didn't catch it, so we slept all night, unbeknownst to us, in a room with no smoke/fire detection. NOT HAPPY!!!!! I took a picture and let the manager come see the smoke detector before I took the bag down. She offered nothing, not even a fake apology. So disappointing. Just glad we're not dead. read more

The staff is what makes this place great. They are very accommodating and friendly. Rhonda was The Bomb, getting me a great rate and even helping me get my large bag up the stairs. Oh yeah: No elevator. This is the most pet-friendly hotel I've ever stayed in. When I arrived to check in, a man and his dachschund were hanging out in the lobby, his dog off leash and greeting everyone. So wonderful. Their continental breakfast is pretty good and includes homemade waffles. They are easy to take on the road to snack on later. There were three kinds of cereal, scrambled eggs, sausage, tiny muffins, one selection of pastries, gravy, biscuits, orange and apple juice, yogurt, bagels, white bread and raisin bread, fresh whole fruit (apples, bananas, oranges) and the waffles. This place is a recently-remodeled La Quinta. It's a good-sized room. It was clean--the linens, the floor/carpet, the countertops, etc., but the AC filter hadn't been cleaned in forever (I cleaned it in the tub. You're welcome.) and there was a NASTY old red chair that must be left over from its La Quinta days. I almost put it out in the hall and thought better of it. The light/fan in the bathroom makes a horrible sound when you turn it off, and the tub spigot has all kinds of problems: It's coming out from the wall, water is leaking behind it, and the button you pull out to take a shower does not come all the way out, and so half of your water is coming out the shower and half is coming out of the spigot into the tub. Seriously annoying. However, there was plenty of hot water and the water pressure was ok. The special shower nozzle they advertise is nothing to write home about though. The bed was a little softer than I like, but firm enough to go to sleep and stay asleep without tossing and turning all night. My dog slept like the dead. The peephole is built for people 7' tall or taller. I couldn't even jump high enough to look out. All the rooms also come with microwaves, refrigerators, a big tv with remote, and free wifi. It's about 1 or 2 blocks from downtown, a Safeway, and a Starbucks. I would definitely stay here again. They're doing a lot of things right. read more

The staff made a mistake when charging my card and accidentally canceled it, resulting in the full charge for three nights being taken out of my bank account, but as far as they were concerned, I had not paid for my room. The clerk said we would take care of it later. Then for some reason, they charged me again overnight, so I had over $500 taken out of my account. The manager was incredibly rude and condescending and treated me like I was a bum even though the mistake was caused by his staff and not anything I had done. He made absolutely zero attempt at anything approaching customer service and insisted that I pay up. No effort was made to apologize or even acknowledge that the mistake was theirs. Then he had the nerve to insist that I pay the pet deposit. I went ahead and paid for the three nights on a different card so at that point I was almost $1000 paid for three nights at a mediocre hotel. I stayed here because I sold my house and I was waiting for escrow to close. Very emotional time for me and I really did not need this additional headache. The desk staff was apologetic and understanding but the manager at this hotel does not have one ounce of humanity or understanding of any basic concepts of customer service or manners.
