This place was PACKED the night we stayed for business- traveling through. We were fortunate to get the very last room. Even with it being so packed- it was not loud in the hotel- thank goodness! The price was super high for a small town- 140, for it being Comfort Inn, and it also being a weekday as well as not holiday time. The place is average. It's a Comfort Inn, not the best, not the worst. It was decent with the room, the cleanliness, and service. It was fine for a 1-night stay traveling through. read more

I recently stayed here for a few days. For the most part, our stay was okay, except for the noise from the room above us and finding a bed bug. Anytime the guests above our room walked around, our ceiling made loud squeak noises. The complimentary morning breakfast was okay, but the eggs seemed very artificial. The employees were nice. The elevator makes an extremely (excessively) loud and annoying buzz each time it reaches a new floor. The shower water pressure was weak. I would have given a higher rating, but on our last day, we found a bed bug right in the middle of my daughter's bed. It was easy to see on the white bed sheets. Since we were checking out, we didn't spend time looking for other insects, we just wanted to get out of there. When we told the front desk, they said they didn't think it was a bed bug, but just a baby cockroach. Regardless, neither insect should be in the bed. An hour after checking out, we noticed my daughter had a dozen insect bites along her arm and we are sure it is from sleeping in this bed. We were glad to be leaving and don't plan to return. read more

I stopped here on my way back to DFW. A nice room, not too expensive, friendly front desk attendant (although his english was broken). I used Priceline and the attendant also charged me, but they removed that charge after I told them what had happened. The only negative thing I can think of it that the walls and door to my room allowed noise to flow easily into the room from the hallway and the neighboring room. The guests were up late and kept me up way longer than I had planned on. read more

The staff was friendly. Pool was nice tho no towels, I was able to get some at the front desk but the employee said there were only 2 more clean towels left. Breakfast was okay typical hotel breakfast warm biscuits was a nice change. I didn't try the eggs or sausage (these were not browned so they didn't look appetizing). Warm food was warm and cold food was cold. Our room had some issues, popcorn piece and bottle top on the floor, our soap was already open but didn't look used, something crusty on the sheets and the bathtub had rusty spots all over that made it look like something was smeared on it. After camping this was a step up. read more

I mean, even as far as Quality Inns go... this one is pretty low quality. The location is not great-- not that near the university, right off the highway, embedded among sports bars and mediocre chain restaurants. But the bigger issue was that one of the only amenities-- the pool-- was disastrous. The railing along the stairs into the pool in order to get in was completely broken which I'm certain is a massive safety hazard. The hot tub filled and overflowed with bubbles when the jacuzzi was on, meaning that the chemical mixture was way out of balance. And the towels for poolgoers were teeny-- like a hand towel and a half. The rooms were certainly not nice enough to make up for this... Pretty long in the tooth and not especially clean bathrooms. I was on a cross country motorcycle trip and my rear tire went flat. I made it to Lubbock but the M/C shops were closed on Monday. So I found this Quality Inn just 2 blocks from the shop. They were very friendly, quickly granted my request for a late check-out, since I was at the mercy of a M/C shop I'd never dealt with. The room was awesome !! and for 60 bucks. Bfast in the morning was good and the attendant was super friendly and willing to help make the waffles if you wanted. It's what a hotel should be like ! read more

The place is just sad. Everything about it needs some refreshing. Looks like it could have been nice not too long ago but certainly hasn't seen care recently. Carpets are old and sad, pool area and hot tub are need of repair and cleaning, finally the rooms need updating from the sheets to the bathrooms. I was glad that we only spent one here and was happy to be on my way in the morning. read more

While having our RV repaired we spent 2 nights here. We were treated by the front desk in a pleasant manner and the check in was effortless. The rooms are large and the bed was comfortable. There was a refrigerator and a microwave in our room along with the usual desk, nightstands, and an easy chair. The lighting was good and the AC was cold. There was a single cup coffee maker in the room. They serve a free breakfast which has scrambled eggs, link sausage, biscuits, gravy, waffles, bread, bagels, cereal, milk, and juice. It was enjoyable. They also have other amenities such as a pool and a hot tub. The hotel is in close proximity to almost anything you would want or need. I would certainly say it is conveniently located. I would definitely stay here if we do a return visit to Lubbock. read more

I wanted to give a better rating but I just can't. We stayed here one night and all I can say is we were missing cash from our room, we were told to file a police report but we were already late to our event and just didnt have time. The manager said she reviewed the cameras and didn't see anything but I honestly don't know if I believe that. Upon unpacking at home I noticed some expensive cosmetics missing from my bags. Also a pair of brand new unopened Rx color contact lenses. Why would someone take such things!! I feel so violated and just plan mad. I personally won't be returning to this location, I can't speak for my husband, he wasn't missing anything that we noticed. Also,...breakfast was gross, all I wanted was to make my own waffle but the guy working in the dinning area was being a waffle nazi. He physically stood guard of the waffle maker. The Quality Inn and Suites is a fairly new hotel on the west side of Lubbock. Despite what the website says, there isn't much of anything within walking distance though there are some chain restaurants within a 5 or ten minute drive. Both the university and the airport are about 15 minutes away. Since the hotel is newish, it hasn't seen a lot of wear and tear. Rooms that are closet to the lobby and located in the center of the building tend to be larger than those on the end of the building (rooms ending in 01, 02, etc and 19 and 20). My room was right off the lobby and had a large bathroom and 11 foot high ceilings that made it feel like a cavern. There are microwaves and small refrigerators in all the rooms. The mattresses, unfortunately, weren't very firm. The rooms are pretty basic, but they are nice. A hot breakfast buffet was included in the price of the room. Other amenities included an indoor pool and a very small business center with two computers and a printer. The entire staff was excellent. I'd stay here again. Recommended. read more

Stayed here a few nights for a business trip. Exterior grounds: the exterior was exceptionally clean and welcoming. There is plenty of parking in front, around the side, and in back. Common areas: I only took advantage of the breakfast area, which was always clean and presentable. Breakfast was fine, but there was no change in menu the entire time I was there. It would have been nice to have had some different offerings each day. However, the food provided was of good quality and always fresh. Room: I was pleasantly surprised at how large the room was. The room was extremely clean, which was pleasant. The only complaint I have is that the desk was far too tall and the chair would not raise up high enough for me to comfortably work at it. Staff: the staff was personable and professional. They were able to direct me to different restaurants or stores, which is a plus. I was always welcomed whenever I entered or left, so that was wonderful. Wi-fi: I had no issues with it the entire time. It worked well and never dropped my devices. The biggest complaint is that I had to keep logging back in if I shut a device down instead of going directly to the internet after initial log in. Overall, a very nice hotel I'd be willing to visit for future business trips. read more

My cousin and I were driving from San Jose to Plano, quite a long drive indeed. Decided to stop in Lubbock and head out to Plano early the next morning. So needed a place with two beds, free breakfast, free internet, and cheap rates. $95 on a last minute reservation is a pretty good deal from where I'm from, especially when the room is a suite. The room only had one bed, but had a pull out sofa. Unfortunately the pull out sofa bed had a blood stain in the middle, disgusting!!! But what can you expect from an inexpensive hotel? The wireless internet was spotty at best, with barely enough reception to use Yelp to find a late night restaurant to grab some dinner. Breakfast the next morning was ok, they had a waffle maker which was a plus. There were the regular continental breakfast items, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy (gravy in a crock pot no less!), cereal, milk, orange juice, and coffee. The food did just the trick to get us on our 5 hour drive to Plano. The room was clean enough and did the trick. Can't really complain. read more

Overall I would say I was very satisfied with this hotel. We waited till the last minute to book a room for our stay in Lubbock because I had such a hard time deciding where to stay, the only hotels with good reviews and the criteria that I was looking for were way out of our price range. This hotel was worth the price. The only thing I didn't like was the noisy elevator, it made noises when you rode in it which was a bit scary for me but I did check the service certificate on the wall and it was up to date. However, they might want to fix whatever is making the scary noises. When we first got there, I inspected the room we were booked in and it looked great but the window seemed to have some sort of a problem because it was letting cold air in but when I told the front desk they quickly assigned us to a different room that had no issues. Other than that the hotel was clean, the staff was very kind and helpful. There was not one person who was rude or unpleasant. We stayed two nights and it felt like going home each time we returned because the familiar faces would address us so kindly. The beds were comfortable and clean, we always had fresh towels. The pool was clean, the gym was also clean and had a nice TV in it to watch as you work out. The room had ample space, was clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was served hot and there was a very nice lady there helping people who needed it. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit. read more

Digital HDTV flat screen (but no HBO...first property I've stayed at in years that didn't have HBO. No "Game of Thrones" for you!) Breakfast wasn't good at all: Mushy-soft potatoes and biscuits. Stick with the waffles or scrambled eggs or breakfast cereal. Amazingly, we had a good meal at the Redfish Seafood Grill about 1.5 mi. away. Sorry wrong location. We stayed here for parents weekend and it wasn't bad. Hotel seemed like it may have been remodeled or updated. In the morning as I was showering I noticed the shower curtain had mold all across the bottom of it. When I was checking out the lady at the desk asked how everything was. When I let her know I was a little disgusted by the condition of the of the shower she said she couldn't do anything but would let the manager know and have him call. It's been weeks and no call. Comfortable room, good size. Stable wifi and TONS of channels on the TV. I had a microwave and fridge in my room, which was a nice perk. The staff was incredibly friendly. Parking was plentiful. My only complaint is that it sounded like elephants stomping around on the floor above me. If I were to stay here again, I would request an upper floor. read more

This Quality Inn is typical of any..comfortable beds, clean, many TV channels, great breakfast. What really makes this hotel stand out is the staff. The managers (husband and wife) stayed in the dining area during breakfast checking food levels and talking with guests. When someone walked in, they'd greet them and offer them a waffle. Plus, the housekeeper told us to have a nice day, then we said we'd try, but sadly was in town for a funeral. She said sorry to hear, but later after returning we came in to find a note on the bed "hoping you had a great day and enjoying stay". If I'm ever back in Lubbock, this will be where I go. Side note: Wi-Fi = FAST! I was able to load pages easy and even watch Netflix. read more

After spending the day on the road and feeling like it was time to pull off, and without a reservation, we pulled into the parking lot of this hotel. Normally, I look for Holiday inn Express hotels, and I saw there were two in the area. But the price was a good $20 more than this one, which had good reviews on Yelp. Decided to take a chance. Glad we did! Really friendly hotel manager on the desk! He honored a price I had been quoted on the phone, and he kept us away from the noisy elevator and pool and in the back of the hotel, which we wanted. He recommended an excellent Indian restaurant, which we appreciated. The room is quiet and clean. We checked for bed bugs and found no evidence. Room smells great; it is a nonsmoking and nonpet hotel. Can't wait to catch some zzzzz's and then have a waffle and/or a pancake at the breakfast bar in the a.m.! Great spot! Glad we save $20 on this perfectly maintained overnight refuge! Sometimes it is fine to try new things! (Oh, the "scary elevator" comment below must've prompted management to post a note, which explains that the noises are normal for this elevator and it is safe and maintained. The noises are different every time you ride it. Kind of amusing actually; only a problem if you read these reviews and know about it. I don't think we would've even noticed otherwise!) read more

This is by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had in my life. We came up for my sisters graduation from college and stayed two nights. My father paid for the first night in the hotel and we were going to pay for the second. We had gone to the front desk multiple times to work out the payments and they had assured us that everything was worked out and the cards would be charged appropriately. Upon checkout we spent 45 minutes at the front desk working out the payment process because they had charged the wrong rooms with the wrong cards, had double charged some rooms, and could not account for any of the charges. Finally when we left we had the correct charge on our credit card and we felt confident that things had been worked out. You could imagine our surprise two hours later when an additional $1,700 had been charged to our cards! We called the hotel and they again could not account for the charge. We got passed along on the phone with about 4 different people and nobody could give us an answer. Finally the GM called us and got the charges dropped but refused to comp the room because it was graduation weekend. I would not stay in this hotel again even if I was given a free night in it. I would give it zero stars if it would let me. Save yourself the trouble and say $230 a night somewhere else. *** Update 6/4 my wife and I were able to talk to the manager, La'Cee, and she was extremely helpful and we got a complete refund. I do believe they are a good hotel and that a mistake was made, glad that the mistake was corrected. *** read more

It was clean and the people working here all very nice and did their jobs to perfection. Breakfast was great with lots of choices. It's not fancy, but very clean and nice. My wife and myself set up reservations for 9/13/17 on our way to a wedding in Albuquerque. We had driven from Austin Tx and stayed the night. The young lady at the desk was absolutely wonderful. She was so kind and professional and new the area very well. She referred us to several locations to eat. Breakfast was great and provided the energy to continue our trip. We called and made a reservation for a room on our return trip. We checked in early evening on 9/18/17. Check in was easy and room was clean. The problem began next morning while trying to have breakfast. When we walked in there was no real politeness as our previous stay. The gentleman who was working was on his phone for quite a while talking about a bbq that he was having and arguing about who was allowed to attend. Another employee came along and the conversation changed. The young lady and the man started talking about the laundry room and all the bed bugs in the laundry room. The older man continued to claim he and his wife were the management team and how they cleaned the rooms faster than current staff. The tirade continued until we gave up on breakfast and left. The fact that an employee would talk about bed bugs as if a big joke caused me to write a review. I would not recommend staying here until 1. they replace the gentleman that was bragging about bed bugs during breakfast and laughing about and 2. they provide proof that the bed bugs are eliminated.
