I rarely write reviews, but my recent stay at the Quality Inn left me no choice. This property is in a shocking state of disrepair. Our room had roaches, visible cobwebs in corners, chipped paint on the walls, and a water pucker hanging from the ceiling like a warning sign. The entire space felt neglected and uncared for -- the kind of place where it's clear ownership hasn't invested a dime in years. I spoke with the front desk clerk, who was pleasant and professional, but let's be real: a smile can't fix a crumbling facility. Nothing was resolved, and frankly, I didn't expect it to be. To whoever manages this location: please don't bother replying with a canned apology and a "we're looking into this" comment. This isn't about optics. It's about safety, cleanliness, and basic hospitality -- all of which are missing here. Unless you're tearing it down to rebuild or putting real money into restoring it, no one should be staying here. You can't slap the word "Quality" on a sign and call it a day. This place is an embarrassment to the brand and a warning to travelers. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. read more

Update outside maintenance. Clean baseboards, and paint rooms. Update decor and air units. If we could have canceled our reservation without a lot of hassle, we would have. The Motel 6 next door outside's is more welcoming looking than this Quality Hotel. read more

I am a Georgetown local, born and raise, here to visit my parents from Raleigh. This place appalled me. Georgetown has had so much growth and this is dis encouraging. The amount of litter and trash in the parking lots and marsh surrounding this hotel is disappointing. There was no where else available so I booked this last minute to see family. The room REEKED of weed and cigarettes despite being a non-smoking room. Also pet friendly for $50 a night but no where to walk your dog except grass covered in fast food litter and dog poop that no one cleans. An alligator jumped out at us at the pond behind Parker's. No lie. I would have been better off boarding my dog and sleeping on my family's couch. There was a hole in the door connecting my room to another room, I put a cup in the hole so the neighbors couldn't see into my room. The tv was broken with so many failed bulbs. Don't even get me started on the bathroom, I left to bathe at my family's house. Also, the security lock didn't work and the blind wouldn't close all the way. I put chairs in front of the doors. If I could give 0 stars I would. When we checked into our room, the lady asked us our name SEVERAL times and I guess finally gave us someone else's room to stay. On our way to our hotel several people smoking outside of the hotel rooms. We get to our room that stinks of weed and cigarettes. Our room itself look like a hostage was trying to get out. Stained bedsheets, paint chipping walls, and doors not fully closing- which is a huge safety concern! We had to immediately look for a different hotel to stay in because we didn't feel safe. We finally checked out both of our hotels, they gave us a receipt with the WRONG name on it! We were given room 114 and we were suppose to be in room 119. We tried to get the manager's name and they told us they didn't have a manager on duty at this time?! We tried to be civil and contact Quality Customer Service via email and tried to "give us that money for another one of their hotels" but it didn't equal in value. Then they tried to tell us we no showed our reservation, which we explained our situation previously, and told us we need to talk to Priceline to get a refund! We will never stay at any Quality Inn Suites because of this situation. This is a warning for any future guests that are thinking about staying here, DON'T! read more

Somewhere along the line this Quality Inn has lost its quality! I've been staying here pretty much twice a week for the last year, so I can tell you that I know what I'm talking about when it comes to the decline in this hotel. Let me start by saying that the employees there are wonderful! Always willing to go above and beyond and help you with anything you want/need. You see, the employees of this joint are victims too. They've been sold on a dream by the new owners who promised them the world and have come through with nothing. Now, on to the review: Cons: - Rooms have wallpaper that is coming off. - Room 127 has had a broken toilet seat even though it was reported weeks ago. - Burn marks from cigarettes in the bedspreads. - Carpet is dingy and stained. - Soap, Shampoo, and lotion is usually missing. - No face towels or only one towel to dry off with. - Cockroach climbed past my face as I was laying in the bed. - Pool obviously thinks it's St. Patrick's Day, and is closed in the middle of the summer. Pros: - Staff are always great. - Large parking lot for trucks. - Convenient location. It's a shame to see this hotel fall apart. I am in the process of finding other places to stay. read more

This was the worst stay I have ever had. I didn't make the reservation and once I saw the room I would have refused to stay here but there was nothing else available! There is nothing quality at this place worst than Motel 6 or other low price low quality hotel. The room smelled like smoke, cigarette burns on the bedspread, small TV, small bathroom area, floors were really filthy and cleaning crew made a quick pass to clean the tile floor. The rug was stained, worn down and absolutely filthy! my husband wore his socks and me my slippers to have minimal contact with the floors! Didn't feel safe at all although parking lot was big. Made sure we parking under bright lights and as close to our room as possible. The outside halls were just as worn down and no elevator has well! Will never, ever stay here again! read more

So let me start with the positive. The starf was kind and as helpful as they could be. You could tell they were burnt out, though. This inn needs to be thrown away. The first inn we stopped at on our family trip to S.C. was this nastiness and we were beyond underwhelmed. Walking into the room you are hit with an odor reminiscent of cigarette smoke, mildew, and funk. My cousins room had bed bugs. Just nasty. I would NOT recommend! This is a dangerous place to stay. I arrived to Quality Inn & Suites in Georgetown SC and saw that our room did not have a door that closed to the bathroom, had mold in the shower, and the bath would not drain. I went to the front desk and asked if these problems were common and if they had any other rooms with a working shower. I was advised by "Ms. Dory" that this was a common complaint and that she was not sure if any of the rooms were in working order. I explained that I would like a refund since they could not provide a clean place for me to sleep or shower. She offered me another room and told me that if that room wasn't better then there would be nothing else she could do. I went over to the new room and unlocked the door only to frighten the woman who was already occupying that room. It was late at night and that could have been a very dangerous situation for either of us. I went back and told Ms. Dory about what had happened and she did not apologize or offer any type of solution. I explained that I no longer felt safe here and needed my money back. She said I needed to come in the next morning to speak to the Manager, Harry. I got a different hotel that night and the next morning I drove all the way back to the hotel (Ms. Dory told me that I could not call and had to speak to Harry in person) only to find that Harry would not be in that day. The lady at the front desk gave me a post-it note to write my concerns on and assured me that Harry would call me immediately to resolve the issue. I still have not received a phone call and the money has not been refunded. Quality Inn put my safety in danger and could not provide me a clean private room to sleep in. They have lied repeatedly about calling me back and refunding my money. read more

Some things were good - more things were bad. The good: Felicia (at least that's what I was told was her name) was a gem. Smiling, friendly, helpful. Rooms were clean. I got the impression they were recently refurnished. No carpets! Weird but we got used to it and will be much easier to keep clean in a beach town so probably a good move. Bed was comfortable and linens were nice. The bad: other employees were not friendly or helpful. Were somewhat dismissive. Ice machine broken - ok, but then get a cooler and some bags of ice! Instead just a confirmation that yes, it's broken. Breakfast was abysmal. We were there for several nights for an event and the breads/bagels did not appear to ever be replaced. Pancakes like rubber through the machine. NO hot entree whatsover. Fruit - forget about it. Five bad apples that never changed. Some crappy wrapped muffins the first day then they were gone! Never replaced. The sign at the desk saying we're helping someone else, sorry we're not here! was always on display - but if you stay here just go behind the desk where you'll find the (male) staff on their phones. (Felicia came out smiling when you came in the door). Unfortunately, from what other visitors to our event said - the hotel game in Pawleys is all bad. If I could this location no stars, then that would be the rating I would give. My husband and I were visiting Georgetown for our first anniversary and decided to stay at this hotel. Walking into our room, we were met with the smell of mildew and hot air. As we started looking around the room, there were stains on the floor, carpet separated from the wall, stains on the furniture, cigarettes under the bed, rust coming out of the tub, smells from the sheets, and the ceiling showed a lack of care. Second time staying here, and it was pretty much like the first time except that we drove 14 hours and arrived at about 2 PM and when we went to the front desk we were told that check in wasn't until 3 PM. After a very long drive and wanting to get settled it wasn't the reception that we needed. Thankfully someone else came to the front desk and checked us in since the rooms were obviously ready. The receptionist wanted us to wait an hour for a room that was ready. I can tolerate the place for a day or two since I wasn't planning to be there much. There are better places to stay in Murrells Inlet and Pawley's Island that are reasonably priced. read more

I have yet to write a bad review on anything as my experiences at hotels and restaurants have been positive however, my niece and her family (3 small children) booked a stay here for thanksgiving weekend. My brother and I went to visit her last night and I was very disappointed in the room. Stains on the carpet, old furniture and just not a nice room at all. The bathroom tub drain would not drain and no one came to rectify the problem. The kicker though was my niece pulled out the sofa bed so the kids could sleep on it only to find there were no sheets. She proceeded to call the front desk and they told her they had no sheets. NO SHEETS, ain't this a hotel!! I couldn't believe what I was hearing! I was appalled. I told my niece first thing in the morning you are out of here. I still can't believe it. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone; very embarrassing. Paid $80.00 on priceline with tax and fees so I wasn't expecting much. The King size mattress was new because I found a label that had a 4/22/16 delivery date on it as I checked it for bedbugs and thankfully there weren't any. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was ok. The bathroom toilet had a leak which made the floor wet and the front door didn't seem to seal all the way so you could clearly hear the loud people in the pool. Afternoon I was a temporary resident at the Quality Inn in Georgetown. My reservation was initially for December 24. When I arrived, they had me down for 3days but my confirmation was for one day. That was a big mess, then I settled for the next day instead which was the 25th. I checked in on the 25th around 3, room was fine , left to spend time with family. Came back around 7pm to relax and unwind with a little tv&shower. The tv wasn't working, couldn't take a shower(no hot water), lights wasn't working. I paid for this room to relax! I had to go back to my family home to shower. I didn't even stay! Came back around 7am in hopes that things were working and it wasn't. Didn't begin working until checkout time. To add insult to injury... they felt that there was no room for compensation! I understand it was the city, but that had nothing to with me... At the very least, they could've offered a free night stay if you weren't giving my money back. And you just never know who is staying at your establishment. Very nice hotel at great price! The staff was very friendly and gave us great advice about where to eat and how best to get to the ocean. The room was comfortably sized with a great bed and pillows. My friend enjoyed the fitness center and beautifully landscaped pool. The complimentary breakfast was excellent. Options included sausage and eggs as well as pastries and cereal and delicious coffee. The 15 workers staying and working at the hotel had a LOUD drunken party in the parking lot under my window. Started at 5 pm and went until 4:30 am. I complained to the front desk at 11 pm and again at 4:00 am and 4:30 am. I am a strong man and was afraid to go out to my car. Drug addicts and sketchy people everywhere. The parking lot was used as a toilet. Actually watched a drunken fool urinate on my car. You can't make this stuff up. I went down to my car in the morning and there was a huge dent in my fender! This place was fabulous! From the outside it honestly doesn't look like much, but the room was clean, comfy and looked great. The rate was remarkably reasonable and the service was fantastic. The bed was soooooo comfy. We stayed here one night while traveling and would definitely return. read more

For the price, this hotel isn't a great stay. They had a great breakfast and very friendly staff, but the hotel is lacking in overall cleanliness. It is outdated, and there are major issues with the maintenance. My tub drained extremely slow, there was a hole in the bathroom door, and a crack in the front door where it should be shut at the top. The sheets had a stain, and we saw a bug crawling on the wall, although I didn't snap a photo of that. The room smelled nice and had a nice television and mini fridge. The WiFi worked ok. But you could tell that the bathroom isn't being cleaned throughly due to dust and hair on the bath tub. I wouldn't stay again--definitely not for $150/night. The location is convenient to old Georgetown, but I would price this at the $89/night rate at most. read more

Went to Georgetown to see the recent solar eclipse. Check-in was a zoo. We were supposed to be able to check in at 3pm, but had to sit around waiting for our room to be ready until about 4pm. Yes, I understand that you were busy, but being appropriately apologetic would have been nice. When we finally got to the room, it was filthy: 2 squashed bugs on the sofa bed, another 2 squashed bugs attached to the walls. After some going to and fro, they agreed to move us to a smaller room - at a higher price! After I protested, they gave me one night free - which worked out to a more reasonable price. The new room was cleaner, but not great. Breakfast is ok, but not very exciting. After we got home, I got an email inviting me to comment on my stay. I responded with a generally negative set of comments. Towards the end of the comments, I was invited to post a review on their website. I wrote a generally negative review. In response, I got an email from the Sales Director of the hotel, apologizing for the inconveniences. But my review was never posted on their website (which says: "Real Guest Reviews. 100% Genuine Opinions."). I responded to the sales director, asking why the review had not been posted. But emails to that address repeatedly bounced. Similar emails to various email addresses from Choice Hotels' website have gone unanswered, as has a message via their FaceBook page. I note that there are no negative reviews on the hotels website. Leads me to believe that they simply don't post negative reviews. Wow! read more

Disappointed in this Quality Inn stay. Although we had a good location of our room in reference to the courtyard pool...you couldn't use the pool because of a deep cleaning issue due to algae that needed to be done, so the pool was closed for the last 2 1/2 days of our stay without any prior notice. My husband is a certified pool operator and noted that if they upkept the pool maintenance, this should not have occurred. Then, we had a non-smoking room which was pretty decent, but they had butt or cigarette traps outside our room where the contractors who stayed there congregated, using foul language and smokung. It was not pleasant in the least. We always stay at a Choice Hotel when we travel, and this one was a huge disappointment. The continental breakfast was good, but staff was permitted to eat while the guests were eating, rather than having them eat at the end of breakfast time. A couple days some breakfast items were not available probably because of this. I would probably not choose this hotel the next time we visit the area. read more

I first checked in to room 124. The drywall was not finished above the sink so I asked to switch rooms. I was then moved to room 128. In room 128 my daughter found a roach by the air conditioner unit and another bug underneath the pillow. My wife found another woman's hair in the bathroom as well as dirt spots near the wall. This was all after the room was serviced. The next day I told the room service manager what we found. She told me to tell the front desk so I did. They said they would take $20 off the bill but that never happened. The final issue was on the day we checked out of the hotel we knew that breakfast was over at 10 o'clock, so we came down at 9:50 to grab something quickly to eat. The staff responsible for the continental breakfast started cleaning and putting things away before 10 o'clock. And was going as far as putting things away while we were still using them. Her goal was to have everything cleaned up by 10 o'clock not to stop serving at 10 o'clock. When I mentioned something to the front desk manager, the lady working the continental breakfast just laughed and smirked at us.My best recommendation would be to go to the Hampton Inn across the street. read more
