I have suffered with TMJ issues for more than two years and I have tried every home remedy…read moreimaginable. I first thought it was stressed related but when I stopped being stressed and still had the issues, I knew it was something else. I went for a consultation in February 2024 and the team conducted a full series of tests to determine the best course of action for me. I felt confident in the treatment plan and began using a temporary daytime and nighttime appliance while I waited for the permanent appliances. I was happy that my insurance covered some of the treatment (it cost a few thousand with the tests, copays and appliances) but honestly after suffering in pain for years, I would pay anything to heal! I really appreciated the follow-up visits I had every month and they were able to adjust my appliance if I had any issues. I'm happy to say that I am fully weaned off of the daytime appliance in July 2024 after completing the treatment plan and still continue to use the nighttime appliance. I really can't thank the team and doctor Ferzli enough for putting me on the road of recovery. I would recommend to anyone suffering with TMJ!

PA could not really answer questions about cost or type of device they would recommend, etc. She did no benefit check before she saw me. PA left it up to me to call insurance co. search out equipment providers, decide on what equipment to buy, trying to find out costs on diff types of equipment, not knowing what equipment they use. I had to make a decision on zero information so I went elsewhere.

As far as the actual dentist conversation, it was brief and pure quackery based on photos his assistant took and his 'glance' at the computer screen. More tests you ask me to stay for and not even covered by insurance? That tells me something about the office approach to a medical need and what my insurance feels is not medically appropriate at all. Worth the consult if you need something at night and desperate, otherwise keep researching. This office knows how desperate your are for relief and they prey on it.

I gave him my Insurance card and he proceeded to have his nurse gather all of my information. When he came in, he asked if I wanted him to examine me? Well of course!!! That's why I was there in a lot of pain!!! He immediately brought in the nurse and proceeded to do all kinds of Radiology, Ultrasound, and Nuclear technological exams. Also checking my posture!!! WHAT!!! TMJ?????? His next step was that he wanted to do a Sleep Study and then create a mouth mold for sleeping. I already have one! What I found out later was that HE DOES NOT TAKE MY INSURANCE!!!! HIS NURSE KNEW THAT AND THEY LET IT MOVE FORWARD! ALL OUT-OF-POCKET! HE DOESN'T DESERVE EVEN PULLING YOUR CAR INTO HIS PARKING SPACE!!!! TOOK ADVANTAGE OF ME. DOESN'T FEEL GOOD!!! STAY AWAY! Mays and Mays are the nicest people you want to meet, they are friendly and professional and their assistants/hygienists are the same. Their facility is great and you can tell they keep up with the latest technology and techniques, they also focus on keeping the patient comfortable. The only area they can improve on is billing, and I can only imagine the insurance companies make that more of a challenge than the staff at Preston Dental. I could not recommend a better dental practice.

I went to the appointment and got very state of the art x rays (very impressed) but instead of getting an actual cleaning, the dentist spent over 30 minutes going over a "Treatment Plan." He said every one of my teeth needed to have something done, which included a deep cleaning ($2400), all of my fillings replaced, and a crown. Mind you, none of my teeth had been having any issues. They sent me home saying they weren't going to clean my teeth as their was "no point" and that they would give me a credit of $50 towards the Deep Cleaning... Not a happy Camper to say the least.
