TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT! Hired David to fix a leak in my chimney and the leak actually got worse. He…read moreeven agreed, but when I contacted David he tried charging me another $840. The new crown after just 2 days was cracked everywhere. Then he became very personal talking about my wife, a 10 year old boy and accused me of being drunk. I am now in the process with the Attorney General's office and Angi's List to request David to do what he was hired for. Unfortunately I am out $2100. The quality of David's work is sad, but his service is beyond ridiculous! I just hope this review will save someone from all these headaches. Believe me, you do not want to deal with David.

Wow! I just read the one and only review for this company as I'm writing this and . . . I don't…read moreknow what to say. Thankfully I didn't read it before I called them. They just finished repairing my chimney today and I couldn't be happier. David bid the job in a no nonsense way: "this is what you need, this is what the price is and this is when I'll do it," at another company was going to charge me and did a phenomenal job! And quickly! The tech, Dom, showed up at the scheduled time with the fabricated chimney caps and all of the other materials required and worked efficiently and neatly (tarped everything on the deck) and was a an absolute professional. Not only did he go above and beyond, he cleaned my skylights and all of the unsightly mold around our chimney, and . . . was a pleasure to work with. I've never had to repair a chimney before and I thought "I'll just call somebody." Well, it got off to a rough start (had to cancel the first contract that I somehow felt compelled to sign, but Kentucky law gives you 72 hours to cancel; it took me 30 minutes), until I contacted Chimney Experts (no contract, nothing up front). Start here.

Do not use this place for HVAC services. I have a 2-10 Home Warranty service and he was the closest…read morecontractor to me. I got a call on Tuesday from 2-10 saying Blackwood would give me a call by the end of the day. No call, so I call him at the end of the work day. He said yeah I can get to you either Wed. Or Thursday this week. Just let me get back to the office and look at my schedule and will let you know. Never got a call back on Tuesday. Wednesday no call at all. Thursday in the afternoon I get tired of waiting, so I call him. He says first thing tomorrow morning (Friday) since I am out of his normal service range and he would leave early to be here at around 8AM for me. So I call into work for half a day, 8 AM, no show, no call, no text, no update. Wait until 10:30, still nothing. I try to call, text, no response. I call my warranty place, they call him, he answers and says he is headed that way right now, his service is less than an hour from my house. So I wait until 2:30 PM - still no show. So I call the warranty place again. They can't get ahold of him, so they cancel his service and are going to find me a new contractor. Not even 20 minutes after that, he calls me for the first time himself (every other time I had to call) and asked why I canceled. I had to miss an entire days work, and going on over an entire week without AC. 3 different days he said he would be here. Every day, no call, no show. Never even a sorry or apologies. It takes 30 seconds to send a text or call and say something came up just running behind. I am a union trade worker, and this makes us all look incompetent, unprofessional, and unreliable. I would stay well away.

The owner called me back within fifteen minutes and began to trouble shoot everything over the phone. I was very impressed with his knowledge and how he was able to guide me around my furnace over the phone by describing exactly what I was looking at. He guided me to the problem and was able to get one of my units up and going with something he would find easy, but something I would not have known to do! The second unit was not as easy but he again began to troubleshoot some things to lower what he would have to do when he was able to come out to my house. Due to the trouble shooting over the phone, he arrived early on Monday and was able to have the second unit going in the matter of 30 minutes. I cannot express how amazing the communication was and how crystal clear his instructions were to get me some sort of Air in my house on a hot summer day!
