For example I got a brand new REI Flash air pad, wide for $65. I got a brand new SmartWool base layer for $50. And their used gear is priced to move as well. The staff here are super helpful, patient, and will always point you in the right direction even if it's to another store. They clearly live the lifestyle of the products that they sell. I live about 2 and 1/2 hours away and if I call they will hold something until the weekend for me if it's what I'm looking for.

Our place we stayed at was just minutes from the old town and plaza so we were there often. as a fun idea for Christmas we deiced we would get each other at least one gift from New Mexico while there. The plaza ended up a spot we went back to over and over as it was always festive, and has many shops. But many of the shops had the same items, and most were more of a tourist type of gift. I came back to Happy Hiker 3 times, and my daughter and I love a New Mexico hike. I finally settled on a monocular(like binoculars but for just 1 eye. She loved it. It was a brightly colored one with durable rubber coating. I did end up getting a couple other smalls things as well. It helped that the people working there were very friendly. Its nice to see the different New Mexican goods, but also nice to have a nice niche shop with cool unique things as well.

My words of Big 5 advice for the consumer win: + I know some of those shoes look like a bargain, but not so fast. Every boot, sandle and sneaker I've ever purchased from this company has suffered a mystery malfunction within weeks. Cracked soles, missing eyelets, frayed laces. Weird. + Same goes for the clothing. Strange design decisions like shallow pockets, poor stitching and uncomfortable materials have taught me to avoid active gear altogether. + Big 5 is your go-to for big brand names at fair prices, particularly camping gear and sporting goods. If it has a recognizable name and it's on sale, it's probably a wise buy. My latest wins: a sun shade for the Rio Grande beach (because Covid), a pingpong table (because Covid), dart board (because Covid) and fishing rod (because Covid).

They've got tactical style boots, backpacks, luggage/gear bags. I've had one of their rollers bags for 10 years that has gone on almost all of the flights I've been on and despite gorilla baggage handlers still looks pretty good. The sales staff here was friendly and helped us quite a bit. Especially pointing out the sales stuff and making sure we knew all of the bargains to be had. It was a great stop and we saved a lot more money than we spent!

went to them due to the reviews and that they work on old revolvers. brought a 1948 K22 22 lr…read morerevolver that was out of time in 2 chambers and told them about the problem. told them it's a k22, charlie starts rapidly dry firing the gun 3 times before I can say "please stop doing that it's a rimfire". states the gun is in time. i show him the out of time 2 chambers and he says you are pulling the trigger too slow(which i was in order to check timing). he says there's nothing to fix. the problem is now there's peening on the cylinder from the firing pin strike and my firing pin is flattened from being dry fired without snap caps. this gun was in good condition for a 1948 gun and handled roughly with some damage after "inspection".

From dummy grenades to manikin heads, it's here! Then, oh my goodness, wander out back in the "yard" and your jaw will drop five inches! I could have sworn I saw components of the Philadelphia Experiment out there! A sea of metal cabinets, lockers and safes! ATTENTION aspiring restaurateurs: They have a whole mess of used kitchen equipment! Stainless Steel Sinks in various sizes, large ovens and everything in between. Someone called him from a number that was very similar to the store number, but not the same. We got there a few minutes after the store opened and went to the back to the gun counter, checked in, and were helped right away. They went to look for the gun but couldn't find it, so they checked their computer and it showed that it hadn't been delivered yet, but would be there in two days. Great. We started to leave, but headed back to make sure they had my husband's correct info to contact him (because he hadn't gotten an email he was supposed to receive), and we decided to ask for the tracking number so that we could know for certain when it arrived. I looked up the tracking number and it showed the gun had been delivered two days prior--it was there somewhere. So we showed them, and they looked in the back for about fifteen minutes before someone emerged and told us they had found it on someone's desk. Whew! So then my husband filled out all his info for the background check and when that was all done we were told there was a seven day waiting period. Well, that goes against Federal law, but whatever. We came back 8 days later, when they called and said we could pick it up, and that went smoother, just took awhile to get helped. So moral of the story--check your tracking if they say they don't have your gun!

It's worth signing up for their emails because you can stay ahead of the specials that way - however this can be injurious to your wallet. I just visited to select, buy and pick up a new heater and I want to make a point to thank both Lance and Ray at the gun counter - they were friendly in addition to being professional and their spirit made these visits nice. Sportsman's Warehouse doesn't get five stars only because they are so brutally understaffed at the gun counter - it simply takes a long time to get anything done because there aren't enough staff there to handle the amount of business they have going on. I'm sort of surprised that management doesn't address this, as I see people getting tired of waiting and walking out of the store every single time that I visit. Management, you're leaving money in their wallets: they came to spend it, and you don't have enough staff to take it - get with the program!
