The NEW Electra Black from Quady Wines

Come by and try the wines. The Electra Black just released and not available in stores. My wife loves them all and there isn't one she didn't like. Especially in slushy form!

Jessica was very nice and knowledgeable of the wines. I love all the variety of sweet wines they have. They also have vermouth, port and sherry. I really enjoy their wines that I joined the wine club.

If you love sweet sweet wines, Quady is the place for you. They have several Muscat's that have a very vibrant fruity finish. What I loved about Quady is their two ports and vermouth. The ports were very outstanding. However, we ended up purchasing Quady's Sweet Vermouth. I am definitely a port enthusiast but I am also a Manhattan lover and their vermouth will make a very good Manhattan. From the vermouth you will get notes of Cardamom, cinnamon, allspice. Very interesting indeed.

Quady Winery had a booth at the JLSD Food and Wine Festival and they were offering a tasting flight of their sweet wines! Most vendors only offer the dry stuff, so I was excited to discover these wines. My favorites were the Electra moscatos because they were light, crisp, and refreshing. I want to order some now and found out that they can be found locally as well.

Not open on weekend? They seriously need to update their website, Yelp, Google, and automated phone service.

Update (in response to comment): Yes, we knocked on the tall double doors, which has a sign that states "Tasting Room". We also heard people talking on the other side of the doors. That's why we knocked 3 times very loudly. 15 minutes later, still nobody opened the door. We also tried to pull the door handles really hard. Maybe not locking the doors during business hours could help :) -- We came all the way from Selma, CA on Sunday, July 7, 2019. Arrived at 12:30pm. Yelp, Google, their website, and phone automated service say they are open Sunday starting 12pm. We knocked 3 times and lingered around for 15 minutes. Nobody answered the door. The winery sign states they are only open M - F. Very misleading and disappointed.

If you love sweet wines, this is the place. For party's under 10 people, tasting is free and you can taste whatever they have. This place is small but they are building another building currently (2018). I started drinking their Electra wine over 10 years ago and still love it. Occasionally, I'll see it available at the local Costco in Fresno. Something special here that I haven't had anywhere else is they give you a tasting of their alcohol infused chocolate syrup with vanilla ice cream. This is deadly cuz you can't taste the alcohol. In addition to this, they have moscato slushy for you to sample. They were both super yummy!! Their wine club is economical with 3 different options and you get 25% off wines and 10% of merchandise. This place is definitely worth stopping for!

We drove 4 hours to get to Quady Winery. When I say I love Electra wine, I mean it. We enjoyed the wine tasting and wine slushy. Jessica was amazing. She is very knowledgeable and fun. Thank you Jessica for making us feel like family.

Ask the Community - Quady Winery

Are the slushies only offered during the summertime?

Hi Juanita, the slushies are only around during the warm months - from mid-April though the end of October. However, you can always make them at home yourself with a bottle of our Electra and some time in your freezer!

My favorite was the Red Electra (a mix of the orange and black muscats).

I'm not a big wine fan so usually I'll do the slurp thing to taste the notes or take a sip or two and then pass my glass off to my husband, rather than dumping it. I've been to umpteen wineries around California, the US and internationally. This winery gives, hands down, the stingiest pours I've ever experienced. I could maybe get two sips out of a pour. And yet this tasting was $15 for 4 wines, but if you're a party of 6 or more, the fee for the same tasting goes up to $20 per person! Since when does pouring maybe a half ounce into more glasses warrant everyone in the party being charged $5 more bucks a piece? It feels stingy. I went to 4 wineries in the same weekend I visited Crū. J. Lohr in Paso charges $20 per person for 6 generous pours and a free pencil with herb seeds to plant at home. Eberle Winery in Paso does free tastings and yet have generous pours, free bottled water and a free tour of the underground storage facility. Quady in Madera charges $5 per person for a tasting and not only were the pours generous, we tried 7 wines, got to double back on our favorites before we ordered a half case. The server was nice and personable. I have no complaints about her. Overall it doesn't feel like a fun wine tasting experience when it seems like they're rationing their wine. While not the end of the world, there isn't much of a view for the outdoor patio because the tasting room patio is between the building and a fence with a road on the other side. If you're wanting to see vineyards while you sip, this isn't the spot for you. There was also a couple with a toddler at a table - with an iPad, playing a video outloud without headphones - while the parents were wine tasting inside, so just know that kids are allowed if that matters to you. It was nice because driving into here they had a sign in the front saying closed for a private event. So we had the whole winery to ourselves, felt very intimate. 3 Oaks was super accommodating with all the cute customization. They had one wine bottle with a happy birthday sticker of my friend's name on it. There was a hanged chalk sign at the bar with a happy birthday message, and the wine tasting menu also had a happy birthday message on there with his name that we got to keep. The winery itself is medium size. It looks like it's someone's back yard because there was a house with a pool and the rest of the land is the vineyard. They had so many chickens walking around. Our host Chris, told us that we the head leader chicken was name Marshmallow which was so cute. You park in this rock lot and the walk to the winery which is very close. We got to sit under the shade during the sun light because our reservation was 6:30pm. Although, it was very hot to sit outside for the summer time. There were some ceiling fans to help us stay cool in the 100 degree weather. They offered ice cold water cups as well. We were able to bring our own food and cake for the event. They had so many different types of vineyards with signs on them. It was very pretty. The barn and the seating areas had a cute hang out charm to it. Chris was wonderful with his hosting skills and his service was above and beyond my expectations. He was very personable and nice. He helped us put the food out on the table, placed utensils around, and took a bunch of pictures for our group. He also was very informative about all the wines and ingredients. He was pretty funny knowing some random facts too. I enjoyed talking to him. He even gave us some tips about taking photos during the sunset for golden hour. My friend ended buying a bottle and I believe it was $32. All the wines tasted delicious. The unique flavors tasted rich. My favorite was the Yacamastu Tempranillo for red and 2023 Pammie Grigio for white. Too bad we couldn't taste Rosé wines cuz they were sold out. The tasting itself was $35/person which was not bad. It was my boyfriend's first time wine tasting and he enjoyed too. Bathrooms were nice and clean just very hot. Saw they have board games, nice lounge areas, and merch shop. It's nice that they hold even other events like yoga. I definitely would come back to this vineyard. I thought it was sweet that the owner requested for our group photos thank you!

The place is really cute and super tiny compared to a lot of wineries in madera. It has a cute bar area with really nice chairs and a little area to buy books and market items. We sat down at the bar area and didn't get greeted right away it took a few minutes it seemed like they were overwhelmed with all of the people there. We wanted 3 tastings in the hopes to have a charcuterie board and get a bottle of wine if we liked one of them. While sitting there a couple who had a baby sat at the bar and both were drinking wine (sorry I don't think it's okay) I understand parents need a day or night out (I'm a parent too) but babies don't belong at wineries or breweries. It's just how I feel. While sitting at the bar area the owners and whoever else the ladies were to the establishment didn't have it together they all kept overstepping one another and they looked and seemed overwhelmed. And they kept talking about it in front of us. I found out the new owners have only been there 6 months. So I understand they're still trying to figure things out. But it did take awhile to get a new pour, so I finally asked after 3 tastings if we can buy a charcuterie board, one of the ladies told me they don't have anymore they were sold out. We were bummed because we were hungry, and they didn't have any snacks to buy. So we were on our last tastings and out of nowhere a board appears and was now being bought from the couple with the baby who also got to sample the slushie they serve as well. We left unhappy and not understanding why they just lied to us about not having a board for sale. The wine was great but how we were treated compared to the people around us not so much. It's so unfortunate to like something so much but the service that's given to you and different for others is not okay. I love trying new places but sometimes it's not what's it's cut out to be.
