This company is refusing to refund me after they cancelled my 4 hour session that was fully paid for with less than 24 hours notice! I booked a reservation for a bachelor party and was canceled on the day before after driving 4+ hours to Borrego Springs. They canceled due to high heat warning even though we knew the risks we were taking and they initially said as long as we bring enough water they will let us go out. The company proceeded to fully cancel our 4 hour session the day of and stated they would provide a refund. I'm fine if they had legitimate safety concerns, which they did. However, John from the company has become non responsive to my texts and is telling me the "refund went through on our end" but it has not and I am disputing this with my credit card company. The company is still refusing to refund my $1000+ payment but I have proof of all of this communication and will be getting my money back eventually. I highly recommend you stay away from a business that operates this way! read more

This is my first review ever and I am taking the time because this company QUADSTOP is the WORST!! I booked a quad a week prior to going to the desert. We picked up the quad Saturday morning and were told the only one they had was a very small yellow quad with no headlight so that meant no night riding. They offered no discount so my son rode it back to our RV and when he arrived he said the brakes barely worked and the seat fell off. Very dangerous!! This "last" quad was substandard and mechanically unsound. I called the QUADSTOP and it took them over 2 hours to bring what looked like a bigger, nicer one with a head light. Finally, after over 3 hours of all this my fiancé, brother and son headed out for a ride. They wanted to ride earlier because it was 91 degrees now. Within one hour of riding the 2nd quad broke down and wouldn't start. 2 hours later a very nice 16 year old young man arrived in a 4 seat Cam Am type vehicle. He could not get it started. I wasn't looking or I would have stop the 16 year old from towing the quad on a small rope with my son on the quad. My son should have been I stopped by on our way out to ask for a refund and was given a card and told to call the owner in the morning which I did. I believe this name was TIM he was incredibly rude and said my son rode all day which is a complete lie. He offered to refund the overnight fee which we never had it overnight as it was towed back that same afternoon. He didn't offer any type of apology or compensation. I even offered to pay for the hour my son rode. He said "No". QUADSTOP ruined our trip because no one could ride, not my brother or fiancé's motorbikes they own due to having to manage this unfortunate situation with my son and the rental. I told the owner I was going to dispute the charge with my credit card company and he said "Go head" and hung up. I look at the charged right after the call there were three $300 dollar charges!! Came out to Borrego Springs w/the family for the first time & didn't know what to expect...being the desert, we assumed there was not much to do... We decided to book ATV rentals for 2 days. Day 1, we rented quads & went off to the trails across the street past the airport. It was so much fun! The trails & terrain weren't too difficult. We were all first-time quad users. My 13 & 15 year olds had no trouble at all. Day 2, we went in a 5-seater side-by-side. Equipment ran perfect & had zero problems. First day, we had the guy w/the beard help us (sorry didn't catch his name), but he was great. Explained all the basics & showed us how to use the quads. Next day, we got Tim & he was another cool guy. Easy peasy. Advice: use the map (they'll give you one) & review it ahead of time--there's little to no cell reception out there. Use a credit card to book, as your damage deposit is held and it takes a few days for that hold to drop off. Bring plenty of water & snacks. If you go in a side-by-side, bring a cooler. We'll be visiting Borrego Springs again & will def come here for rentals. read more

The staff is great, and they're easy to work with and chill. I appreciated the transparent communication and ease of renting from Jeremy and Tim. They're easily the best part about Quadstop. But they need to SERIOUSLY invest in making a better product available, and not rent out the bottom-of-the-barrel scrap heaps they're charging $200+ for. The quad I reserved was meant to be a 400, but in actuality it was a 350--that sort of irked me since I was deprived 50cc's I had paid for to upgrade. I was told if I wanted to "upgrade to the big boys (450+), it came with an additional fee." The quad I rented was semi-decent, at best. It had a broken/snapped cradle around the back disc brake area, a cracked exhaust plate, loose clutch lever, a finicky transmission switch, and more. Basically it made noises when I rode it that it's not meant to make. The goggles were scratched and seen one too many days. They need to be replaced. Same for most of their helmets. Luckily my buddy had an extra pair of goggles I could use. If you're in a pinch, or out in the desert for a day on like a bachelor party and just want something to mess around in then Quadstop will suffice. But if you're out there to take in a serious ride with a decent quad that doesn't make you nervous to ride it then you're better off bringing out your own, or finding an alternative. read more

Pros: I rented 3 quads on 2/16. but only ended up using two as someone wasn't feeling up to it. We had a blast and everything was great with the quads. They even gave us gloves to use when we returned mid-day to refuel. It was during this refuel that I told Quadstop they could rent out the 3rd quad for the remaining half-day and if they wanted to give us a free refuel or something, that would be nice but not expected. At the end of day, we returned the quads and received verbal confirmation we'd receive our security deposit back in a few business days. They also informed me they had ended up renting the quad and offered to refund the full price of the rental, but I told them only to refund $200. Cons: They never followed through on returning the security deposit or refunding the $200. I messaged with the owner via Yelp on March 4th and he apologized and stated he'd make the refund a priority. Given the owner's circumstances he listed in the attached message screenshot, I waited until March to start the dispute process with American Express for the $900 security deposit. I have now been informed the merchant is denying the claim even after I furnished the Yelp message confirming he owed me the refund. I would not recommend this merchant due to their deceptive practice. read more

Edit in response to the Quadstop rep: If the vehicle had been towed because we were double riding, we would have GLADLY paid that fee and continued riding. The fact is, it wasn't. It was towed because of your inability to correctly register the vehicle. It would have happened on a random check, or in the event of an incident in the future, and that is not our fault. I did not pay to rent an improperly registered vehicle. I'm looking forward to receiving my deposit back! Thank you. This company rented us an unregistered quad. The last time it had been registered was in 2009, to a different owner. We found this out after sitting in the desert for almost 2 hours while the police towed the unregistered vehicle, after which we spent another hour or so waiting for a ride back to camp. When we returned to the rental location, the owner assured me he refunded my money. He refunded me the $180 for the rental, but not my $300 deposit. I'm sure the justification there is that he is now out one machine. That is not my fault. Had I not been riding an illegal vehicle, his quad wouldn't have been towed. My other issue is that he never mentioned that he would be keeping the deposit for such an unfounded reason. Had he said that while I was on site, I would've disputed it there. My last issue with the situation is that after completely ruining one of our two days at the camp, he didn't offer a discount or FREE rental to make up for it, as almost any honest company would do. I've tried calling four times over two separate days. They haven't picked up and their mailbox is full. Incredibly poorly run company, extremely high prices. You're better off going to American ATV Rentals. Lower prices and they offer andovernight, 2 day rental for a good price. Wish I would've done that. read more

I rented their Yamaha YXZ1000r, Im live in phoenix, I was hesitant to rent one because I have friends who have had bad experiences renting ATV's. But I really wanted to ride one because Im interested in buying a YXZ. So, I decided to gamble and take a chance on Quadstop. Im glad I did. I rented a 2019 YXZ and the machine was in excellent condition. Zero issues and the service was also 5 stars. I can't speak of their other machines for rent, but I had a great time in the YXZ which was in great condition. So, if you are like me and are on the fence about using a rental, don't hesitate, go for it. This company isn't going to try and hit you with a bunch of hidden fees. Highly recommend it. Had to change my review. I was charged $$1500 security deposit, when I called the owner told me not to panic, they are going to refund my account. That was a week ago. Called today no answer. Called my bank to dispute the $1500 deposit that never should have been charged. They said they only put a hold on it upon agreeing to the rental. In reality they charge and and I guess you have to hope they stay on top of their accounting department. Went from a great experience to a very stressful one. Latest Update: Finally got my $1500 deposit back. My bank got it back. Quadstop did nothing. Left several message with Quadstop, not one return calL. I can't recommend this company. STAY AWAY! Tim the guy who has worked there for awhile was great. The new guy who I suspect is giving out fake names so he isn't ID'd in every review is a liar. They tried to keep the deposit claiming engine damage. There was nothing wrong with the bike at all and at first he just claimed he didn't know why we didn't get our deposit back and would look into it and let us know. We never heard back and called again only to get a BS story about engine damage. LIES! The new guy possibly owner is scamming people for deposit. There are multiple other rental companies out there, use them instead. We've used this place 4 times in the past and never again. SCAM SCAM SCAM! We rented a Yamaha Wolverine from Tim that was clearly in an accident and rolled over. We did a full walk around video prior to leaving the facility. We drove about 300 ft and the thing overheated because the radiator was blown. Tim explained that he would refund our money when we gave him the SXS back. When I asked for a written confirmation he said "I'm an honest guy why are you on my back". $600 later and 3 weeks I disputed my credit card and he fought the dispute. Fantastic and accommodating service, amazing endless trails to ride, and the sweetest staff! The new owners John and Jason provided my friends and I with the best ATVing experience. My experience here was incredible. Jeremy was awesome, kind, and super helpful every step of the way. I wanted to do something adventurous to celebrate my birthday, and renting ATVs was something new for me. Jeremy was super helpful, responsive, and friendly right off the bat even though I had never done this before. His first priority was making sure we were comfortable, safe, and happy. My group had a great experience with this company! Went basically on the hottest day of the year lol..The two gentlemen who ran the place were honest and friendly. They had maps available, and the guy with the wild hairstyle led us to the starting point, suggested where to go, and made sure we knew what we were doing before we went on our way. They gave us waters afterward and let us cool off for a bit under their canopy. Their price included 4hrs of riding, which was more than enough time for us. This was one of the best experiences I've had with renting off-road vehicles. My buddy and I called Tim during the off-season (mid-September) & he answered right away. He was very helpful in explaining where to go & what the process was. When we arrived, he had the TRX400 & Warrior all tuned up, gassed up & ready to go. He was helpful in explaining the routes & where to go and then left us with a 5 gallon tank of fuel, in the event we needed to refill. Not only were the vehicles tuned up well & ready to go, but he was also cheaper than all of the other vendors (who did not answer). We were able to park the car, hop on the quads & ride all day. My fiancé and I rented a couple quads here for a full day. They set us up with everything we needed, gave us water, and some instruction. Not only did they give us a trail map, but also drew out the best route for us to take on our morning ride. They told us they would give us more routes for our afternoon ride when we returned to refuel. We had a blast out there!!! The machines ran perfect and got us everywhere we wanted to go. When we returned after our morning ride, we had to call it a day and didn't get to hit the afternoon routes because we were too tired. We have rented from Quadstop twice and both times have been a fantastic experience! The first time we rented six quads (our four kids range in age from 10-15) and we all had so much fun! The second time we rented it was just my son and I, we rented dirt bikes and again, had the BEST time! We love Quadstop! My husband and I wanted to celebrate his 40th by going out to Borrego without the kiddos. My husband rides but I'm normally with the kids. This time he rented me a 350 because I was a little nervous about having to use a clutch and follow them around. They got me in and out on the 350 really quick (helmet, goggles and gloves included). Jeremy was great and super friendly. He even let me take a cold Monster from his fridge! More than that, when my husband's clutch cable broke half way through the day, Jeremy knew where to send him down the road to get it fixed ASAP. AND again, while I was waiting Jeremy offered me a cold water. But I can't forget to mention Tim and his four legged friend, Benny. :) So great! Tim let us borrow two bungee cords when my brother ran out fuel in the wash coming back. And Benny is the sweetest dirt biking dog ever! We had an eventful but awesome day riding! We will definitely use Quadstop each time we rent and send our friends because we know Jeremy and Tim will take great care of them! read more

Do not go here!!! Choose the other places down the road. They have no intention on returning your deposit. They told us it would be 7-10 business days since all of the equipment was returned in same condition as picked up, but the money was never returned. We needed to contact our banks to report. We have been trying to communicate with them for close to a month to try and get the money back but have not succeeded. They were anything but responsive or sensitive to the issue. I called Quadstop the day before a last minute desert trip. I was interested in renting a smaller dirt bike. I wasn't sure exact size so i told them I am 5'2 and would like something comfortable for me. They were super helpful and suggested the 125ttr. I asked them if I needed to put a deposit for it to be held for me for the next day he said no problem just come on in. I got there the next day at 8am and he had everything set up for me and ready to go. It took about 15 minutes to get the bike and get going which was awesome since my friends were waiting back at camp. I had no issues with the bike and had the best time. I will definitely be renting from them and referring them to any of my friends for rentals. read more

Our experience with Quadstop was great. I have to admit we were slightly weary of the place after reading all of the reviews regarding problems with deposits but we experienced no such thing! The guys that worked there were super laid back, nice and informative. They explained everything that we needed to know and even took the time to make sure that we had the "supplies" we needed such as water and snacks. They made sure that we knew our deposits may take a few weeks to drop off of our credit cards... which we knew....and judging by the reviews many people don't understand. Our deposits were returned less than a week after our visit. After reading all of these reviews it's my opinion that most people leaving negative feedback had a negative experience due to their lack of knowledge regarding how deposits work or because they were doing something they shouldn't have been doing, which doesn't warrant a negative review for the business. You're renting an expensive machine that needs upkeep and gas so I felt that the price was pretty fair and the deposit seemed more than fair given that there are many inexperienced riders renting these expensive machines. Overall we had a great/fun experience. We went when it was way too hot so keep that in mind but again, the guys that worked here made sure we knew what we were getting into and they even offered to exchange our hot water bottles with cool water once we got back! This rental is ripping of customers like us. We have 3 families and got several ATV and UTV from them. They didn;t both to do any inspection at beginning, when we return the ATV and told us we have to be responsible for few scratches on one side of the fender. (They have scratches all over the vehicle and cut on the seat fabric.) Yet, they single out one single area and forced us to pay for $603.00 for these scratches that is not for sure done by us. Myself and 2 friends came out here to rent dirtbikes for the day. Getting set up and on the trail was a pretty quick and easy process and riding around ocotillo wells was an absolute blast. The gentlemen who run the business are extremely helpful, kind, and fair. One of my friends took a spill out on a trail which resulted in some damage to the machine. When we returned their primary concern was if my friend had gotten injured and secondarily they examined the bike's damage. We were honest with them about what happened and they were honest and fair on the costs of repair. Definitely plan to return and rent machines from Quadstop again and bring some more friends to experience it. Came back again. They have added a ton of new machines and had the same great service and experience as last time. Will definitely be returning here again. This was my first time with a group of friends. We had an easy process checking in. We had called and talked to Tim beforehand and when showed up to women (who I can't remember their names) helped us get checked in. They were full of banter and we had fun and ease checking in. They explained a few minutes of how to start and use the ATV. I was pretty nervous to ride as most of my friends grew up riding, unfortunately a few minutes into the ride I went over a bump & flipped over. My friends were able to get the ATV flipped over, and take me back to the checkin area. Lots of people back at the shop were helpful, some nurses around got me patched up and recommended a local ER to go to. While it wasn't the ideal way to end my ATV ride, I really appreciated the helpfulness of staff. Without prompt, they called us and also provided us a refund.
