I made a forty mile trip (each way) to try out Q's Cakes in a vending machine on Radium Springs Rd in Albany. I got the strawberry and the red velvet, and my husband and I shared half of each. The cakes were huge! Easily enough for two people. They were fresh, and actually, quite perfect! Each piece made two servings. They were so good that we made the trip again the next day for another piece. I told my husband this time we could get one piece and share it, but no, he wanted his own so he would have leftovers for later! A vending machine for cake?! Pros - Most of what we had was really good. Chicken n Waffles, Red Velvet cheesecake, and the Cathy 59 all rocked. Everyone was friendly. Food came out quick. Cons - A little cramped. Loud music was playing, we had to talk really loud just to have a conversation. Strawberry shortcake had no strawberries and they used the fake syrup on it instead. I probably would not eat in the building again just because of the size but I would swing in and get something to go. If they fixed the loudness of the music and used strawberries this would have been an easy 4/5. read more

I visted this establishment for lunch on yesterday. Upon walking into the shop I was greeted by a wonderful smell and colorful cakes. The shop is pretty small so I wouldn't recommend it for large groups. The menu is pretty confusing but they have daily specials listed so I asked to order the doobie 35 as it was the special for the day. I do not eat pork and every single sandwich on the menu had a form of pork except the turkey burger which I wasn't in the mood for. They accommodated my request and made my delicious turkey sandwich on chibatta bread with lettuce, tomatoe, and a nice flavorful. I also had chips and a drink that came with my meal. There isn't a variety of chips just plain lays and bottled sodas and water. I just wished there was juice. We tried some treats from this establishment. The turtle brownie was good however super rich. The blondie was just meh for me but that probably is because it's something I rarely order. The winner of the taste test was the pineapple cake. It was so moist and simply delicious. Hands down the most delicious pineapple cake. My sister loves their turkey burgers. read more

I discovered Q's cakes on yelp because I was traveling from Chicago for the Thanksgiving holiday and I knew that I wouldn't have time to bake dessert so I took a chance on trying a new bakery. Q's desserts did not disappoint at all. I ordered the red velvet cake and 2 sweet potato pies. Both desserts were definitely homemade and cooked to perfection. I will definitely order more desserts in the future when I'm visiting family in Albany, Georgia. read more

I've only tried the Carmel cake and it was tasty. One thing I didn't like was how flaky the cake was but again, it was a tasty cake.

My mom orders desserts from here ALL THE TIME and they are always so delicious! My sister told me that she now has sandwiches so we decided to have lunch there. We both got a turkey burger which comes with lettuce or spinach with cheese and tomato on a ciabatta bun. It was amazing!!! I haven't had a good turkey burger in so long I almost cried (dramatics but it was that good). I also got the strawberry cheesecake which was bomb! And just the right amount of sweetness not too much and perfect fruit amount. I also got a brownie (her brownies are my favorite) they are always so moist and so good if I wasn't trying to lose weight I would throw that bad boy on some ice cream with fudge and call it a day. And I also got a pecan bar for my sister. The staff is always so polite and welcoming! The decor inside is bright and cheerful which I really like because Albany can look dull. 10/10 would recommend!! And I didn't forget pictures this time. My daughter brought me a peanut butter bar from this business last week and it was stale. it was not fresh at all and was fit for the trash can. This place normally has good stuff, but it was apparent that they would rather sell something not fit to eat rather than loose the money. It was a lost to me. On the bottom of the peanut butter bar was something red. Most of the time they are good, but they can have their off days and this was one of them. read more

Excellent customer service!!! All of her treats are delicious... She will let 1st time customers sample as well!!! The red velvet cheesecake is "all that" and more... Such a treat for a small city, that doesn't have a Cheesecake Factory!!! read more

Personally, I have not be in this place BUT my husband had a friend of ours go out and purchase my birthday cake this year. One of my favorites cakes is a Red Velvet cake w sour cream cream cheese frosting. Our friend came here to get my cake - a Red Velvet with sour cream cream cheese frosting. Let me tell you, this was THE BEST red velvet that I have EVER had' the frosting as nothing less than perfect! And to top it off, they sprinkle chopped walnuts on the top and sides of this cake. If you know about red velvet, it has a tendency to become dry. Not this one! So most! Almost melts in your mouth'. Before my birthday, I had not known about this place. As of now, this is where I will be buying my red velvets. Gonna have to try their caramel cake next. read more

First time visit. I brought my 81 year old father-in-law. When we walked in, we were warmly greeted. You go to the far wall and fill out what you'd like to eat, and what condiments you'd like with your food order. The service was great and soooo friendly. I had the chicken salad which had a good taste and was served on a homemade bun, but maybe just a little too much mayo for my taste, but I was there for dessert anyways. lol. I had the FRESHEST, most delicious caramel cake ever!!! The cafe was located in Merry Acres shopping center on Dawson Rd. next to PT gym and not 1818 Gillionville Rd. as stated above. They also make whole cakes for pickup, and all kinds of baked goods. Its appears to be a family business and I enjoyed seeing the two boys helping out and learning about customer service. All in all, I'll be back. I want to try the spinach salad with avocado next time. read more
