I'm always so pleased and happy to bring my dog Jagger to see Helen the owner of QQ pet grooming. She always does such an amazing job grooming him and takes such wonderful care of him. I've been all over New York City to find the best groomer and person for my pet. She really takes her time with him, Is so precise with grooming him and works really hard with her business. I would never think of taking him anywhere else In NYC. She Is the very best hands down with keeping and making appointments and really communicates to unsure me Jagger Is ready or ok for pick up. I'm so happy this gem of a business was referred to me several years ago. I wouldn't think of bringing him anywhere else.

I recently adopted a Pitbull, Mochi, from the shelter and he was sooo smelly! I've been researching for someone to take him to get a doggy bath and stumbled across QQPets. It's in my neighbourhood too so I decided to give it a try. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by Ivy and Helen. Helen owns the place and she was very friendly. She immediately took Mochi inside and I waited around an hour and a half to pick him up (it's a small space so take a walk around the neighbourhood and don't overcrowd them). When I picked him up, Mochi came out with a HUGE smile. No fear, no discomfort, no anxiety. That's when you know you scored a good groomer. They must have taken such good care of him while bathing him! He smells SO good, looks so handsome and Helen even gifted Mochi a red bandana to look dapper. I highly recommend this place for your pet and I will be coming back!

I have been taking my pomeranian here for over 3 years now, and now that I'm moving out of the city, QQ Grooming is one of the staples I'm going to miss the most. Seriously, my pom leaves this place looking SO beautiful every time. I highly highly recommend you bring your doggy here if you're looking for a job well done. Thanks Helen! Harper and I will miss you!

Helen is very professional, kind and caring. It was Togo's first visit for grooming. She dedicated a lot of time to Togo and also answered all my questions regarding home care ( such as how to clean his ears, how to brush him...) Togo came out happy, shiny ,super clean and fashionable (with his new Blue bandana from Helen) He was sleeping when I came to pick him up and I did not see any sign of stress. We will definitely come back! I strongly recommend QQ Pets Grooming for first comers and any other dogs that want to have the best experience during the grooming.

This woman knows one cut and pretends to know more than that when you leave the dog in her care. When i came back, the dog was just shaved down. The cuts were blunted and uneven. She uses the excuse that the dog is matted when the dog is brushed everyday and is not matted - especially not enough to warrant this cut. Even so, a cut so drastically different to what i spent 15 minutes explaining would warrant some sort of communication. As i always say, you can always cut more but you can't put it back. When communicating how disappointed I was in this cut, the only reaction was "maybe you don't like my style." I would absolutely not recommend this place, and I plan on sharing that opinion with every dog owner I interact with at the dog run and parks in the area. Severely disappointing - Unless you want a poodle cut, go somewhere else. I'm including pictures of before and after. My dog is an Aussie mix and now he looks like a shitzu.

Finn is definitely easier to bathe now.

My boyfriend took our 5 m.o. puppy, Finn (a wheaten terrier), here for his very first grooming. He can be an absolute terror when it comes to brushing unless you shovel treats into his mouth the entire time, so I was nervous that he might be treated roughly out of frustration and end up hating being professionally groomed. NOT the case here. My boyfriend had only compliments for this spot, saying Finn absolutely loved his groomer and that everyone in the place seemed to genuinely love their animal clients, greeting them enthusiastically with lots of love and pats. They also replicated our picture guides perfectly and I was so glad-- wheatens' first haircuts are already very sad as it basically turns them into a new dog because their fur color grows out from puppy brown to adult white. The fact that they got the haircut just right helped ease the sadness of losing his puppy coloring. With my previous doggy, none of his groomers were particularly friendly, which I understood up to a point, as I'm sure it's a job that probably tries one's patience -- so my boyfriend's glowing review when he returned last Saturday from QQ was such a relief. We live just up the street and QQ's will definitely remain Finn's permanent groomer. For those curious, the total was around $90 for Finn: he's about 25-30 lbs and went in with fairly long, thick fur and we asked for a pretty short cut to finish out the summer with. Another note: love that the owner responds to text messages, even when it's a request to reschedule. SO convenient!

I love the way Helen grooms my toy poodle. I do not live in the area, but will travel with my dog just to go to her! She is attentive and pays extra care to follow special requests, plus my dog ALWAYS gets compliments after a haircut with Helen. Scheduling an appointment via text message is easy and convenient.

Helen is amazing!! She worked her magic on our one year old, highly energetic golden doodle puppy. After hearing horror stories from others about groomers not following instructions, and puppies being shorn too short, I was nervous about Murphy's first grooming experience - Helen put me at ease. Scheduling the appointment was very convenient via text. When we met, we discussed exactly what we wanted and she did precisely what she said she would with Murphy, and took her time with him. We are so happy with the result, and will most definitely be going back. She even included a cute little bandana for Murphy. Don't hesitate to bring your dog here! We picked her after doing a lot of research about groomers across various neighborhoods in the city, and she's the best in terms of quality of work and price.

Helen gave our Cavaooo a great haircut and was very friendly and responsive. We'll definitely go back!

So done. Molly has…read morebeen getting groomed by Laura for eight years. She's an excellent groomer, but she is not great at running her business. Molly has had standing appointments every month, but they're not always followed up, and sometimes, I don't even know when her appointments are. I had expressed my concerns with Laura in the past. Last month, I was supposed to go away on vacation. We had already booked Molly's appointment before my vacation, so I wasn't concerned about it. I asked her for a status update on the day of, and she told me that she had moved her appointment date, and "sorry I didn't update." She didn't even ASK ME if this schedule change was okay to begin with! What the hell? Who is she to just move things around without asking me? When I expressed my frustration at the time, she gave me a very curt/dismissive reply. I called her out on it, then she blamed texting as the reason why it came off that way. Then guess what: work on your texting/communication skills, if that's the way you choose to communicate with your clients. Not to mention that whoever is helping her run the business side of things (Tammy) has been super rude. She even tried to get me to RETROACTIVELY sign a fuel surcharge document for the prior month, when this had never been discussed with me. All of her responses (via text) are super curt, dismissive, and rude. That air of superiority does not work for me. All of the negative reviews about the customer service are accurate. Things were so bad at that time that I texted Laura and said that while I've appreciated everything she had done for Molly, we were going to have to part ways. She and I discussed it, and I was convinced to stay with her. She told me about what she had been struggling with, and I was compassionate to her situation. Things got better for a bit, but not for long. That's the key issue with this place: there is a lack of consistency. Things look "better" for a bit and then drop back into the abyss. Today was the straw that broke the camel's back. Her truck needed servicing. I understand that those types of things are not predictable. Of course I would be understanding of this, but each month comes with some sort of issue. It's hard to consider this a "one off" when it happens more frequently than not. I expressed my frustration and she said she's apologized in the past. I told her that this is causing me anxiety each month. Getting my dog groomed, when her schedule is already booked, should not be this stressful. Her reply: "It is unfortunate that you feel that way. The only anxiety I had today was that I could get my truck repaired in time to not let my people down, and that it wasn't a giant bill. It is my hope that you feel better." It was clear from her response that she has no empathy for others, despite being someone who's used her own mental health issues as an excuse for her past transgressions. "The only anxiety that I had today..." part basically makes it seem like she's diminishing my feelings about being dismissed nearly on a MONTHLY BASIS. So apparently, it's only about herself. By her saying "it is unfortunate that you feel that way," it was clear that this is over and that this is completely irreparable. She takes zero ownership and had no insight into the fact that it's not just about today -- everything is additive and I have not seen things go smoothly for a long time. Apologies can only go so far. She also told me: "I agree that it would be nice if things always ran smoothly all the time, but sometimes we just have to roll with it." There's been a lot of back and forth for many years, a lot of schedule changes, a lot of Molly getting dropped from the schedule, lack of communication, etc. I had been loyal through all of it. I've BEEN rolling with it. Yes, of course it would be nice of your clients to be flexible from time to time... but it shouldn't be all the time. The tone of that also feels like she's asking ME to shoulder HER burden. Unfortunately, it is just time to part ways. They seem to charge a missed appointment fee if cancelling less than 48 hours in advance, and whole amount for no call, no show. Apparently, respect or this policy isn't a two way street. If you notice from other reviews, she's lost several loyal clients due to rudeness and lack of reliability. One of the other reviews says that they cancelled him 30 minutes prior to the appointment, using COVID as an excuse - and one of the groomers gave him a snarky reply: "I'm sorry this how you are reacting due to being rescheduled during a National crisis." It's these types of unwarranted, inappropriate, snarky remarks that I've gotten so used to from some of their people. This is clearly the norm of how they speak to people, which it shouldn't be. Perhaps she should spend more time on her business and less on her chickens.

Can't believe I have yet to review this wonderful business…read more Laura has been grooming my shih tzu Cooper every month for the last 6 or 7 years. We have used her when we lived in flatiron, Brooklyn heights and now park slope. She does an incredible job every time and is super knowledgeable about pet health and well being. Cooper has always had skin allergies and she often offers great resources and ideas. I initially switched to Laura from a store front groomer because I hated how crowded and chaotic the place would get. With hair of dog, your pooch gets one on one attention and is well taken care of. Especially great option for anxious dogs. The convenience of the groomer coming to you was an added bonus that I can never turn back from. Also love that Cooper always leaves with a cute new toy!
