Service? Elite. Atmosphere? Exactly what you want when you're trying to actually enjoy your night. Our waiter, Mayo, didn't miss once. Orders were on point, communication was solid, and he actually paid attention--something clearly unheard of down the street. On top of that, he hooked it up with a michelada with the works that was straight up next level. Crazy how one place can completely ruin your night, and another can come through and save it like nothing happened. If you're debating between the two... don't. This is the spot. 10/10 all day.

I had to send it back and I try not to do that but I couldn't drink it. The queso taco was not good. I ate one and left the other two. There wasn't much cheese. The picture looked good but execution was bad. The rice and beans were good. Service was just okay. The lady tried to seat me in an area by myself. No ma'am. My server was slow. I had to have another person bring me a drink. My server didn't tell me I had to pay at the front. I was sitting there waiting for him to pick up my card and he never returned. Another server had to tell me. I wasn't happy Ambiance is cool.

It's also quick, and there are rooms with tables that go on forever. So even though it got busy very fast, there always seemed to be a place to seat someone. I ordered Flautas Mexicanas. ("Two deep fried corn tortillas, stuffed with chicken or shredded beef. Served with guacamole salad and sour cream.") They were thickly stuffed with meat (I chose one chicken & the other beef) that was quite savory. Tortillas were thick enough to hold up well and keep a golden crunchiness. The guacamole, pico de gallo, and sour cream was fresh tasting. Spanish rice and refried beans were generous, as most places are. Beans were pretty standard, with cheese melted on top. But the Spanish rice was really good. It wasn't dry, but had a light crispiness to it that I liked. It sure beat the soft, blandness that seems to be too common. All in all, what I got was very good. It was flavorful, generous, quick, and less than $8.
