Food good. Price fair. So obnoxiously loud from chairs being dragged across the floor by staff. It was literally every 15 minutes & sounded like a small engine plane in the room. Waitress spoke poor English so we couldn't get the food we wanted accept the words she understood. Waitress started to hand me the bill when we asked for drink refills and dessert. We've been going here for awhile and have had several bad experiences. Several customer service issues, and several food issues. But, tonight we ordered our usual Pollo Bandito all beans no rice. Pay for it, drive home and they screwed it up. I can except nobody is perfect. Called and them know how frustrating it is to get home and our meal was wrong. Of course they didn't give a shit. I then said you need to make sure they get the orders right, and the guy a freaking attitude and said it was my responsibility to look at my meal, and to do that next time. Outstanding...fresh generous portions. Best quac I've had. We have eaten there several times, but did delivery for first time and it was all well packaged and organized. We normally have a great experience here, but they definitely missed the service mark on our most recent experience. Showed up during semi-busy dinner rush, and were quickly seated. Took 10 minutes to see a server, 25 minutes to order our entrees, and we didn't receive entrees until nearly an hour after arriving. Not much difference between Las Trojas and the El Jimador that was there before it. The food is good--I can't complain about the taste. However, I can say that it's a little generic. Mexico is as diverse in its cuisine as America. I think if they revamped their menu to include dishes from across Mexico, it would add to it's appeal, as sort of a way to travel the entire country through the dishes made famous in each region without actually going to Mexico. It's a rich, beautiful diverse culture and I think they're missing the opportunity to represent it's beauty by sticking to menu items that are safe, Americanized and as I said, generic. We love Mexican food, and enjoy trying out new places. Last night we gave Las Trojas a try. We will not be back. They were out of avocados (we were going to order guac, and the menu item I wanted also called for avocado), they gave me flour enchiladas when what I ordered was supposed to come with corn (I cannot eat wheat) so I got to wait a bit longer. My husbands "beef" taco tasted like dry roast beef (he asked for ground beef). They guy didn't even apologize that the kitchen got mine wrong, and just said, that's what comes in the taco. The food was edible. The cheese dip was bland. The waiter kept a smile. At least they had Dos Equis, though they didn't serve it with a lime. read more

Very good visit... The service here is always good, but during tonight's dinner/social-visit-with-friends I saw excellence from a young man with white discs in his ears. I'd say there was a table check every 12 minutes, which is great especially for El Jimador where you don't pay to expect that sort of service. I recently moved here from Chicago. I was really homesick for some Mexican food. We stopped by for lunch and I was not disappointed. Inside it was kind of dark (took a while for my eyes to adjust, it was bright and sunny outside.) we went around lunchtime and it was busy for there wasn't a wait for a table. We were greeted by friendly staff and served warm chips and delicious red salsa. It wasn't spicy, but very good. I ordered huevos rancheros, it was rather inexpensive but so good! The refutes brand and rice were great and I got extra flour tortillas (I would've preferred corn, but that's personal preference). Never had to wait for a water refill, our waiter was very attentive. The place was clean and lively. Kind of what you'd expect to see inside a Mexican restaurant. I would definitely go back again and try something else from the lunch menu. There's a lot of parking available. They had a drink special (don't remember, I didn't order because I'm pregnant ) The staff made me feel welcomed and home. Will definitely be back! read more

I have no idea why this fabulous authentic Mexican restaurant hasn't gotten better reviews by others. El Jimador offers great margaritas and awesome Mexican food. We come here often and our food is always excellent, as well as the service, even when we have a very large group of people. They have a very friendly staff, this evening our waiter was prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable. My husband and I both tried something new tonight and was very impressed, these dishes are our new favorite choices. This is a wonderful place to eat, definitely the best Mexican food in the area. There was a piece of metal in my dinner that I took home from that restaurant. Bit down on the metal and broke a tooth. Contacted manager and owner and they will not let me file a claim on their liability insurance because they say there is no proof the metal was in my dinner - I am not a liar. Do not eat there unless you do not care about breaking your teeth.
