Review Visit: January 6th, 2012 Q'doba. The very first stop on my Travel List. A brief telling of how my travels came to be. With Q'doba being my first place visited on my Travel List, it seems fitting to share for those who don't know. The year was 2011. The location was my job. The setting was boredom. My train of thought wandered to how I haven't seen a lot of the things to see in Chicago and St. Louis. I started a list of things to do those cities and fast forward 8+ years and I've been to 550+ unique places. Q'doba has the distinction of being the first. Cassey, Danielle, Tim, Matt and I made dinner plans shortly after the start of the new year and to start off my traveling adventures. We descended upon Q'doba with no idea what fun was to be had this evening. We all approached the counter and Danielle had to help me order as I was completely new to the experience. Oh, how innocent and clueless I was back then. Still am clueless but better at ordering food at restaurants. It took awhile for all of us to get through the food assembly line as it was mostly a new experience for us all and it was dinner time. Once we had our food, we sat down and the shenanigans began. This was a night to remember. Or try to remember 8 years later. As we sat there and ate our food, we told many jokes, riffed on each other and laughed until our faces and sides hurt. I have some videos that I recorded from this dinner but those are a bit more personal than I would like to share. Trust me when I said it was a fun group having maximum fun. Enough of that. How was the food? It was good! I haven't been back since 2012 but I do remember the food being really good and wondering why I hadn't been there sooner since I drove by and still drive by this place all the time. What I ordered is a memory lost to time but I remember being sufficiently stuffed afterwards. If you like to order food and watch it be made right in front of you while you dictate the toppings (think of Subway), then you will like Q'doba. The amount of food you can have them stuff in a tortilla wrap is very surprising while the price is equally surprising and very affordable. Q'doba, thank you for being the first place I visited and starting me down a path of shenanigans, exploration, discoveries, and memories. Maybe Q'doba will be your starting point in exploring the world. read more

Food was good, but I wanted a fountain soda and it wasn't working. Employees were very nice and helpful.

First thing I realized when I walked in was how ran down, urinal was out of service bathroom stunk like crazy. I ordered my food and the guy broke my burrito wrap. The soda fountain was out of service so I couldn't even get a water cup. I sat down to eat my food unwrapped my burrito and it was chewy and cold, and incredibly messy because the employee broke the wrap and couldn't roll a burrito for his life. Paid $16.23 for this junk. Definitely will never be coming back! read more

The food was not up to par with your typical Qdoba standard. The staff acted like we were a burden to them and was not very friendly. To the Bathrooms, they were not maintained very well. Overall not a good experience. I would choose any other chain restaurant near by then this location. read more

Indoor and outdoor seating is open, Nice menu of customizable items, I really like that I can pick among lots of options to build the meal just how I like it. There is also a coke a cola freestyle machine so even soft drinks can be custom made Basic decor in dining room but clean and pleasant No drive thru window so all orders and purchases are done inside. Reasonable prices on menu items Catering is also available read more

The review has nothing to do with the service, the workers are super nice and amazing people, unfortunately the food was not to the standards I'm use to coming from Chicago, the rice tasted as if it had been cooked and reheated, the beans and chicken had no flavor. Having had Qdoba back in Chicago I had an idea of how it should taste ,but unfortunately here in Peoria it seems the standards are not the same. read more

Good Burrito. Staff very friendly and helpful. Ingredients seemed fresh. Store was clean. Would definitely recommend.

I have only been to a Qdoba once and didn't know what to expect. My burrito turned out insanely large. But, I will say I have thought of that burrito often and plan to go back someday and certainly ask for about half portions of everything they put in the burrito. Or maybe I will go with a salad or something. If you join their rewards program, you can get some free goodies. read more

I just wanted to say that they've got some of the best customer service we've experienced in the restaurant industry. Caden and Char were both extremely friendly and helpful with our order. Our food was prepared exactly as we wanted and served with a great smile! In our short time there Caden went out of his way to be very professional and accommodating. read more

The entire place was dirty when we went in yet there were zero customers so I don't get why the staff couldn't have been cleaning. We attempted to get the rewards program and were having trouble yet the employee just stood there blank faced and watched us. I mentioned to her how they didn't even promote the rewards program and she just laughed and said "yeah". The soda machine had so much gunk on it that I almost didn't use it. This location used to be one of my favorites, but I won't return after today!! read more

First they have the newer touch screen coke machine (love). I got the new tacos and they were seriously some of the best I've ever had...and I live for tacos. Packed with meat and flavor. My mom was extremely impressed also. Mondays with a drink purchase they are 2$ each...what a deal! Otherwise 3.50 each or 3 for 9$. I havent ate here in years and they have totally stepped up their game. Must. Get. Qdoba!! I also have to throw in the store was very clean and the staff is EXCELLENT...so friendly and helpful! read more

Food isn't made well, the employees putting the bowls together do a sloppy careless job. Food was cold too and our bowls were disintegrating on the bottom from pouring way too much queso all over them. Health measures behind the counter seem to be lacking. No masks or anything either. Usually love coming here but the last few experiences have been off putting enough to not return. Go to the location by Big Hollow for a better experience and a better more caring team! Food is always made great there read more

Where I'm from Mexican fast food chains are much more plentiful. While Baja Fresh is my favorite, Qdoba is my second choice. My favorite meal here is the grilled chicken burrito. I get mine naked with no tortilla and it's a lot better for the waistline. read more

We have missed QDoba since our local one closed. We were looking forward to stopping here for lunch - and were not disappointed! I had my favorite, the chicken nachos with guacamole. So good! My sons had the cheese quesadilla and chicken soft-shell nachos. They also loved the new Coke machine. The only downside - we had to pay extra for chips for them. Our old location included chips with each entree. Next time we are in East Peoria, we will be stopping here. read more

Sure it's a chain and everything... but the food here is really good. The best part of this place, though, is the staff. They're always super friendly, helpful, and fun. They seem to be really well run. The queso is amazing. I usually get the "Craft 2", with a naked queso burrito and tacos. Kids eat free on the weekends, which is a great deal for my family. Love this place. read more

Food is good, not like home, but it does it's job. It'd be more satisfying if the bitch distributing the fucking meat actually put the sufficient portion that she was supposed to on my order like the customers before me and after me. Not once did I order a vegan burrito. It wasn't even a lunch rush and I got the equivalent of like 3 blades of grass and the other guys got heaping masses. If I walk in there again and I see her pulling the same bullshit there's going to be hell to pay. read more

I finally let friends talk me into trying Qdoba. Chipotle's better.

I called this Mexican for lack of any other category. Maybe Tex-Mex. They didn't have much to choose from on the menu. It was kind of pricey for what you got, and they charge .99 cent for a little cup of salsa (I mean really little) Nothing really on the menu for kids either. On the plus side, I really liked their lime/cilantro white rice that they used in the burritos, and the overall product was good. The chicken was well seasoned and very tastey. Like I said though it just wasn't what I was looking for in a mexican restaurant. Now that I know what it is, if I'm back in Peoria and didn't have the kids with me I might stop back in for the rice and chicken burrito. read more

Can be as light or heavy as you'd like. High quality ingredients in a subway style make your own layout. Fantastic for lunch.

Apparently this Qdoba doesn't accept the coupons that they send out. I went this evening with a buy one get one free coupon that had been sent to my email. I built my burritos, but when I checked out I was told that they don't accept the coupons. I called the customer service number listed on the receipt and was told that coupons that are emailed come for your "home store." Well, my home store is this location. It appears as those this location is using the coupons as bait to get patrons, only to deny them once the order is placed. I think $19 for 2 burritos is outrageous, but I was ok with spending $10. They made their money on this trip, but I'll never return to this location. I can't wait until the Chipotle opens! read more

great service here. they do a great job and are constantly very busy. Food is always good and consistent. Even when super busy, they keep the line moving quickly with a great product. read more

My 2nd fav. Place for burritos after Chipotle. Love habanero sauce!

Right in front of me all this time! This place is awesome. I typically do Mexican out by Grand Prairie or once in a while stop by Chipotle but those days are gone, the nachos, the quesadillas, and signature flavors, the tacos, burritos, and salads-all good. I came in here last week and liked it so much I came back twice this week. The staff is clearly happy and energized as they acted like I was their best friend when I walked in the door! AWESOME! read more

Q'doba in East Peoria is, by far, the WORST Q'doba restaurant I have ever visited. The depressing thing is that it wasn't always this bad; I used to frequent this establishment up until the past few months. Where do I even begin to break down what offends me about this place... First of all, the new staff members are absolutely terrible about portions. Ask for a veggie burrito, and you will get about half a ladle of beans and half a ladle of rice. I wish that were an exaggeration. I have NEVER seen a Qdoba restaurant that is so incredibly stingy about ingredients. This has been getting worse and worse over the last several months, although this only begins my rant. While I dislike rude service, I dislike ignorance a little more. I recently watched a staff member there FORGET about my burrito while it was sitting on the counter, completed but unwrapped, next to the register (yeah, we had already paid, we were just waiting). Apparently he remembered that he had to go clean something on the back burner? Yeah, so it is sitting there, open. It seemed like forever, but it was probably just 2 minutes. Meanwhile, the manager who is supposed to be on the register... is FOUR FEET away, chatting away with some other dude at this time. So even if I had my food, nobody would be going anywhere. I hate to go on a tangent here - but basically this friend of his walked in and so the manager just immediately opened up a beer and handed it to him at the register ahead of everyone, and they just started talking. So really, Q'doba is more of a house party at this point, so I guess I can't blame the manager for not responding to the clearly inconvenienced customers. Anyway, back to my burrito: So, the kid eventually notices that he forgot to finish my order. So, rather than wrapping it up and sliding it down to the register, he just gets A NEW TORTILLA... a new, cold, hard tortilla... and he uses it like a glove to open up my almost-burrito and grab up all the ingredients and start over? Wait. That makes no sense. As he finishes the nonsensical transfer of my ingredients - losing 20% of the stingy interior in the process - he realizes that, in fact, it makes no sense to be doing this. So he then transfers it all BACK to the ORIGINAL tortilla. I guess he feels like he had to finish this process, though, because he changes his mind AGAIN and moves it all back to the hard, cold tortilla. Since the ingredients were only about 3-4 ounces to begin with, I can't imagine that there was very much of anything left in that final transfer. He hands it over the counter to me saying "uh, sorry about that." Yep, that's one example of the quality service at Q'doba of East Peoria. I am also quite alarmed by how often they are screwing up basic orders now. I'm a little more alarmed, though, by how little they seem to care about it. For example, I ordered some type of typical burrito the other day, and the girl behind the counter heard me say something entirely different. I said "no" about 4 or 5 times and I repeated what I wanted a couple of times while she kept making... something else. She continued to make the burrito, ignoring me. The customer behind me also looked perplexed, as it was fairly obvious what I had said, and also confusing as to why she was ignoring my attempts to stop her. At the end, she started getting frustrated that I wouldn't tell her what salsa I wanted (on the burrito I did not order). I repeated my order once again, to which she explained that she had heard me wrong. No harm, no foul, right? I mean, I was secretly pissed off, but I was being cool about it. She started redoing the same thing, though! When we finally sorted it out AGAIN, she gave me a huge attitude, and rolled her eyes as she passed it down to the next guy to handle. This is not exactly an isolated incident; this is becoming the norm with their customer service: They mess it up, and so it's the customer's fault. And of course, there are a plethora of issues surrounding sanitation: The people never seem to change their gloves, your cheese quesadillas end up with bonus pork or chicken sometimes, and since they are too devoted to ruining your orders, they don't pay any attention to the dining area, which is generally somewhere in the ballpark of "cruddy gas station bathroom" in terms of cleanliness. Anyway, I admit that I was still going to the place from time to time, but as conditions deteriorated, it just seemed wrong at some point. The final straw came when a manager there made a sexist comment toward my girlfriend on a night that she paid for dinner. It wasn't anything over the line; just didn't sit right when followed by yet another bad food experience. While it felt good to type some of this stuff out, it also makes me kind of sick to think about the place. I will not be returning to this Qdoba, and if you are in town, I hope that you will do yourself a favor and avoid it, too. read more

It was my first time going here. Which I must say, This place is awesome! The staff are super friendly and actually enjoy being there. But, the food is phenomenal, I had the three cheese nachos. Which you can put almost all the toppings on and you actually get to watch them make your food. The soda machine is very cool. It has every kind of soda you can want. Also, they have a nice area outside where you can eat. I left very satisfied and I will be coming back. read more

Better by far than the one in Bloomington. I've had consistently good service and food here, but lately I've noticed that they need to pay a bit more attention to cleanliness of the dining room. read more

I've been going to qdoba for years. This is the best one I've ever been to, arguably the best customer service I've ever had at a fast food restaurant. Not surprised to see it's independently owned. As a traveling student from a land afar I was pleasantly surprised with the student deal. From now on anytime I pass through Peoria i know where I'll be stopping. Thanks 'doba. read more

I can't believe I waited so long to try Qdoba! I always saw the chain in Chicago and Peoria, but considered myself a die hard Chipotle fan, so I never gave it a chance. After being let down by the new Chipotle in Peoria, I decided to give Qdoba a try at the East Peoria location last night. It's pretty good! I can't help but compare to Chipotle, because they are very similar in menu and ordering process. However, Qdoba has a bit more variety in the menu by offering nachos, quesadillas, and signature flavors, in addition to the tacos, burritos, and salads. I decided to make my own steak burrito, and it was tasty. The meat was better quality and texture than Chipotle, but less spicy. I think I enjoy Chiptole chips and guac more, but Qdoba's roasted chile corn salsa was awesome. Also, I prefer the decor style of the Qdoba. Chipotle's tend to be dark and cold with a 'we're hipsters!' air about the place. Qdoba was bright, warm, and friendly with good food. I'll definitely visit again! read more
