Service was good, efficiently and warm (and thankfully English was spoken). Three of us sampled: - Roast Pork knuckle: A large roasted chunk of pork, perfectly done and falling apart, so good. - Cheese platter: A selection of local cheeses, all very good. Served with a sprinkle of maraschino cherries on top, which was a little unexpected but fun. - Dumplings: We tried both of their options, meat and potato cheese. These were good and very filling. - Fried pork chop: Pounded thin and fried, man that was good. - Cole slaw: Purple cabbage, creamy dressing with a hint of horseradish I'd say. - Pickles: Large bowl of medium-small cucumbers, nice and crisp. Good food and a fun time, recommended if you're in the area.

Overall it was ok, but there are so many others places to try I won't come back here.

Upon entering, you'll see the extensive menu on the wall. Fortunately, it's translated in English and the staff that takes your order at the cash register booth speaks some English as well. Once you order, they give you a buzzer to let you know when it's ready for pick up at the kitchen window. My husband and I ordered a couple bottled fruit beverages, an espresso, mushroom and sauerkraut pierogis, a side of cream spinach and blueberry and apricot pancakes for 53 PLN or about $15 US! The quality didn't compare to the Michelin Star, Muzealna, we had the day before, but we appreciated the simplicity of our last meal before leaving Poland. The women's uniforms in the kitchen and how they serve food through the window is reminiscent of the communist era. In fact, the design of the restaurant makes one feel as if they're in a mess hall during that time. There are a few tables outside as well. Anyone visiting Poland has to try a milk bar at least once!

Some of the older reviews cite a complicated experience with potential language issues, but that's absolutely not the case now. The wall menu has English translations, you order and pay on entering, and are given a beeper to take to your table and wait for you to be summoned to pick up your food. Basically, like any fast-casual dining experience anywhere in the modern world. It's all very cheap, and it's a good way to try a sampling of Polish dishes. However, while the food is tasty and likely authentic, ingredient quality is understandably so-so (for instance, the popular veal schnitzel is made of a pressed/formed meat patty, as opposed to an actual slice of veal). For me, it's the kind of thing you do once, but then look for better quality versions of the dishes in one of the many good restaurants around town.

You feel like inside a wealthy grandmothers house, decorated up to the last edge: plates in the walls; paints; vases with flowers, cookies or candies; ornaments; heavy tablecloths and cutlery... Is like traveling in time to mid 1900s. The food is traditional high-end polish cuisine. Various appetizers are offered, our favorite was the oven roasted pear filled with creamy cheese. Duck pate was not great. Beef tartar was good although you will have to mix it yourself. Probably we would have enjoyed a waiter to prepare it next to our table instead of us having to do it. For main course, duck was very good and tender. Beef was flavorful and juicy as well. Probably dessert was our favorite. Delicious cheesecake, ginger cake and Christmas special pastel. All very good. But yet, the cuisine is good but not extraordinary. And the service was far behind. Multiple times our wine glasses were empty and we had no water to sip either. It took a long time between course and we had to wait for a waiter to get our attention. Not what we expected from a well known restaurant. They host big parties on the second floor, you could feel the understaff. The waiters were truly busy from on table to the next. Perhaps adding a few staff during busy hours will ease the stress for everyone. Overall, old-fashion place, good quality food, service needs improvement.

Not so late but they already ran out of vodka, which I don't quite understand. The appetizer "potato pancake" was really amazing, crunchy, and decent salmon. Also very nicely plating. I had the roasted duck for the main dish. The taste was fine, which I would score 7 out of 10. Not as amazing as that of Rozana. But I would say acceptable. The dessert, I had the cake with coffee cream. Very nice cake. My friends had brûlée with raspberry, which was not so good. Was a bit raw and plain taste. Not recommended. Also, they couldn't move the tray upstairs, where many guests sit, no dessert menu, just introduced by waiters' poor English. Also we waited for about 20min for the dessert, which doesn't make any sense, providing those uncooked brûlée.

We Ubered to the restaurant to walk afterward around the revitalized Praga District. The other clientele looked like trendy office workers so the staff was moving quickly to service the lunch hour crowd. The server asked us if we wanted the regular menu or "the lunch menu". It was lunchtime so we asked for "the lunch menu". We expected the server to return with a menu with lunchtime options - but instead less than a minute later the borscht arrived. It turns out "the lunch menu" was a 3-course prix fixe option and borscht was the 1st dish. We probably wouldn't all have ordered it had we understood but it was delicious with a beautiful beet red color and a pleasantly sour flavor. The main was a nice pasta with salmon and the dessert was an excellent pastry. We sat on the patio which was lovely. Very comfortable. Great restaurant with excellent food. In particular we loved our accidental borscht!

The food was exceptional. It was my first night in Warsaw and wanted to experience a modern take on tPolish dishes. The cold beet soup, beet greens with a quail egg was super delicious.
