I needed repairs on a TV under warranty, and these folks took care of it with ease. There was a 2 week wait time until a tech could be booked, but he showed up right when he was meant to, with the necessary parts for repair in hand. The entire process took 60-75 mins and was painless. Super nice tech, diagnosed the issue correctly, and then rectified it. I'd happily use them again. read more

Truly a terrible company with terrible service. I can tell why they don't have a page on google reviews because their reviews are so bad here. Doing anything to get out of a 5 year warranty after only 5 months of use is so shady. Be wary of any company who offers warranties through Q-tel. They will cancel your warranty with zero proof of anything and you will then have to go through the lengthy appeals process with the original manufacturers. They communicate extremely slowly, and do not value your time. Fortunately for them, I'm sure they make most of their money through shady warranties and do not need to be a reputable company that local people trust in order to stay in business. read more

They were doing warranty work for me on my range purchased in March. On the 2nd scheduled appointment in July they did not show up. When I called, they dumped the services of this 75 year old woman, apparently when the technician called me the day before was offended when I was concerned that he did not have the right part after the long wait. I guess they do not believe in the customer or service. I've been left with a new broken stove. read more

OK NOW QTEL. If I could give this co no stars I would. I have just went over many reviews and many replies/rebuttles from the company owner and am shocked at the tone that they treat their customers. So defensive and so unprofessional. I purchases a very expensive fridge. Freezer problems. I literally had to deal with them 3 times (may 4) and have the repair person in my home 3 times with wait times in-between while they ordered new parts every time to try to solve the problem. This took so so so so much of my time to call them and so much debotchery and incompetence at making and keeping appointments. I was getting madder with every wait time. I wrote them a not so nice email saying to get their ---- together. So with the original fridge after month and some of serious back and forth (if it was not for me being proactive and confirming appts this would have taken much longer), they finally approved a new fridge after replacing all those parts,,,how many times???? Now this fridge is having freezer problems and as it was in warranty Samsung sent me back to Qtel. I waited for an appt. After days of waiting, I finally got on the phone to see why an appt was not being made. So I phoned and asked and was told they never got the information from Samsung and I needed to wait more time. That was Monday. As this has been now 10 days my freezer not working properly, and I have not even got an appt yet, (food going bad but they don't care obviously) I called again the next day Tuesday, they have not received anything from Samsung and to wait some more. Nothing. I called again today Wed and was told they got info on Mon. (not sure why the Tuesday person did not tell me this) and was told I was denied service because of my not so nice email which is fine with me. But why did they not send that information to samsung so I could get another provider is extremely questionable. I think I know why as with now I have read the owner's responses to other complaints and u really need to read how the owner talks/deals with situations. It is absolutely the same as the people I have dealt with,...how many times now..... So QTEL,...seriously unprofessional company. I did like the guy they sent me but after 3 times coming back to replace yet another part after bout a month and a half,.......pretty bad for sure. Can't wait to hear from the owner on this one....She and her company just got 4 seriously bad reviews on the internet for all my wasted time on them. read more

Took my tv to repair under extended warranty, it had some blemishes on the screen. They made it unrepairable by opening it to do the diagnostic. They claimed that once they open it that releases the lights from the glue on the inside (or something like that, apparently I'm "not a tv repair person and wouldn't understand") and it can't be fixed without the part. They knew what the problem was before they opened it. So why so called professionals who have been in the business "for 60 years" would open it and destroy it in the first place if they don't have the part to fix it is beyond me. I gave them an 84" tv with some slightly dark patches that were visible against a light background, but otherwise completely functional, and they wanted (want, still dealing with them) to return me a 115lb piece of garbage that no longer functions. (Why would I want it now, it's literally garbage) In what world do you take an item..car, cell phone..anything, to get a topical issue repaired and the response is "sorry, we can't fix the problem you brought it in for, also it's completely non-functioning now so it's a write off." They have the nerve to respond to me like I'm the problem. I strongly feel they steal and refurbish/resell written off tvs, or at the very least they are completely incompetent. Scammers or incompetent, that's your option here. They claim to be servicing their "250,000th customer" but they are also the only repair place between here and Nanaimo apparently. Do not pay for a King and State warranty as long as this is the company they use for repairs. King and state only give you the depreciated value when an item has been written off, and qtel are the ones that send the report that says either "repair" or "replace," which circles back to either scammers or incompetent, but nothing that makes sense when they take a functioning tv and destroy it beyond repair. They told me to "come and pick it up" (this non functional piece of garbage that represents their efforts) and now they want to deliver it to me after pressure from King and State who agreed I could have it back (when I thought it was still the same functioning, but blemished unit as Qtel received) on top of the extremely depreciated replacement credit. Given the COMPLETE lack of accountability from them on all the negative reviews here, I can't wait to read whatever nonsense they have to respond here. (see below, I wasn't disappointed) For $100 I'm going to take them to claims court and try my luck there. Bottom line is they never should have opened it, if opening it would result in it being written off. Why not advise me that opening it would destroy it? They make no sense at all and are ultimately responsible for damaging it beyond repair. **edit** -- A response to their response: So you broke my tv, and you are getting my Warranty to pay me out for the damages, otherwise I would have just taken my functioning tv back into my possession and accepted the store credit they were offering to make up for the screen blemishes. The "little double dip" was 100% approved by the warranty company to make up the difference in the depreciated value, as indicated by the comment in quotes that you posted, and also emailed to me. Again, that was BEFORE you disclosed that you had damaged it beyond repair. You really trying to make me out to be the thief here by trying to make it look like I am doing something shady to recoup MY losses? Lol, you can't even gaslight properly. How you stay in business is a mystery for sure. You broke the tv beyond repair making the "double dip" impossible. Don't try to cover up your mistake, or thievery, by turning it on me. Your response is exactly what I would have expected based on everything else here and the attitude you people display through email. I can't imagine if that was my only tv, and I had no warranty, and just took it to you for repair only to learn not only could you not fix it, but you destroyed it opening it. You are lucky I have a warranty that partially covers the value of a new tv, or this conversation would be way uglier and far more personal. read more

I called Q-Tel Services today at 12pm to set up a service call for two appliances. I was expecting to simply set up an appointment, figured 5 minutes tops. Nope. First, they took my name, phone number, and email address. Then they told me they'd email me for further information and ended the call. I'm sorry, what? Could they not simply have taken the information over the phone? It takes about 10 minutes for the email to arrive. It asks for the information I'd already provided, plus my address and postal code. It also asked for the model and serial numbers of the appliances and what the issues were. The email let me know that a service call would cost $200 +tax for two appliances ($115 for one). Seemed a little steep, but okay. I sent my reply promptly and waited. 90 minutes later I received a response. It asked me for photos of the model and serial numbers for my appliances. Information I had already provided in the previous email. I'm unclear on why they decided a photo was necessary, but fine. I took the photos and sent off my reply at 2pm. I wait for three more hours, until 5pm, but they do not get back to me. By this point I'm pretty fed up, having spent 5 hours trying to set up a simple appointment. I call another repair shop, and in less than 5 minutes I have a service call booked to look at both appliances for $95. It was as simple as I had expected my call to Q-Tel to be. I emailed Q-Tel to cancel my service request, and let them know how disappointed I was with my experience. At 7pm, I received a pretty snarky response from Q-Tel, lowkey shaming me for not sticking with them. First they made excuses for why their responses had taken so long, but then went on to say that they weren't very busy right now and *could* have gotten a service call out to me this week. So couldn't get manage to book a simple appointment in the span of five hours, yet also not overly busy? And no apology. They went on to say I'd be paying more for parts by not going through them, since they're the only repair shop in town authorized by Samsung. I'm guessing that meant they're the only shop in town with an actual contract with Samsung, but it certainly came across like they were trying to imply that only they could fix Samsung appliances. Samsung certified technicians are not exclusive to Q-Tel, and I did not appreciate the manipulative tone of the email. Maybe the parts will cost more elsewhere, but since I'm saving $117.60 on the service call itself, I think it'll be okay. One thing is for sure though, any chance Q-Tel had of me ever giving them another chance were killed when they sent me that snide response to my perfectly reasonable disappointment. read more

Let me provide a little timeline to demonstrate, and let you come to your own conclusion. Dec 2020: Brought amp in for repair because my old reliable repair shop (Tom's) closed down and referred all their customers here. Thinking if Tom's recommended it, it should be okay so I went for it. Q-Tel charged $50 for a diagnostic. Jan 2021: Followed up by email, was ignored. Feb 2021: 2nd follow up, ignored. End-Feb 2021: Almost 3 months later, a 3rd follow up with a comment that I'd take legal action if they continue to ignore me. They finally respond. Okay, they'll fix my amp. Mar 2021: Followed up again, amp supposedly fixed, brought it home, amp in same broken condition as when originally brought in. Mid-Mar: Emailed them. Their reason: "we had an unqualified person messing around with the unit". Brought it back. Apr: Supposedly fixed. Brought it home. Same broken condition as before. Brought it back. Mid-Apr: Supposedly fixed. Brought it home. Same broken condition as before. Brought it back. End-Apr: Supposedly fixed. Brought it home. Same broken condition as before. Brought it back. Asked for money back. They refused. Told me the reason was that my speakers were burnt out. Said speakers were working perfectly minutes before I brought it back to them. May: Supposedly fixed. Brought it home. Tested with new speakers. Same broken condition as before. Brought it back. They refused to fix it again. Won't give any money back, and was told to be glad I didn't get charged more for all the labour they supposedly put in. So after nearly 6 months, they kept my $160, and the amp didn't get fixed. They gave me the finger when I asked for a refund, and wasted inordinate amounts of time and fuel to constantly go back and forth to their shop. I would leave a Google review but they've disabled that function saying their shop is closed. Convenient. So I'll just leave this here. I'm sure you could come to your own conclusions. read more

Our brand new LG induction stove top was not working and we wanted to return to Rona. Rona refused all returns on appliances and we were to get it fixed. Lg sent out QTel. First guy who came out was not good. I was not impressed and I felt like we were doomed. They sent out a 2nd guy to fix. I was relieved to see it was a different person as the original tech made me feel like I was a dumb liar... 2nd guy was professional, easy to communicate and understand the issue. Fixed the problem quickly with his "magic touch". The company communicates well and I would use them again. Would have been 5 stars if we didn't get the first person on initial visit. read more

No one threatened anyone! This is too funny and it's actually how very poor customer service works in the back ground.. no one takes responsibility for anything and they blame everyone else! Fact = their technicians produced two very different reports on the issue! One was completely false information and it messed up my warrantee... this is obviously the secretary that hung up in my face saying I was yelling and I calmly told her that I'm not yelling and if I was she would know it... while I was calmly explaining I heard the dial tone from being hung up on... once again very poor customer service and very poor technicians report.. that's what you can expect from these people.. please review all of the other bad reviews before calling this company! read more

TV #1: Brought unit to them and paid them $67.20 for a simple diagnostic. It was an easy mechanical repair. They emailed me the repair options. I chose the cheaper option. Done. They emailed me, saying it was finished and ready for pickup. They emailed me again later and asked me to pick it up because they wanted it out of their shop. Rude emails. Whoever was emailing should not be contacting customers. Went to pick it up. They rang up the more expensive option. I said that was not the agreement. Then they discovered that some work had been done, but it turns out something additional needed to be done so the work, in fact, wasn't finished and the unit wasn't ready at all and it was going to cost me more. I said forget it, just throw it in the dumpster. TV #2: They charge $67 for an estimate for repair. I pay the money thinking I'm not losing that amount because it's applied to the cost of repair. Six hours later, I get the estimate of $1607.20 to replace the screen and asked if I wanted to proceed. I had only paid $1600 for the unit, new! Surely, they knew that the repair was going to be prohibitively and uneconomically expensive before they extracted $67 from me! What a ripoff. It's too bad it's the only authorized repair facility in town. Next time, I'm going out of town for repair. I'm out $134.40 with nothing to show for it. I DO NOT recommend Q-Tel to anyone. read more

I thought I'd leave a review here of my experience with Q-Tel recently. The fella that came over to fix my Samsung TV last Friday was on-time, friendly, professional and efficient. Q-tel communication in the week leading up to the appointment was decent: Samsung scheduled a call, Q-tel emailed to set up an appointment withing a couple of days and so they could get some details (so they could order parts based on potential diagnosis) and the guy came right on time a week or so later. I see there's been some bad reviews on here, but my experience at least was good. Maybe I got the good technician? read more

I am so offended buy this company's owner having the nerve to write "this is what exactly happened" and proceed to write the "he said she said" version of what happened during the service call when she wasn't even present in my home...also I'm so glad there is a recording (btw) of the phone conversation. I'm hoping Visions will get to hear it as it certainly wasn't as she said it was... it's so funny because the people who know me, know I never swear, but not according to her....and I certainly don't go around demanding "I'm always right" OMG, give me a break!!! Something really needs to be done about this company and their people on how they treat customers. No one should have to deal with this kind of abuse...especially not in 2023! LOL...now you have recanted your review. Believe me there is nothing fake or widely false about how unprofessional these people are. This was an extended warranty service call. They didn't inspect the washing machine beforehand, they asked what was going and just ordered parts. They came and spend a half hour, replaced tbd main board and a few valves and left. It didn't fix the issue, and I asked if they could come back and look at it again. They said I would have to submit a new claim. I said that was absurd, and she lost her cool and argued with me. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. Have never had the displeasure of working with a worse company to fix my dishwasher. Not only did they damage my kitchen and leave sharp pieces of metal sticking out of the counter, but after we contacted them about the damage via email, their email response was full of cussing, blaming us for the damage (like we wouldn't remember doing it ourselves? why would we lie about it in the first place?), and then the "fixed" dishwasher has since broken again within a couple weeks. We have since been blacklisted and I'm honestly glad. This company does not deserve your money. Can't believe that a "professional" company feels that it is okay to swear at their customers when they're the ones that provided poor service. Would give zero stars if I could. read more

Not impressed with their at-home TV repair service. After three visits to attempt repairs on a large-screen Sony Bravia, we are still left with a defective TV. The first visit was to attempt to diagnosis the issue, but no parts were brought for any repair. This was after the issue was clearly explained and photos submitted to them. The replacement part took two weeks to arrive and then a second visit was scheduled. The technician arrived with a complete multi-parts repair kit that should have accompanied him on the first visit. This second visit was unsuccessful due to the required replacement part being defective. Two weeks later another replacement part arrived and visit number three was scheduled. This visit was a failure due to the replacement part that was sent being incompatible. Now we are waiting for another part to arrive and a fourth visit to be scheduled for another attempt. Very sad service coordination and quality control! Q-Tel Response received after my review: "As a response to your recent review. We cannot be expected to have every part for every tv in stock, so assuming or stating that we should of come with parts is uncalled for. With the unit being under extended warranty we have to submit estimates wait for approval and then order parts. We have no control over defective parts coming in. We also have no control over times it takes for parts to come in. Sony is one of the only companies that refurbishes their parts. Just because an email was sent to us describing the fault doesn't always mean we can diagnose over a picture or without seeing or verifying in person. (We do try our best) There has been no "sad service coordination" you have been emailed or called when parts have arrived and appointments have been scheduled so again this comment is uncalled for. Nothing we have done is anything we could have done differently with parts etc coming in wrong or defective. As there has been no sort of contact to us phone call etc to try and voice your concerns and give us an opportunity to respond this review itself if very uncalled for. " "It also does not make us want to continue working with you to try and resolve your issue if this is the way you are going to treat us and slander us on the internet. Your extended warranty company is aware of what's happening the times its taken and the parts etc and have told us to continue the repair which again is their decision. We want to also remind you that the tv Is not completely out of service and is still watchable. " "As you feel the service so far has been unsatisfactory up to this point with defective parts etc and you feel we are causing the issues, we will advise your warranty company to find someone else to complete the repair. Hopefully this will get resolved for you in a timely manner. Sorry for the delay and frustration we have caused you." Update** After I wrote the original review I had further communication with qtel. I provided them with pictures of the damage and even an audio recording, which I started after I realized what the tech was going to do.. I am not sure what would have happened had I not had the recording because the tech flat out lied to his boss about what happened. He actually tried to blame me for the damage. Really shameful, he should have just taken responsibility for his mistake. Anyways, to give qtel some credit, they did agree to send a tech out to replace the panel a second time.. I ended up cancelling and deciding to live with the scratches since they could not been seen from a distance.. the panel was otherwise good and I did not want to risk having issue with dead pixels or DSE from another panel... My tv is the flagship Samsung LED model and quite expensive, it blows how such little care was taken when performing the repair. Hopefully qtel learns from this screw up. Leaving the screen protector on, having a brand new soft drop cloth, or being more careful when reassembling the tv would all have prevented this unfortunate experience... read more

Honestly the most unprofessional service I have ever had to deal with. Staff are rude over the phone and dismissive in emails. We had a washer that was still under warranty that wasn't spinning. Our landlord had to go through the proper channels to get it serviced under warranty and Qtel was who we were put in contact with. Not only did it take two weeks to even set up an appointment via email it then took another month before someone came in. So in total a month and a half with no working washer. When the tech showed up I got a call from a every grumpy worker saying the tech could not get in the building. We have a look up by name buzzer system. The tech had my name just made no effort to even look at the door. Instead I had to run outside and look for a Qtel vehicle. Nope, tech was in a unmarked very run down Toyota corolla. I had no way of identifiying him, I was standing outside the front door on the phone with the grumpy worker who told me he should be standing right there in front of me. Well he was in his unmarked car and wouldnt get out. After he finally got out of his car and identified himself I lead him to the broken washer and he did make it spin. However all temperature settings were now on HOT. We could not wash clothes on cold. We got connected to a tech at west coast appliances to come figure out why the now spinning washer only used hot. The west coast appliances tech arrived within a week and had no problem using the buzzer at the front door. The Qtel tech had left the cold water line completely disconnected. West coast appliance tech very quickly solved this problem and reconnected the cold water line. I will NEVER use this company if I have any say in the matter. Very unfortunate that the warranty required us to use them. read more

Absolutely horrific service. We called many times to schedule a dishwasher repair. The first technician sent was rude and impersonable. I had to ask what was wrong with our dishwasher as the tech was walking out the door without saying a word to us. A part needed to be ordered and we waited two weeks to have a tech return to repair yet again, the tech advised us that the part ordered was faulty and we would have to wait another period for them to order. When the tech came back with the new pet, he advised us that the part ordered wasn't part of the issue at all. The original tech said it was a valve and now the second tech says our whole motherboard needs to be replaced. So we are left with weeks of no dishwasher use with a brand new baby, we are out over $100 for nothing, and we are being told we have to pay over $400 for the new motherboard and labour. On top of that, nobody answers the phone EVER! Please for the love of for hire some more people, you clearly have enough jobs to be able to afford call takers. Happy customer with a repaired tv! Our tv is maybe a couple years old and it shut off out of nowhere and wouldn't turn back on. I googled everything trying all the tips and tricks but it was obvious with no sensor light when I pressed the power button on the remote that no power was going to the tv. I called around and multiple stores directed me to Q-Tel. When I called Q- Tel and explained the issue to the guy he reassured me that it sounded like it could be repaired. We brought it in that day and although it took about a week to hear from them, which may have been longer than I was used to waiting I was happy to hear after they had inspected it that it could be fixed. So a couple hundred dollars later it was, and honestly worth it!
