Growing up in the 90's, video arcades were a big hit. The Q Power Station in Power Plant mall used to be one of the more prominent video arcades in the Metro, and it always had the most updated arcade machines and latest video games. If I remember correctly, they were one of the first arcades to use the prepaid card system - eliminating the need for purchasing tokens, which made playing quite a hassle when going for that really long gaming marathon. My fondest memory of Q Power Station was the availability of their Daytona Racing arcade machine, which, for a guy, really helped show off your driving skills. They only had two machines available, and you could link up with a friend or random stranger and challenge them to a race. I was able to finish the easy and medium race courses, but I wasn't able to finish their hard / expert course. Now that I can drive legally, I still visit the Daytona track to see if my driving skills are still up to par with the video game's race car drivers. read more
