I didn't get this Q Club at the very beginning. Why another grocery store, anyway? We had plenty around Soho/Mid-Levels.
After window-shopping for a few times, it got me even more confused. I had never seen most of the stuff it sold here. It's like a variation of a usual grocery store in Hong Kong, with exactly the same categories, but different brands.
Then I heard a couple of friends, separately, recommended Q Club to others. It went like this, "Oh you wanna buy [insert obscure brand], go to Q Club." Finally I realized, it is a grocery store specifically importing all the US brands and the likes.
That's the reason why people come here for a particular brand of beers, sodas, chocolates, or just household necessities (on the second floor).
I came here once awhile, probably enjoyed more than I should, to find myself in a whole new world of brands I'd never heard of. Hell yeah, thanks to 'Murica, I got a big jar of Monster Trail Mix, twice, consisted of peanuts, M&M's, raisins, chocolates chips (like a mini version of Hershey's kisses), and butter chips. Man, this is single-handedly the most delish and most evil snack you could get at the same time... again. Thanks 'Murica! And thanks Obama!
And if you are true party boy, you can totally get the standard, authentic "red cups" here. Way to start a party! read more
