But realized it was more then just a gelato place but they also had pizzas and appetizers and pastas, and of course a happy hour drink menu!! So there went us trying to eat better. But hey were on vacation and I got 26k steps in, so could be worse... We sat outside. It was nicely shaded. Fun to see the people walking by. And the plaza. We ordered their Napoli pizza as well as their caipirinha and morangosca drinks. Food comes out quikcly. Nice that they cut the pizza in half for us. Id say its pretty classic Italian pizza. Thin crust. Some burn marks from the fire. Not oily like American chain pizza. Simple yet good quality toppings and ingredients. I guess they dont do chili flakes or extra parmasean cheese here.... Im coming to learn I presume that their happy hour menu drinks is just a lot of alcohol and a little bit of juice. Because both were really strong. Looked pretty. But had too much alcohol. But I guess thats not a bad thing? Dont think they are worth the 8 pounds each unfortunately. Maybe if it was only 5 pounds it would make more sense. Inside they have their gelato. They have a lot of good flavors and interesting flavors combinations. Its interesting to see the big mound of gelato. I hear thats the authentic and right way to do it. We got their lime, pineapple and mint. As well as their pomegranate, orange and passionfruit. Colors were so beautiful. Flavors though were pretty muted unfortunately. I much enjoyed Santini's more. But overall good food. Great location!!

GREAT PLACE TO GET FOOD IN DOWNTOWN CASCAIS…read more============================================ If you feel like a great sandwich or baked goods this is the place to go. My family and I had lunch at Paul a couple of times while staying nearby at the Citadel. We loved their Mediterranean caprese style sandwich and had those a couple of times. I can't even remember what my son and daughter-in-law ordered, but they were happy. The prices are good and they have plenty of tables.

The staff was so accommodating, the cafe was packed but they never missed a beat. We even grabbed a couple of bags of coffee to take home.

We stopped by this location near the Jerónimos Monastery and had a really lovely breakfast overall!…read moreThe Cured Salmon Benedict was the absolute star of the show. The eggs were poached absolutely perfectly, and the runny yolk soaked into the beautifully light brioche bun. The flavor profile was excellent; the dollop of herbed cream cheese paired incredibly well with the fresh spinach and the punch of the pickled red onion. My only tiny personal critique is that I wished the salmon itself was just a bit saltier, leaning closer to a traditional lox, but it was still incredibly flavorful and satisfying. For drinks, it was a bit of a mixed experience. I ordered the Iced Pistachio Latte, which unfortunately left me a little underwhelmed. It wasn't a bad drink by any means, but the pistachio flavor just wasn't very prominent. On the plus side, my friend ordered the Iced Tiramisu Latte, and hers was absolutely delicious and packed with flavor. Overall, it's a great spot with high-quality food and a fantastic location.

I was honestly a little disappointed at first, when our tour guide took us here for lunch and I saw…read morethat it was "just" a sandwich shop. It seemed like a bit of a hole in the wall, which I always think makes the best food, so I gave it (and our tour guide) the benefit of the doubt, and I realized quickly that it had steady traffic and a constant line, which is always a good sign. I got the smoked ham and fresh cheese on a fresh baguette - the smoked ham was like a prosciutto and the fresh cheese like a ricotta, with lettuce, tomato, olive oil, and dried oregano. Very fresh, simple, bread was nice and crusty, and the olive oil and oregano were a nice touch. Seemed more of an Italian-inspired lunch to me, but I'm not complaining! Good value, too, at about only 4 euros per sandwich. No outdoor seating and limited seating inside, but there's a washroom and the tap is outside of it, so you can actually even fill up your water bottle here as well. On the left side, when you first walk in, there's also a little section for gelato - not sure if this is part of Puro Sabor or another side shop within, but either way, you can get a sandwich and dessert in the same spot.

Thanks to Lisbon, I'm completely reconsidering the idea of brunch as a concept... am I a brunch…read morelover after all??? My favorite thing about how they do it in Portugal is the emphasis on fresh-tasting, quality ingredients and natural fruit juices with generally smaller portions, rather than the massive food-coma-inducing servings that you'll find at many American brunch spots. My search for yet another delicious Lisbon brunch led me to Fauna & Flora, which caught my eye with its aesthetically pleasing menu featuring kataifi "nests", acai/smoothie bowls and unique fruit juice blends. Everything we ended up ordering was as delicious as it looked and sounded on the menu, from the Tropicália pancakes (a light yet indulgent stack layered with coconut and mango cream, topped with a pineapple confit, mint, lemon and coconut flakes) to the intricate Salmon nests (baked avocado with smoked salmon, cucumber pickle set and a perfectly sous vided egg on top over the crunchy kataifi nest for an elaborate and flavorful mix of textures). Between my bf and I, we also ended up ordering three of their natural fruit juices to try the inventive combos (watermelon and mango, acai with goji, banana and berries, etc), which were all delightfully refreshing~ Although it was a bit of a detour from our sightseeing path, Fauna & Flora is definitely worth a visit -- especially for vegan or gluten free diners who will find no shortage of delicious options on their breakfast and lunch menus. If I had more time in Lisbon, I'd absolutely return to try one of their açaí bowls, their juice of the day or one of the enticing lunch bowls that had me tempted even at brunch!
