Great cocktails
Stuart B.

Really fun and happening restaurant with an upstairs bar and dining area. Eclectic and colorful decor. The service was busy but attentive and on point. Great cocktails. It can get very loud and the food is excellent. Take the long staircase upstairs and if you can manage to snag the little balcony to the left of the bar with standing room only, grab it! It's fun to have a drink from the bar and look out over the street life as you wait for your table. I was there on a busy Friday night without reservations and we got a table in about 10 minutes. I tried the quesadillas with "Menonita Cheese" which were delicious for an appetizer; there are 3 medium size tortillas folded with melted cheese; it's flavorful and kind of like a mild manchego. I didn't try the tacos, but they looked incredible. For the main course my party of 2 shared a "Cazuelo La Muñeca " which comes with tortillas and a chamorro (pork shank); you can make your own tacos. It was perfectly cooked, not fatty at all and absolutely delicious. This is a great place to go with friends or a date if you want to have a fun night out on a weekend because it has a trendy "Roma Norte" crowd, it's buzzing with a happy atmosphere and the food is really good.

One of the more popular spots for a high-caliber cocktail program, creative tacos, and posh environs in the Roma-Condessa area, Paramo can get a bit crowded even on a weekday evening, so come prepared to wait. While not every dish was perfect, some of the options were spectacular. Our favorite was the vegetarian taco served with a lovely bean-mushroom paste blended finely with an umami-rich mole sauce. It filled the gap of richness often found in vegetarian tacos.

We heard about this place from a guy sitting next to us on our flight coming to Mexico. As he described it to us, it was intriguing, in that there is no name posted, so you just go up the stairs and then you are there. The food and drinks were good. We enjoyed it enough the first time to want to go again. Each time I had one of the salads, which were very tasty. There's no beer on tap, so I had to settle for bottled beer. My partner got a margarita each time and raved about it. Overall, it's a treat to eat there. I'd recommend it for a special occasion. Considering typical prices in Mexico City, it was on the higher end of the scale, about $50 US for the two of us.

Very nice ambiance and very nice service but that's about it! The decor here is lovely, there's so many plants and a lot of different frames along with many handicrafts. Among the 4 different tacos we ordered, only the shrimp taco was good. I agree with the other reviews that talked about food being meh. We did not get any drinks as we stopped by for dinner after drinks elsewhere. The dessert was alright, but surprisingly my husband loved it!

Tacos were SO good, there was such a big variety. Wish I could've tried more! We got a Mezcal based sour to drink and started with the ceviche - it was so fresh and delicious / the tuna was amazing! We each got an octopus and beef taco, they were so flavorful! To wrap up the meal we got the quesadilla (came with 3 pieces). We each got one piece and were stuffed! The ambiance is very intimate and fun, lively crowd!

Fantastic tacos, good service, refilled salsa/limes at no cost. Was a bit crowded and hard to find (no sign, just need to go up the unlabeled stairs), but overall was a fantastic meal. I got the classic pork taco (first on the taco menu) and ended up ordering more because of how juicy and delicious it was. Guac was really good and pretty inexpensive ($58 MXN I believe). Definitely worth a stop while you are in CDMX!

La comida es increíble y el servicio es genial. Llegamos con un grupo de 10 personas y nos sentaron a todos juntos. La comida es auténtica, el ambiente es divertido y orgánico. 10/10

We found this place on Google after wandering around the Roma Norte neighborhood for awhile. The restaurant is located on a higher floor and there is only a sandwich board with on the street with the restaurant name. I think the restaurant is divided into multiple rooms, but the room we were in was packed and tables were VERY close to their neighbors (not for the COVID-conscious). I asked the waiter which tacos were the most popular and he suggested one with tuna, one called la muñeca (I think) and the San Diego (chicken). The muñeca and taco with tuna were delicious - the meats were cooked perfectly and each taco was well-seasoned. The San Diego (chicken) taco, however, was a disappointment. The chicken was over cooked and dried out, and no amount of salsa could save it. The total bill came out to be closer to American pricing, but the food overall was good, so worth a try if you're in the neighborhood and willing to spend the money.

Very kind and friendly service. Food is good and you don't need reservations, you can wait in the bar while there is space. Duck was one of the plate that it is their main menu, it is food. But I would say cazuelas are the best, give it a try!

Tuna taco (must!)

Absolutely loved this place! It's upstairs an unmarked staircase but the main room has high ceilings and great natural light. The tuna tacos are phenomenal (and huge portions) and the mezcal drinks are great!

I had high hopes for this restaurant, but it was just ok. It's a very touristy spot with many customer speaking English. My Mezcal Pepino cocktail was pretty good and it was well balanced with the smokiness of the mezcal and the freshness of the cucumber. For food I ordered the Taco Xochimilco, Taco La Poblana, and Taco Emalaura. All 3 tacos were ok, but as I mentioned there was nothing special about them. The service was good and the staff were all very nice. I definitely feel there are better restaurants in Mexico City.

Hidden gem with excellent service and quality dining experience without being pretentious. The Mezcal cocktails were to die for and the ambiance was delightful. There were mostly locals there meaning that it's a bit of a secret local spot. If you're not sure what to order you can order different taco flavors and make your own sampler. The ingredients and presentation are quality.

The seafood was so fresh. The mezcal selection was good. Our server was great and very friendly. The only thing is that it's ver crowded.

We then kicked things off with the arancini, which set the tone right away--crispy, flavorful, and perfectly done. For mains, we shared a spread and honestly couldn't pick a favorite: the Octopus Tacos were tender and packed with flavor, the Rabbit Tacos were unique and delicious, and the roasted seasonal vegetables "al mojo de ajo" were simple but so satisfying. The marinated pan-fried salmon and fresh trout were both beautifully cooked and thoughtfully seasoned. Every dish felt intentional, beautifully presented and well executed. But the real showstoppers were the desserts. The fresh goat cheesecake with orange, grapefruit, and lemon was bright and perfectly balanced, and the whisky chocolate crème brûlée was rich, smooth, and unforgettable. Desserts truly knocked it out of the park. Bonus points for the cocktails--my hubby was a huge fan. Great food, great drinks, excellent service and relaxed ambiance made for a wonderful overall experience. Highly recommend adding Temporal to your Mexico City dining list.

Then, allow the friendly staff to bring as many items from the menu as you can handle. Come with a group so you can share. An absolute must is the whole fish done à la Contramar, one side of the split fish coated in a punchy parsley sauce and the other in a red adobo rub. Served with flour tortillas (which are refillable) and black bean dip, you'll be instructed how to compose perfect bites. Then, choose your own adventure! We also had both the 4 piece each shrimp tostadas and tuna tostadas. Radically different so getting both doesn't duplicate. The pasta (spaghettini) with clams was buttery and garlicky and the pasta was surprisingly not overcooked. Biggest surprise was the grilled soft shell crabs (with corn tortillas). They came pre cut then reassembled so it was easy to pick them up and pop them in your mouth. The grill flavor was fantastic and we were all impressed. We finished with a slice of coconut cake which was like a caramel coated macaroon. Perfect! Large wine list by the glass and bottle, many cocktails, sangria and beer to choose from. Definitely a place to visit when in Mexico City. Sorry for the lack of photos-- we forgot because we dove into each dish (we were hungry and they looked so good)! Got one good one though...

What really says it all? We loved it so much, we went back the very next day. This was the only restaurant we repeated during our week-long stay, which should tell you everything. The menu is extensive and thoughtfully curated--fresh, flavorful, and something for everyone. We tried the croissant sandwich, salmon deli nut sandwich, chutney mango deli sandwich, santos ahogados, fig chipotle deli sandwich, pear honey deli sandwich, and the spicy tuna deli sandwich. The sandwiches came with a standard simple salad. Every single item was delicious, well-balanced, and satisfying in that "clean but filling" way. The tables had two delicious spicy chili oil like condiments which elevated each of these dishes. And the juices--WOW. So refreshing, vibrant, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. The perfect complement to the food and ideal for starting (or resetting) your day. If you're visiting Mexico City, Ojo de Agua is an absolute must. With such a wide menu, you're guaranteed to find something you'll love--and very likely come back for more. Highly recommend!

We tried a few juices, the chicken tomato salad and the salmon tacos. The salad was huge with a big portion of chicken, avocado and many toppings for a reasonable price. The lights were out in the bathroom and in part of the restaurant, so not sure if they were dealing with a partial power outage and impact to the kitchen. Still recommend for the food!
