Really fun and happening restaurant with an upstairs bar and dining area. Eclectic and colorful decor. The service was busy but attentive and on point. Great cocktails. It can get very loud and the food is excellent. Take the long staircase upstairs and if you can manage to snag the little balcony to the left of the bar with standing room only, grab it! It's fun to have a drink from the bar and look out over the street life as you wait for your table. I was there on a busy Friday night without reservations and we got a table in about 10 minutes. I tried the quesadillas with "Menonita Cheese" which were delicious for an appetizer; there are 3 medium size tortillas folded with melted cheese; it's flavorful and kind of like a mild manchego. I didn't try the tacos, but they looked incredible. For the main course my party of 2 shared a "Cazuelo La Muñeca " which comes with tortillas and a chamorro (pork shank); you can make your own tacos. It was perfectly cooked, not fatty at all and absolutely delicious. We heard about this place from a guy sitting next to us on our flight coming to Mexico. As he described it to us, it was intriguing, in that there is no name posted, so you just go up the stairs and then you are there. The food and drinks were good. We enjoyed it enough the first time to want to go again. Each time I had one of the salads, which were very tasty. There's no beer on tap, so I had to settle for bottled beer. My partner got a margarita each time and raved about it. Overall, it's a treat to eat there. I'd recommend it for a special occasion. Tacos were SO good, there was such a big variety. Wish I could've tried more! We got a Mezcal based sour to drink and started with the ceviche - it was so fresh and delicious / the tuna was amazing! Fantastic tacos, good service, refilled salsa/limes at no cost. Was a bit crowded and hard to find (no sign, just need to go up the unlabeled stairs), but overall was a fantastic meal. I got the classic pork taco (first on the taco menu) and ended up ordering more because of how juicy and delicious it was. Guac was really good and pretty inexpensive ($58 MXN I believe). The vibes here are IMMACULATE, it's very unassuming from the outside but once you get upstairs you feel as if you're transported to another world I don't even remember exactly what we ordered, but I just know that I had one of the best ceviches I've ever had here. We tried two different ceviches - one tuna and another I can't remember - but the depth of flavor was incredible. We were able to try several different tacos off the menu and they were very hit or miss - some of them were really unique and flavorful while others were a bit bland. We found this place on Google after wandering around the Roma Norte neighborhood for awhile. The restaurant is located on a higher floor and there is only a sandwich board with on the street with the restaurant name. I think the restaurant is divided into multiple rooms, but the room we were in was packed and tables were VERY close to their neighbors (not for the COVID-conscious). I asked the waiter which tacos were the most popular and he suggested one with tuna, one called la muñeca (I think) and the San Diego (chicken). The muñeca and taco with tuna were delicious - the meats were cooked perfectly and each taco was well-seasoned. The San Diego (chicken) taco, however, was a disappointment. The chicken was over cooked and dried out, and no amount of salsa could save it. The total bill came out to be closer to American pricing, but the food overall was good, so worth a try if you're in the neighborhood and willing to spend the money. read more

I had high hopes for this restaurant, but it was just ok. It's a very touristy spot with many customer speaking English. My Mezcal Pepino cocktail was pretty good and it was well balanced with the smokiness of the mezcal and the freshness of the cucumber. For food I ordered the Taco Xochimilco, Taco La Poblana, and Taco Emalaura. All 3 tacos were ok, but as I mentioned there was nothing special about them. This restaurant is a must for anyone visiting CDMX. It's a little hidden upstairs but once you are there, you feel like you're in solarium. The menu is extensive, the tacos and cocktails are delicious, and the service is truly unbelievably good. When I thought I might have lost my wallet the servers went way out of their way to look for it and check the surveillance video. I ended up finding it, but I was so moved because this level of care is not something I've ever experienced in the states. Hidden gem with excellent service and quality dining experience without being pretentious. The Mezcal cocktails were to die for and the ambiance was delightful. Interesting, intriguing and special is what I can call Páramo. While staying at a BnB in the neighborhood of Roma Norte in CDMX, we were always on the lookout for close by eateries, cafés, coffee shops and bakeries. This one hit the spot in oh so many ways! It turns out to be one you don't appreciate from outside off hand, as it's somewhat obscure but once you enter, Wow! We ventured in. It turns out, Páramo is a sophisticated eatery and cocktail lounge with uncommon, fine and beautiful woodwork, table settings, an amazing bar with an incredible display of alcohol, reminiscent of San Francisco's Pied Piper Bar (but much smaller). This sophisticated eatery shows its stance not only in looks, but in its menu offerings, elite service and professional presentations. Apparently, they are also unique in the types and styles of Mexican fare offered. We started with Pulque de Orumba, an incredibly unique alcoholic drink made from maguey and a few beers for those more timid in our group. We decided to go whole hog into experimenting with traditional and distinctive flavors not normally found in U.S. Mexican restos. We ordered a Sobe de Nopal con Hummus de Aguacate (Prickly Pear Soup with Avocado Hummus) this was fascinatingly good! Also, we went for a Tamal de Frijol con Mole Almendrado (Bean Tamale with Almond Mole) - you want unique, this is it - it was fantastic. The flavors were exciting without being overwhelming and also delicious. Next came the Taco de Huevo de Codorniz con arroz negro (Quail Egg Taco with Black Rice), again, fab beyond explanation. I was enchanted by the uniqueness, the exoticness and deliciousness of these uncommon (to us) dishes. Our group experienced much more that evening, too much to include here. The crux of the matter is, that we were extremely elated to discover the Páramo experience when we did, as it turned out to be one of the top ten restaurants we visited and experienced while staying in Roma Norte. If you're ever in the vicinity, this is a must stop, as you will never regret it. read more

This place is well hidden as you have to go upstairs to the restaurant to find it, and it gets crazy busy, as it should ! Waited 45 minutes as was expected and killed time having some guacamole and delicious cocktails at the bar area. Trendy vibes and nice music, great for a date or an outing with friends. Anytime I can be in another country and hear The Smiths "How Soon Is Now," playing while I eat...it's almost guaranteed that I had a good time. The rain almost stopped us from finding the restaurant on foot, but we made it and quickly walked upstairs to find a well lit, lively place. Service was attentive and the food was very good. I had (surprise!) TACOS. My reason for giving four stars instead of five is mainly because I've had more tacos throughout Mexico City that were half the price. Came to Mexico for a couple of weeks two years ago and went several times...world of difference between the two visits...it was much much better before. American tourists, keep coming!! It s a favorite of locals. At least that's both our tour guides told us. And we actually ran into our e-bike tour guide at the restaurant so that was a good sign. No reservations. So be prepared to wait for anywhere between 30-60 mins. They have a tiny bar where you can get some drinks while you wait. They have 3 different eating areas. On sundays they open at 7:00pm and open till 2:00am. It's in the Roma Norte section of the town. After ordering our food, we had to wait a while to get our tacos and unfortunately they arrived cold. I deducted a star for that. I got their pork shoulder based on the recommendation from the server and it was good. Also has the fried white fish tacos that was great if it was warm. I also got the chorizo tacos. Definitely stay away, the chorizo was dry and I almost chocked on it. It has spicy potatoes in it that gave it great flavor. I also got the shrimp ceviche and guacamole that was great. For me it ended up being 3.5 stars but if your food arrives warm, then it can be a 4 star place. I really really really wanted to love this place based on previous reviews, however there is truly no excuse for the poor quality of food. My friends and I waited more than 2 hours for a table, but I wont complain about that because it was busy. The tacos we ordered were not appetizing at all, and one of them had completely raw chicken (see photo). Me and my friend are sick with food poisoning. On top of that, there was an endless parade of drunk, pushy hipsters entering while we waited. No one was communicated with and there was generally an air of confusion.
