Called the gentleman and asked if they served the Hampstead area...answer "Yuh"- Then asked are they coming from Wilmington...answer "Yuh"..nothing else-silent pause. Then I asked what part of Wilmington would they be coming from. Answer..."Wilmington"- Nothing else. No politeness, no elaboration. Just flat out rude. Would never get in a vehicle with any of them. 2 separate Pyramid Taxi cars were going down 133 towards Wilmington and their driving could only be considered reckless. Both drivers were weaving in and out of traffic, riding peoples bumper, then as a result of that, slamming on brakes to keep from hitting the car in front. The final straw for me was when both of them passed 4-5 cars in a turn lane in front of an elementary school (see picture below). This company is the reason there are wrecks and people get hurt because of poor planning. read more

Pyramid Taxi refused to provide service to my wife and I because my Disabled Veteran wife has a Mobility and Retrieval Service Dog. It was explained to the driver that the Service Dog was for my wife's disabilities, and that under Federal law the Service Dog is classified as a Medical Device. The driver then stated that there would be an "upcharge", at which time, I politely explained to him that it was against the Americans with Disabilities Act and Federal Law to impose any additional fees because of the presence of a medical device or Service Dog. The driver stated "This was a nice conversation" and then drove off, ultimately refusing service to my disabled Veteran wife and I. read more

I locked my keys in my car tonight, Christmas Eve at 11pm, while popping in to a friends place to feed her cats while she's out of town for the holidays (i confused her keys with mine). I called 8 different locksmiths and taxis that either didn't answer or couldn't do it since it's a holiday, totally understandable. I called Pyramids and Mo got to me in 10 minutes and opened my car door in less than 3! Super nice, quick response time, and expert on the service. Thank you for helping me out during a hard time! Called them up after my flight was delayed and came in late. Very prompt service, great communication via text regarding the arrival time etc. The car was clean, the driver was very professional and got me where I needed to go along with some great conversation. So, I called these nice folks, and they fixed me up for half what the locksmith quoted (under$50!). I got stranded at Wilmington airport because budget rental car company overbooked and had no car for us. While I was happy Pyramid came to pick us up ( it is their job so probably shouldn't be congratulating them For that necessarily), they sent 2 cars which we needed for the amount of passengers. However, while our ride to the Marriott was $42, The driver who took my 20 year old daughter and friend to the same Marriott at the same time right behind us, charged her $70 and told her she didn't know how to use the actual meter. They took advantage because my daughter was young. Unprofessional and criminal. read more

They left me high and dry!!!! I knew I should have signed up for Uber or Lyft. Called a few hours earlier to set up a 3:15 pick up at a specific address for an airport service. They never showed, they never called! I repeatedly called with no answer and even sent a text with no answer. I got to the airport late, miss my flight with a non-refundable ticket and it cost me hundreds of dollars to rebook. What a disappointing start to a much-needed vacation. Thank you pyramid Taxi. UNRELIABLE! DISAPPOINTED!! I really wanted to use a locally owned car service and was truly let down.!! I guess I will sign up for Uber now like the rest of my friends have. read more

I reserved an early morning Lyft ride the night before but apparently Lyft can take your $$ with an advanced reservation but never bother to ensure you have a driver. I almost missed my flight but thanks to DB I am now posting this from my plane seat and will arrive home on time. Trust the cab companies always!!! read more

My husband and I got in late at the Wilmington airport, and we found that our car battery was dead. MoMo at Pyramid Cabs was sitting outside baggage claim waiting to help deplaning passengers needing a ride. MoMo went above and beyond for us. He was prepared to drive us to our home (and the going rate was $30). However, when he learned that our battery was dead, he offered to jump start our car instead at no charge. He got us going and on our way home in our own car without picking up the fare from us. Obviously we offered him a generous tip and a great deal of thanks! We appreciate Pyramid Cabs and MoMo for taking such good care of us! Would highly recommend and will use them whenever needed :) read more

Hyundai Sonata with Egypt (or some other Arab nation) flag suspended from rear view mirror. Driver was texting and driving the whole time, pretended to be lost and drove around in circles intentionally to run the mileage clock as we neared the destination. Froze when he realized I had GPS on my iPhone. If you're going to commit fraud at least don't make it so obvious you moron. read more

I wanted to try out a new, maybe nicer cab company, so I scheduled a ride to the airport with Pyramid the night before. Called again 25 mins prior to confirm that morning but they couldn't tell me for sure if someone was on the way. I was told to call back if the cab driver wasn't there ten mins before the scheduled time. So I did, but still no clear update- they assumed he was on the way. I get a call from my cab driver after the scheduled pick up time, and he did not know the details for our trip. Tried to hire another cab company last minute but they were all equally far out. I was picked up 20 mins late in a filthy cab with loose clothing piled all in it and he barely knew his way to the airport. If I hadn't gotten extremely lucky at the airport (20 people letting us jump ahead at security, lightening, a kind pilot telling the desk to accommodate), I 100% would have missed my flight. read more

They should rename their company "50-50 Cab Company" because if you call them there is a fifty-fifty chance they will show up. No matter when you call them or where you are at they will say "15-20 minutes" but it could be 15 minutes or 2 or 3 hours before they show-up. Even if you tell them you need to be a certain place by a certain time they might show-up four hours later and get angry and insult you if you say it is too late, you missed your appointment or if you called someone else because Pyramid lied or no-showed. If you give them another chance they will say "15-20 minutes" like always and then not send anyone at all. They should be going out of business very soon. (I gave them one star because they did show up on-time two of the six times I have called them--but "50-50 Cab Company" has a better ring to it than "33-66 Cab Company"). Sad to say, most of the taxi-cab companies in Wilmington are poorly-run like this. read more
