So because of all of the great reviews, we decided to give The Transporter a try, and we're so glad we did! Richard, the owner, is SUPER communicative and easy to work with. The early afternoon before my 6am flight to Wilmington North Carolina, I find out that my $100+ a night hotel doesn't offer shuttle service from the airport to the hotel! Annoying right !! I googled "ILM taxi service", they were 3rd on the list; normally I'd call the one at the top of the list but something about their name "the NC transporter" got me to call them first. Yes, I've seen too many movies with Jason Statham behind the wheel ! I was genuinely worried: T minus 15 hours and I'm in North Carolina. if these guys can't help it was going to be a long afternoon for me...figuring out how to get to my hotel...NO I'm not a fan of Uber... I sent them an email with my needs and I got a quick response with a quote; it was a deal! I told them to pick me up 20 mins after my scheduled flight arrival; I'm being nice, accounting for any flight delays; I imagine taxis have better things to do than wait around. It turns out they monitored my flight! As soon as my phone woke up from it's "airplane mode" induced slumber, I got a message telling me the driver was waiting for me at a specific curbside location, including the color of the taxi and the name of the driver! It was awesome, a walking dead zombie could have found the taxi! I got in and was off. The driver was friendly, had lots of stories to tell and was efficient. Moreover, he drove like a "professional " driver...I'm trusting my life with this guy! I don't give out many 5 stars but really these guys are as good as it gets! Provided me with great service despite what seemed like a last minute arrangement. They were efficient and profession from beginning to end. Great customer service and communication! Utilized his services from the Wilmington airport to Bald Head for 10 people and he was awesome! Had him take our family from Bald Head to Airport and had medical issues and he tried to accommodate me the entire time even though it was touch and go and not specific times determined. The Transporter is a great way to get to the airport and back. We made a round trip reservation with a 5:00 AM pick up at home, and a 10:00 PM return pick up three weeks later. I would trust the Transporter with any and all transpo services! I was visiting a friend from out of town at a somewhat remote lake-house, and had to get to the airport for an early morning flight. I'm a paranoid airport person (I prefer to be there early) so leaving my arrival time up to a driver was making me nervous but the Transporter (well, Richard, Mike and Shane) were wonderful! They let me know exactly how much time I needed to get to the airport and complied with a smile when I asked to be picked up earlier. The driver was courteous, on time, friendly, drove safe, and the vehicle was clean. Next time I'm in the area I will 100% be using their services again.
