For whatever reason, that particular resident's cell phone wasn't working. Offered to take her number if I could get a hold of that resident to give it to her. When I reported that I couldn't reach her, Valerie stooped to blaming me for wasting her time. She also suggested (condescendingly) that I make an emergency announcement to ask this resident to call her before you she hung up on me. If I make an emergency announcement, every single resident hears it - let alone doing it at 9:30 in the morning. We're not a Walmart, I'm not going to use our intercoms and wake up all of our residents for your failing one-star transportation business.

At best, I receive short lived assistance from others and that assistance is usually limited to what others decide I need. While all types of assistance are welcomed and appreciated, in Wilmington, NC, look no further than Kennedy Companion Care to get Your Needs Met! From the first phone conversation we had, I realized they offer a spectacular service that I have not found in my three years of looking for the assistance I need, which is more challenging than most situation. With no one person to whom I am loved as a priority, I often need assistance so many take for granted. I require a service that can provide compassionate care of listening to me and assisting me in finding solutions that work for me! I require uninterrupted conversation, folks who aren't afraid to help with litter boxes, folks who will see solutions to even mundane tasks my disabilities will not allow me to do successfully, someone who will advocate for me, and I need the usual housekeepin, running errands, and checking to see that my personal care goals are met. Best of all, I went from needing a crisis line call yesterday to feeling like a treasured person today. My caregiver made me feel whole today. When she left, I am still carrying a peacefulness, and joy that no other person ventured to do for a very long time. I feel heard; I feel wanted; I feel as if I am still lovable. She couldn't have given me a better Christmas gift if she tried. When looking for a caregiver, the best you can find is someone who honestly enjoys being with their charge. Someone to whom the adult needing assistance feels there is a bond, a real interest in who that person is. This gift can't be trained. Either it is there or not. Most agencies charge a lot and then you get told what cannot be done. Kennedy Companion Care prices are competitive but they are the only ones who say I will help any way needed. Even administrative individuals have come to assist me if required. Hire Kennedy Companion Care and you will receive a Christmas gift for the family.

When my 97 year old aunt, who has some dementia, moved in with me we needed a consistent caregiver several times a week. We feel so fortunate to have found someone who not only brings her competent skills and caring attitude, but provides joy and laughter. In addition to the necessary care, she brings poems or an inspiring story to share and she plays my aunts favorite game of Rummikub. We look forward to the days she's here and I'm a little jealous because they have so much fun. Comfort Keepers staff has been so very supportive and attentive to our needs. I know my aunt is getting quality care while enjoying our caregiver's company, and that's a blessing! Laura W 6/26/21
