My apportionment with my doctor was very smooth. His assistant proficient and knowledgeable. My…read moresurgery has been scheduled and I'm actually looking forward to it. Now!!! The getting in the front door and trying to do all of the insurance stuff in advance, as they suggest, was worse than pulling teeth. Hopefully this isn't everyone's experience. When you ask me for my insurance info and I give it to you more than once I expect that it is being input into. System you can later refer to. They continued to tell me my insurance was inactive. After many conversations explaining that they were pulling up my old insurance that this is new and yet again giving them all of the insurance details AND calling my insurer they said all was well. The day I arrived for my appointment - nope still pulled my old insurance. Then a miracle happened!!!!! OH we should probably enter your insured number....ya think! This was after they tried to get me to sign an uninsured payment statement!! Told me I'd need to reschedule if i didn't want to sign it. (I didn't sign). Finally all was magically found and my new insurance was there and the appt moved forward. Nothing is more frustrating than being in pain and having to stand on your swollen feet for /0 mins because of somebody else's incompetence. They were friendly and smiled the entire time so while signing in formmy appt was a fiasco it was at least pleasant. After the appt the staff were amazing and the follow up to prep for surgery has gone very well!

After I have been told by the office personnel that I either have to come to my appointment for a…read morebiopsy or a aspiration (meaning that I was told different stories every time I interacted with the Doctor's office), I finally got in front of the Dr. who rolled his eyes and he saw that I am not undressed for the biopsy and when he realized that I wanted him to explain what is the reason for my appointment, what it entails, risks etc...before I agree with any procedure. The Dr. responded to my worries without any glimpse of compassion, adding that he has no time for debate/explanation and that probably the missinformation received by me is actually "a language barrier" on my part (because I have a accent!). Guess what Mr. Bebbs, your comment is discriminatory the least! After I realized in which hands I was, I told the Dr that I just want to go home since I am not confortable being in his office anymore!

I went to Dr. Bebb after being diagnosed with aT3 melenoma that required Mohs surgery. He was sent…read morethe results and was supposed to arrange an interview to explain my options. Not knowing if all of the cancer was removed after waiting a week I called his office and after not actually being able to talk to a real person I left a message. I called a few days later and then again before I finally was called back. My wife and I went to the appointment. I realize it was my appointment, but Dr. Bebb never acknowledged she was in the office. They performed a sonogram before he came in, he told me it was negative, pulled up a Web page from the Cancer institute and read it to me. He then made an appointment with a Radiologist. I went to that appointment and that doctor asked me what I was doing there as I had already had Mohs surgery and there was nothing he could do, that I needed a full body scan. After working with that office they told me Dr. Bebb's office would need to schedule it for me. I called and called and called finally getting a call back when they did schedule it for me. Office staff on phone are rude. Nurse very nice and helpful, but when calling for my results of the MRI over and over again, still not knowing if the cancer is totally gone the nurse finally called back and gave me her opinion. A day later she called again telling me Dr. Bebb had reviewed the scan and said it was clear. Dr. Bebb never called me. I will not be returning to his office for further sonograms or for any other thing else. I feel Dr. Bebb was annoyed I had the Mohs surgery before I went to him and he could not perform any surgery on my lymph nodes and then the results were negative he still could not do surgery he was done with me and wanted nothing to do with me at that point. Avery cold doctor.

I am here to advise anyone seeking to get medical treatment from Tabetha Smith. I started seeing…read moreTabetha in April of 2012 and at that time my Thyroid number was at 200 - 160 to 170 being the normal; so it wasn't that way off. By the time I stopped seeing her per my intution that she was literally killing my thyroid my number was at 1475. She prescribed Iodine by huge doses and kept up-ing my dose each time. I finally told her that I wanted to stop being on the iodine for I thought it was the cause of my numbers going up and she did not suggest that. Also, I was told by her office manager that if if I went to an endocrinologist, Tabetha could no longer see me. What was that all about?? So luckily I happened to move to Asheville and now being seen by a Wellness Doctor here and he immediately stopped the iodine. Due to so much iodine in my system my right side of my neck has been hurting since June and since I have eliminated the iodine my neck is almost back to normal. I am now with the help of my new holistic doctor trying to un-do the damage Tabetha created. There was no need to put so much iodine in my body - she could have done it so many other ways if she was knowledgable of other methods. So if you have thyroid issues, do yourself a favor and do not go to Insight Family Health. She may be good for other things, but not the thyroid. She did become defensive upon me questioning her knowledge of the thyroid. I found that unprofessional. A health care person needs to listen to the intution of their patients - especially if you are in holistic health. Thank you for listening, I am on my way to better health,

I came to Tabitha for bioidentical hormone replacement therapy. I had been using the pellets for…read moreseveral years before coming to her. I have always been very healthy and had virtually no medical problems my entire life until needing the hormones after an emergency hysterectomy. Almost immediately after going to Tabitha, she started recommending a variety of supplements. I took some of them. Then she informed me that my thyroid was out of whack and that I needed to start taking thyroid medicine. I do not take prescription meds for anything and always try alternatives. When I questioned how long I would have to take the medicine she said, "oh, you would have to take it for the rest of your life because it essentially deactivates or kills your thyroid." Well, my immediate answer was no, I've never had any thyroid problems before now. She said, "well, I check markers that most doctors don't check". In addition, since going to her for hrt, I was having nearly daily migraines and was rapidly becoming miserable. I started looking for another natural hormone doctor. I found one nearby and asked them to rerun my bloodwork to check my thyroid. They said, "your thyroid is completely normal". I started going to them for my hrt and have been thrilled with the improvements in my health since. And, when I asked this place to transfer my records, the gal in the front office (who may be Tabithas mother) was very rude and nasty to me for leaving their practice and would not even give me some of the information I asked for. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!

Totally useless and deserve less than zero stars. I could…read morehave asked my referring doctor who referred me to this place to refer me to different pain management doctor, but choose this practice because their website lists my medical condition twice as something they "specialize" in. They also mention "feet" 3 times and "injections" everywhere. I went so far as to call 5 weeks earlier and talk to a medical assistant and confirmed that they treat my condition with cortisone injections. So my appointment date comes and "Dr." Wall walks into the room, looks at a paper in his hand and says to me "I am supposed to talk to you about getting an electronic stimulator installed in your back". I knew then that he was a puppet and all was lost. I knew that he had violated my privacy rights and spoken to a previous Doctor of mine about a previous medical condition that I no longer have. The previous Doctor also violated my privacy rights. Please do not confuse my terms referring Doctor with previous Doctor, they are 2 different doctors. He never asked about my pain, where it was, what were my symptoms, or examined me. He never got closer than 10 feet to me. He clearly did not care why I was there or have any intention of treating the condition I came to see him for. To make things worse an electronic stimulator which is a glorified Tens Unit in my back is not recognized as a treatment for Neuropathy in feet. Where as, cortisone injections in my feet are widely used. He disagreed with this fact. Then I told him that there was a lot of information and photos of where to inject the cortisone into my feet to relieve neuropathic pain on many medical sites on the web. I know he is not a surgeon and I was not there for that but he also disagreed that surgery on my feet existed even thought I told him there were movies of it and surgeons who do such surgery on various medical websites. I even cited an article in "Practical Pain Management" magazine, which he said he subscribed to, that went into detail how nerve surgery has a 91% success rate for neuropathic pain. The article has pictures and everything. He said I had read it wrong. No, he is wrong.

To anyone that is considering going to Carolina Sports Medicine for medical treatment, or…read moreresearching for Orthopaedic surgeons, please read this. I feel that I have a obligation, and the public deserves to know the true integrity of these Dr's morals and beliefs. In June of 2019 I ended up falling down some steps and seriously injuring my knee. I went to the E.R. and was referred to Carolina Sports Medicine. I asked for a MRI because I have a bone disease that causes my bones to be brittle, and just by the way it was feeling, I knew I had done some serious damage to it. I was just getting over a previous surgery I had on my foot. The bone didn't heal like it was supposed to, so not only was I dealing with that, now I have the knee injury. I finally get my MRI, and the results show I have a fractured tibia and a complete tear of my ACL, MCL, and meniscus. I have to have surgery to repair it. In the meantime I am getting passed around to different Dr.s throughout the practice, because they are unable to do my case. So after 2 1/2 months I finally get a appointment with Dr. Messina. My mom has been to him, and liked him, and his P.A. Shawn Fitzgerald has daughters who have gone to elementary school with my son. So I was familiar with him. I show up for my appointment, and Shawn walks in. I was expecting to see Dr. Messina, but he went on vacation last minute, so I saw Shawn instead. I was upset, because once again I had to wait until I saw the Dr. to schedule it. When Shawn walks in he asks me how I've been, and I tell him there has been no improvement, and I'm ready to schedule the surgery. He looks at me and tells me I was going to be fine, and I shouldn't be asking him for surgery. I was so upset because I'd been dealing with so much pain and been passed on from Dr. to Dr. and now he's telling me I am ok? He continues to disregard me, and throws a full temper tantrum and stands up and sits back down and throws a pen at his computer. He condescending says to me "well let's schedule your surgery since you want it so bad". My husband asks him if he has read the results from my MRI on my chart? He never once reviewed my chart before he came in for my appointment. He half heartily apologizes, and completely disregards losing his temper with me, and making me out as a liar. He surprisingly doesn't remember my son, or my husband, which were at his house for his daughters birthday. I asked him if I were to be a athlete, I would have already had the surgery, and his response was yes.... He has become complacent, and feels like his decision shouldn't be questioned. Whenever my husband asked him why he didn't look in my chart, the nurse was real quick to tell my husband he needed to calm down and refrain from any feedback. The next day I was scheduled to see Dr. Shawn Messina. I had took notes from the previous day, and I wanted to discuss with him how unprofessional Shawn had treated me. I am waiting to be seen in the room, and Dr. Messina walks in and literally says to me, I heard you were disrespectful to my staff? Apparently I wasn't supposed to question anyone about the incident, and I was to accept the fact that Shawn made decisions based on his personal opinion, and not by looking at actual facts that have been proven to be true beyond all reasonable doubt determined by medical testing. I want people to see the real Dr. Messina that discriminates against patients ability to receive treatment because they are not athletes, or refusing to believe your patients when they tell you your P.A. is being negligent to their well being, and immediately you are willing to cut the relationship between patient and doctor, because it is more important to cover up for your colleague, than it is to protect your patients. I ended up going to Duke for my surgery, and it turned out great! She's been practicing for 28 years, and said she hasn't seen a injury like that in years. She also told me with your medical training, you were able to see just how bad the tear was, and couldn't believe you didn't do anything to help me. It says volumes about your character. You weren't confident enough as a doctor to attempt it, and I was liability risk to you. You thought I wouldn't end up healing. You couldn't fix me, and you were to proud to admit it, if you were a good doctor, you would have acknowledged that it was beyond your abilities, and you would find a mutual fellow that shared your medical abilities to help the patient get the treatment they needed. But instead you waited 2 1/2 months to tell me it was my fault because I didn't let your colleague allow him to treat me bad. You don't deserve to be able to take care of people... Maybe one day your family member will meet someone like you, and you will be able to know the feeling of someone you love not getting the proper care they deserve...
