It was fun and entertaining to watch each other try to figure out the clues too. This isn't my strong suit, but it was still a good time. Our particular room as cabin themed and we were given an hour to try and unlock the padlock on the door. We solved it with 17 minutes to spare! I have done about 25 all over the country and this one did NOT disappoint. A few considerations- be sure to be early. The room starts at your start time! They didn't require us to sign waivers like many places do. We did the Istanbul Gambit room, which I honestly was not stoked about beforehand. It didn't sound like a very interesting theme. But ya'll, I was wrong! Furthermore, this room didn't just ask you to escape, but also to complete a few other goals too. I liked that! The room made great sense and had a lot of neat reveals. The room did feature a combination of old school keys and locks and codes, and more advanced locks and puzzles. There's a lot of surprises in there. Be sure to bring a competent team because this room does not play around as far as difficulty goes. They also offer unlimited hints, so feel free to ask for help if you need it. My only real critique is that when we did ask for one hint at the end, the game master gave us TOO MUCH information. But that's a quibble. Check this place out. It doesn't look like much from the outside but it was great!

We opted to have hints that they would send when we weren't on the right track/losing time and it definitely helped but wasn't too obvious, so it still made it fun. Missing Pieces did just that, with some very unique puzzles that took all of our collective effort. We escaped and had a good time doing it, and that's a success.

As soon as we were locked in, however, the fun began. Riddler's Escape is St. Cloud's second Escape Room. There are two rooms to choose from - Detective Lockwood, which is akin to a Sherlock Holmes kind of mystery, or the Capricorn Killer, which is a bit scarier room. Our work colleagues and spouses were split between the two rooms. Neither of us succeeded in "escaping," but great fun was had by both teams. Each room will accommodate up to 10 people. We were there with about 7 per room. I think that, had we had another person or two, we might have moved along more quickly. After signing a waiver, locking up your phones, and watching a short introductory video, the game-master introduces you to your game and then you're ushered into your room. The clock starts ticking, and you're free to explore the room to find clues, puzzles, and more. Each puzzle leads you to a key or some other clue so that you can advance toward your final discovery, which is the code that lets you out of the room. You're able to ask the game master for clues every 10 minutes, if you get stuck. We were stuck a couple of times, and took advantage of asking for clues. I highly recommend doing that, as it keeps things moving along. It was a lot of fun, with a few surprises along the way. I highly recommend the Lockwood room for families, friends, work colleagues, team building, or just some out of the ordinary entertainment. The room is well done and everyone had an enjoyable time. I wouldn't recommend the Capricorn Killer room for young children.
