Will never support this business again. My first experience with this business owner was several years ago. My son attended their skate camp at a young age. He loved all things on wheels, but was rather cautious to drop in on some of the bowls and such at the skate park where the camp was being held. For good reason. My son performs an athletic art form professionally and has to be careful not to injure himself, or his training and performing suffer significantly. My son was told by the business owner "You will never be able to skate". What?!? I let it go and explained to my son the man was not used to working with professional performers that MUST use caution and he could succeed in anything he wanted. Fast forward four years and my son is doing really well at skateboarding and needed his grip tape changed out. We had a prior engagement that day, but made sure that we left the event early to make it to push skate shop before 5 PM. We already spoken with the business center on the phone and he said that they closed at five but that it would only take a few minutes to takeoff the existing grip tape and place new grip tape. He was really nice on the phone and we want to support our local businesses, so off we go. My son walked in at 4:52pm and was turned away. The grip tape wasn't even attached and took seconds to peel off. The placement took less than two minutes at another business, so the guy would have been done with time to spare before 5pm. My son left the store instead in tears, and we went over to the mall skate shop which is also local business owners and they were super helpful and very nice. Again it took less than five minutes to take off the grip tape and placed in crêpe tape. If push skate shop wants to be completely done with customers and task by 5 PM, then the last client allowed in the store should be at 4:45 and they should lock their doors and let the client out at 5 PM precisely. What makes it even worse as if this guy knew we were coming and knew that we had a prior engagement and would be getting there just before closing. He could've save me a trip and we could've stayed at the event longer and not felt rushed to make it to PUSH. Now I don't don't know about you, but I set my last appointment for the day at 30 minutes before I need to be done. That allows me time to help my last client and still be able to shut down and get out by the time that I need to leave the office. I would not recommend PUSH SKATE SHOP to anyone. I'm not one to give negative reviews and clearly I give second chances, but this guy had his last chance with me.
