I cant remember the mechanic's name that looked at my bike today. But i think it starts with a "J". Anyways, I"ll call him bottom bracket guy. I went afraid i might have to replace my bottom bracket (Expensive replacement) because there was alot of lateral wiggle in it. Another mechanic days earlier at REI, after just explaining the issue, bet it was just loose and may not need replacing. With high hopes of loose, Bottom Bracket Guy put it on the stand, and witha pull this way and a tug that-a-way, he looked at me said..."yup, it loose". And with that, whiped out a magic tool and with a turn this-a-way, and a twist that-a-way, my bottom bracket was fixed and the day was saved!! Some places would've told me it was broke and needed a new one which wouldve broken my bottom bracket!! Anyhow, an estatic thank you and again wonderful, honest service.

They have taken the hardcore outdoor gear supplies down a knotch or two to make space for the things downtown visitors would live (in my opinion) as they have many more candles and stickers. On a recommendation from our super nice server at The Open Oven restaurant, we stopped in to Take a Hike to grad a pair from him. We we happy to see that they allow pets/dogs in the store so that one of us wasn't stuck in the car with the pups. The store has tons of great clothes, shoes, socks and other supplies you might want for hiking. There is typically plenty of parking in the lot or nearby. Standard small town hours. The shop is clean and organized. They have a good sampling of outdoor gear. Lots of seasonal clothing, some camping gear and backpacks and some Knick knacks such as hydration tabs and stickers. There is a sale rack in back. Everything is very pricy as goes with outdoor gear shops especially small ones. I would still argue that it's pretty similar to the standard- not more expensive than REI or the like. I'd definitely recommend this place for a stop in. They have a nice curated selection. Plus it's always the season for a fun new outdoor toy to inspire you to get outside ;)
