Wow, what a gem of a shop! This little bike joint opened up just before Christmas and is for the urban cyclist. From fabulous cycle stickers, to boutique tire valve covers, this shop is a gift buying dream. This chap really knows what he's doing when it comes to cool. The minimal clutter separates this shop from other bike joints. The beautiful bikes are lined up in order of brand with a whole wall of quirky and unusual cycle helmets in the downstairs area. There is also a little workshop where they fit poorly bikes. How cool is that! It's a trek out if you don't live in the area but so worth it for the brilliant shopping experience. A small staff means that you know who's serving you and you'll see them on your next visit, as after the first time, for certain you'll be back. Now all I need to do is buy a bike! read more

Push cycles you definitely push my buttons baby! What a cute little shop, with easy on the eye staff. I thought this shop was immaculate looking with all the single speed , mountains and hybrids lined beautifully. I was too busy eyeing up the pink and blue vintage styled ones... don't get me wrong I love my baby but silver ain't my favourite colour. Downstairs had more bicycles with all their quirky styled helmet, I mean I saw a MJ styled helmet and a lovely flowery pink one which they did not have in my size :(. It is also a repair shop downstairs as well. Upstairs with the bicycles are all the other cycle accessories from locks, bells, clothes, repair kits etc. I bought my baby new bell which said "I love my bike" for five pounds which a really good bell not like my bad excuse for a bell that came with my bicycle. I loved my shopping experience here, the friendly staff really know their stuff and gave me a free bag (with their logo on it), which I carry proudly around. read more

Great independent bike shop. I've bought two bikes from Push and they have exceeded my expectations on both occasions. They are really friendly and knowledgable and let me try lots of different bikes before I chose mine. They also include a free service after 1 month and also after 1 year. If I've ever had any small problems they've also been more than happy to have a quick look at things - this has usually been on the house too. I couldn't recommend Push enough - brilliant local shop. read more

Cute new bicycle shop on Newington Green. They've got a nice selection of bikes for casual cyclists as well as more serious gearheads and the accessories are adorable as well (Bern helmets!) Really helpful staff. Testriding the bikes on the roundabout may be a little nervewracking but you can also try and stick to the bigger patches of sidewalk... read more

AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! A couple of days ago my back wheel got punctured over night as it was very worn out. I went to Push Cycle shop and I explained the issue and subsequently I asked "How much is this going to cost me altogether?" (The tyre needed to be changed) And he says "it's £10 altogether". I thought it was an excellent price! Once at the till he says it was £40 and we started arguing as at the beginning he told me something else! Very rudely he tried to make me feel I misunderstood when I clearly heard it! He decided he wasn't going to help me in any ways and therefore he removed the new tyre. When I took my bike and opened the door he embarrassed me in front of two or three other customers by saying "hey are you going to f...ing pay me or what?" I said, "are you kidding? What am I paying for? You removed the new tyre and put it the way it was before!" He, without saying anything, put a new tube inside the tyre. I paid £10 for it. As soon as I left the back wheel was flat again. I tried and pump it up myself but as soon as i got on the bike it went flat. Angrily I went to another shop in Dalston. The actual price to change the tyre was £40 here as well but at least the guy was very friendly and helpful! He even gave me a discount! At push cycle, I have been treated awfully bad and spent money on a broken inner tube! I think he punctured the new inner tube on purpose!!! NEVER COME HERE!!! read more

Amazing little local bike store... I walk past it on my way to work every day and drool at the bikes through the window. Finally got round to getting my old, decrepit heap of a bike fixed in there this morning. Very helpful and friendly staff that sorted my bike out in no time. These guys are great, used to be my local bike shop and they did a number of quick and easy repair jobs for free and they are always helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend them as the friendliest and best bike shop that I found in North London. read more

Avoid. Very poor service, patronising attitude and gave me, as i found it later, incorrect advice. Took bike in service and replcement chanin/cog set. Wheel was damaged. I was quoted £350 for a new wheel (no mention made of a wheel rebuild until i suggested it (c£80) - took 3 days to get that quote (whereas London Fields cycles rang back with a price in 10 mins). Despite this, I left it with them while i went on holiday. A week later they claimed they couldn't source a new wheel rim of the correct dimensions so it'd have to be a new wheel. Really? I made 1 phone call to 1 supplier and i had the correct rim in 2 days for £30 and a wheel rebuild cost £35 elsewhere. Oh and did i mention the wheel rim "exploded" while in their care? So one small job caused c£100 worth of damage and a lot of worry. As i said, avoid like the plague. read more

Generally, bike shops tend to have a reputation for poor customer service. All too often, the standard of repairs is variable too. I have been to too many bike shops in London where the service has been condescending and at best indifferent. Happily, Push Cycles is a wonderful exception. I had my bike serviced here recently, and much to my surprise received some of the friendliest service I can remember. The repair was done quickly same day, and there was no need to book, and the price was very reasonable. Highly recommended, particularly to those jaded with bike shops. read more

This place is great! I really needed to freshen up my old bike for a biking trip and these guys did and amazing job. They were very professional, polite and friendly. When I showed up a few days later to pick my bike they offered me coffee and even gave me reflective badges as a gift! From the looks of it this place has a wide selection of bike and if I need changing mine I will be definitely be buying a bike from here. read more

I saw the reviews and had been past the shop and I was hoping for some great things. I took my bike in (which needed a service pretty badly) on a Friday. The guys in the shop we're nice fellas and pretty helpful and pointed. They pointed out that i would need a new front wheel (which then we chose one in the shop) and a few other pieces and said my bike would be ready on the Monday. Monday came and as i hadn't heard anything i went to the shop (near closing time) to pick my bike up to only get a call when i was about 100 meters away to tell me my bike wouldn't be ready, as the wheel hadn't come in yet. Even though we had picked one out in the shop on the Friday. I was told my bike would be ready the next day. It wasn't. This went on until the Friday, when finally the wheel 'arrived'. Even though my bike had been in the shop for a week and i had been assured that the service etc had been done, i was told my bike wouldn't be ready until the end of the day. Once i picked my bike up, it felt better, new brakes a good cleand service, though i did notice that after about a mile one of the nuts holding the new wheel on had come loose and fallen off. The other one was so loose i could undo it by hand. Luckily the whole wheel didn't come off. I was less than impressed that they hadn't even bothered to tighten the nuts that hold the wheel on. My bike also feels sluggish, i think the barings etc that they replaced where cheap and not as high spec as the old parts. I also, 2 days later got a puncture in the rear wheel, when pulling over to the side of the road i tried to undo the nuts on the rear wheel and they had been done up so tight i broke my wrench trying to loosen them. It took two men to get the nut off. Im 100% dissapointed with Push cycles and won't be taking either of my other bikes there. read more

Gave these guys a good chance, because I wanted to support my local independent bike store. Chose to get my bike rebuilt and resprayed. Good price, but was assured it would take 1 week, but it ended up taking 3. They failed to update me at any point, leaving me to call repeatedly to find out when it would be ready. When I did get it back, the brakes were badly adjusted. Took my bike back last week to get the crank repaired. Quoted me £40 same day. Left it to me to call back later that day only to find it wouldn't be ready until Monday. On Monday I called only to be told it was going to cost £70 and wouldn't be ready to the end of the week. Chose to take my bike back. No apologies. Ended up repairing the crank myself, without replacing at all! Certainly friendly and not pretentious, like so many other bike stores. But not really committed to turning bikes around quickly and I doubt the quality of the service they provide. read more

This is a great bike shop with knowledgeable, friendly staff. They've fixed my bike twice - both times the service was fast and professional and the charge was far cheaper than I expected to pay. I highly recommend this bike shop, especially for people who are tired of bike shops that overcharged for poor service. Even if you don't live in Newington Green, this place is worth the trip. read more

I took by bike for a puncture repair and when I collected it, noticed the back wheel was distorted with a broken spoke. I don't know why they didn't notice it. They fixed this for the extra price and when I picked it up the brakes were rubbing on the wheel so they had to adjust it again. read more

Pretty bad service. Bike was ready late. When I phoned they were rude on the phone. Built a new wheel but it went out of alignment shortly afterwards. Incorrectly adjusted the rear derailleur so that the chain rubbed the frame. Shop looks nice but I'd rather go to a bike shop where they know what they are doing. read more
