However, I am not a fan of it now under Genesis management. The current price point is absurd for what you get, and I've watched machines sit out of order for months. It seems like genesis is a big fan of dramatic remodels, but not of regular maintenance. The entire place also just has a weird conservative hostility to it now as well. As someone gender non-conforming, I feel unwelcome in this space. I was also denied a couples rate because apparently a 3 year age gap between partners is suspicious? Overall, I don't plan on being a member here too much longer. For convenience and classes, it's worth it to me, but barely.

Lots of great things about this club…read more Great fitness instructors and wide variety of classes available of all kinds! The club manager Mariah works her tail off and is the heart of the gym. She spends so much time there and pours her heart into this place. The fellow members are friendly. There is a bar available with food and frequent activities and events that really help build this community of the fcc club.

He has taken the time to talk with our son's coaches, watched videos and even came to watch him compete so that he could understand what the sport of figure skating is all about. Alex has customized our son's workouts to target the areas that he needs to be extra strong in, all while being careful not to bulk him up. The results are apparent and have helped our son stay healthy and take his skating to the next level. If you have a student athlete, or are an athlete yourself, I highly recommend this gym. We do both personal training and the group classes and couldn't be happier with the outcome.

Not too sure of all the complaints below here…read more This seems to me like there is a large population of old-timers that have experienced an operational change in the business that they are personally not satisfied with. I'm a Calisthenics athlete, with much experience in a variety of gyms. This is one of the only locations with a Sauna, Steam Room, and two Olympic-sized pools with multiple lanes readily available. Their core equipment is fantastic - there are no bent barbells as mentioned in the reviews below (again, no idea where this is coming from) You are paying to stay healthy. So focus on staying healthy. As far as the staff - they are young, but attentive and kind. I myself am 30 and I have literally never had a problem with them. If I have locked myself out of a locker, need education on the available personal trainers, or if I (like one of the posts below) mention a ***particular*** (1/1000) towel hasn't been washed properly - they take it right off my hands. I personally love Genesis and the staff as an athlete who needs a local place to hit all muscle groups. Do not let the below comments from individuals below who probably couldn't pick up a toothpick sway you from a fantastic center. As far as cancellation goes, I have heard nothing but that is an easy process. "Predatory" does not describe the cancellation process at Genesis. What I find remarkable is that Genesis Health Clubs Miramont South continues to ask members for more money while simultaneously expecting them to tolerate broken equipment, maintenance delays, and facility issues that seem to have become the norm rather than the exception. Your response actually highlights the problem. You mention having thousands of members, which means Genesis has access to substantial revenue. That makes the persistent state of disrepair even more difficult to understand, not easier. The fact that your defense is essentially "we are big and things take time" is astonishing. As for the spin room, claiming that members are providing "great feedback" is frankly insulting, and either profoundly out of touch or intentionally dishonest. Either management is completely disconnected from member experience, or it is choosing to ignore it. Anyone who regularly uses that room knows exactly how miserable those conditions can be. Members are not blind, and they are not stupid. We know the difference between a problem being fixed and management pretending it has been fixed. What is most frustrating is the complete lack of accountability. Every problem comes with an explanation. Every complaint comes with an excuse. Every concern is met with a canned response explaining why members should lower their expectations and continue paying anyway. At some point, Genesis needs to stop blaming parts shortages, policies, and circumstances, and start taking responsibility for the quality of the product it is selling. The reality is that Genesis charges premium prices while delivering an increasingly substandard experience. It is the closest…read moregym to my house, and the price was good, so I really would've loved to continue my membership but there were just too many issues that interrupted my workouts or were gross (dirty undies hanging in the locker room for two days, anyone?). I've noticed the care of the gym going down during my time there. Machines were broken, spin bike seats were not put on correctly (nor switched out when I alerted them about broken machines), cleaning supplies were consistently empty. There were things that needed repairing in the womens locker rooms that were unattended to for weeks. Overall, I just got sick interrupting the front desk assistants from their gossiping to report issues that they should be fixing instead of spending time chatting.

Apparently they have changed their name to Zone Athletic Club…read more After the state ordered gyms to close due to COVID-19, Tru Fit continued to charge their members monthly dues. They sent an email to their members stating that they will continue to charge these dues, despite the fact that they are closed. They further stated that IF, keyword if, a member would like a refund, they need to submit a request in writing and they will process those requests after the re-open. See attached photo. Absolutely absurd. It is the risk you take, the cost of doing business and being a business owner, to lose money. While nobody could have predicted these state mandated closures, do not screw over your members who are also trying to survive this.
