However, due to Cindy's behavior, i stopped volunteering and visiting entirely. the lounge was once under investigation because of her behavior, and based on my experience, those concerns were valid. Cindy presents herself as compassionate, but she is manipulative, unprofessional, and often cruel. She talks badly about employees to others, slut-shames staff, dismisses sexual harassment, spreads personal and intimate information, and retaliates when employees or volunteers set boundaries. volunteers are guilt-tripped into overworking, and those who say no are treated differently. she also speaks disrespectfully about paying customers and regularly gives unsolicited medical opinions despite not being a doctor. when concerns are brought to her, she deflects blame, refuses accountability, and dismisses criticism. Cindy claims KCL is struggling due to lack of visitors, but the high prices, tense environment, overall mismanagement, and homeless camp in the parking lot may be why. i sent her a detailed message explaining my concerns; her response was dismissive and condescending, and she took no responsibility. the cats, staff, and volunteers deserve far better than this leadership.

We booked private experiences with the baby capybaras and then a separate private session with a couple of the adults -- and it exceeded every expectation. The babies were absolutely adorable, gentle, and so interactive. Getting that up-close time made it feel really special and personal. The adult capybaras were just as amazing. Calm, sweet, and fascinating to observe. The staff took the time to share so much educational information about the animals -- their behavior, care, and personalities -- which made the experience even more meaningful for my kids. It wasn't just cute photo moments (although there were plenty of those!). It was educational, hands-on, and thoughtfully organized. My kids were beyond excited and are still talking about it. If you're looking for something unique, family-friendly, and unforgettable, this is it. We will absolutely be back!
