After parking my car the driver promptly greeted me at the check in desk, I loaded my cases and departed within 10 mins of arrival. Car park spaces were reasonable. I am so frustrated with the whole Purple Parking system. The check in is efficient but then there's a long wait for the shuttle which goes around other terminals dropping off and picking up. This time I missed my flight. I took out insurance in case I was late getting back and I was. But guess what? The insurance doesn't mean you are covered - because it is taken out with a third party apparently. But I took it out with Purple Parking - on the app. But they are now Q park apparently and you can't book directly with them. So to claim my 10 quid I have to prove my delay and fill in a form with all documents attached. There's one born every minute and this time it was me. Me and Purple Parking are so over. read more

Just shocking service yet again. All these people have to do is park a car and have it waiting when you get back. They specifically tell you that you do not need to call ahead and yet they don't seem to monitor the flights or the time. This is the forth time and I am done with this bunch of clowns. Purple Parking is known by so many people and you can see why with the massive parking area they have at Heathrow. The price was way below what I expected - cheaper than I pay at Bristol - and so was pretty much a no-brainer. The parking itself is fairly close distance wise to Heathrow and the directions they provided were excellent even though at times you feel you're going the wrong way as you head down past houses and under/through a low tunnel. On arrival you go through a scanning hut where you pause as they check your vehicle with security cameras. That's reassuring but directly afterwards they advise you to take everything "loose" (as they describe them) out of your car as they cannot prove it was in there. The lady a the desk greets you by name as the scanning hut has vehicle recognition. I still think it's a nice touch however they manage it. You park your car in a drop off section for someone else to park your car (remember the sign about loose items) and then you only have a short walk to your mini bus to take you to the airport. During peak times it can be quite a queue in the shuttle bus to the airport and if like us you headed to terminal 5 then it's a bit of a trek. In fact that's the only thing stopping them getting 5 stars. 30 minutes to the airport is quite a lot on top of your journey. I still think the driver chose a short cut that wasn't much of a short cut but either way if we fly from terminal 5 again we'll probably look around to see if there's anywhere nearer. When we arrived back our car had been moved back to a close location and all our "loose" items were still present and correct. I couldn't fault them apart from the transfer time. read more

Absolutely useless. I have used them twice in the last two weeks and each time had to wait 30 minutes for the airport pickup. There is no contact number, only an automated service. Avoid and rather use the mid term car park. read more

When flying out of London Heathrow, I always use Purple Parking. Their rates are very competitive and the service is great. Secure parking with regular shuttle buses between all the Terminals. I typically don't have to wait very long to catch a bus back to my car afterwards either. read more

I am surprised that this Purple Parking are allowed to advertise that they are 5 minutes from the airport, this is not true. for convenience we like to park near an airport when travelling because it makes it earlier for the return journey. Heathrow airport is not a very long drive for us because we drive from Hertfordshire, on this occasion the advert stated that the car park was 5 minutes from the airport. We drove from Watford which is 30 minute journey, with the expectation that it would be a 5 minute's drive from the airport, this was not the case, we drove pass terminal 2 and 22 minutes we reached our destination which was actually in Southall not Heathrow. We than had to wait another 12 minutes before we were transported to the airport, we were told that on our return journey we needed to call Purple Parking when we landed otherwise they would not send anyone to pick us up. Upon arrival we called, we pick up our luggage and went to pick up point 17 and there was no driver waiting, we called again and was told the driver was waiting totally lies, we explained that the driver could not be waiting because we were at pick up point 17 and there was no driver there, we were then told the driver left and another car would be sent and it should take 10 minutes, we waited 10 minutes had to call again, we waited in the cold for another 25 minutes before anyone arrived. On the way back to the car park I timed the journey and it took 16 minutes to get to the car at 11.30pm and the driver was driving fast. If you are driving from a long distance this car park might be suitable for you, however, if your journey is short like mine and you are looking for convenience only, do not book this car park it is in Southall. On top of all this the service here is very poor. They should not be able to advertise this car park as being 5 minutes from the airport, it is wrong. read more

This company is running a great business, but it could be tweaked and improved further. The staff could also answer the phone more politely and they could employ drivers with a sense of urgency. On the last collection from Terminal 3, the driver wasted about 10 minutes by trying to get the bar code scanner to recognise some of the tickets. He was incapable of problem solving under pressure and this annoyed the passengers who were telling him to do it back at the office. An improvement is needed. Also, they ask you to call the office when you land, they take your reference, then the driver wants to see your ticket which he takes from you and keeps. At that point, you have no proof of anything after he has taken it and he has not given you your car keys in return. The exchange should always be simultaneous. The company will probably have an explanation for this, but the current procedure does not feel right. They should also rebrand the Vans as the colour looks more like pink parking than purple and consider new transportation with seating for adults. The vans are more like a school bus with narrow seats. read more

I would not recommend or use Purple Parking meet and greet service. We used the heathrow service and when we landed our car was not ready for us when it did turn up a little while later it had a nice big dent in the side of the door. When the driver was asked what happened we got a shrug of the shoulders, he finally admitted to another attendant there that he hit our car. When we spoke to purple parking customer services they would still not admit liability until they had checked their cctv cameras to check for damage when the car entered their parking facilities. They finally agreed it was their fault but still said they didn't know how it happened. We then had to find 2 quotes to get our car repaired in our time and own cost for travelling to these places, not once have purple parking offered any form of compensation ie not having to pay for the parking. We was also told by our insurance company that as our baby car seat was in the car on the side of the impact that they should be replaced, we forwarded this info to purple parking along with documentation from ROSPA advising the car seat should be replaced, of which purple parking will not replace because as per their letter "I would advise that the child seat was clearly unoccupied at the time of the incident. The damage sustained to your vehicle would suggest that there has been no head on impact and therefore, the structure of your vehicle in this area has not been unduly compromised" Also to top it off we reset our tripometer when we dropped the car off and the car showed 80 miles had been driven???, all the parking sensors had been turned off which is probably why the accident happened. Not once have we had an apology from purple parking for the upset, stress and inconvenience any of this caused, of which we had to pay £150 for this service. read more

Been using PP now for many years. Service to and from Heathrow is slick; however the Gatwick experience is not so good. It has a congested queuing area to drop off and pick up your keys, plus it has very poor acoustics so is very noisy and it is difficult to hear verbal instructions where to find your car. Waiting time for your pick up at Gatwick is a lottery as you do not phone to say you are there and rely on not having just missed one of the shuttles! Still reliable though and a good price! read more

Returned from 6 weeks abroad and collected car at 0530 in the dark. I should have checked more thoroughly then (according to the small print) but we were bitterly cold and tired, threw our cases into the boot and drove off as we were late for our crossing to France. Something immediately looked strange, as the heating had been turned to 28c and the fans were blowing on full. As we arrived in France and searched for the map all became clear. The back seat was extremely wet, and the floor in the back running in liquid (we presume water) - two maps left on the back floor were ruined and had to be thrown away. Clearly someone knew the back of the car had been soaked and was trying to cover it up with the heater though we did not realise this when we collected the car. We also found that the car had been used by this company while we had been away. We complained about this when we wrote and they confirmed the mileage at the point of return. This was 85 miles more than our mileage noted when we handed the car in. As we did not spot and report these problems at the instant we collected the car the company will not consider our complaint. You have been warned - this is not a company to trust with your car. read more
