I had actually postponed my recent yearly eye appointment with this Covid but was having trouble in…read moreone of my eyes and knew I needed to be seen. Making the appointment was very easy since the office personnel are so helpful in assisting. We went over some of the Covid related questions and I was instructed what to do when I arrived for my appointment . Inside the lobby there were hand sanitizers even before I walked in the office and my temperature was taken upon entering. The chairs in the waiting room were sparse and spread out far enough. No one was actually waiting inside except for the patients that I could tell. That was appreciated. I see Dr. Lauf and before that I saw Mandy and she was very professional, and I felt safe. The room appeared very sanitized. Dr. Lauf is always a listener and I trust his advice and directions explicitly. I will go back for a follow up and I thank these Physicians, Technicians and Office Personnel for their dedication all the time but especially in these unknown times. I feel very confident in this office setting.

He is now almost a teenager and ready for contacts . She has made the transition seamless for us. I couldn't ask for a better person to oversee the care of my son's precious eyesight. She is professional, caring, and really goes the extra mile for her patients. We actually followed her from the practice she was with before, to this one, and would gladly do so again. Her staff have been nothing short of wonderful every time Ive had the pleasure of speaking/working with them. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Modern Heritage Eye Care, you won't be disappointed. Would like to make note, we drive almost an hour to get there and purposely pass a half dozen other eye care places just to get to Modern Heritage.....it's MORE than worth the drive.

Having moved back to Ohio from Chicago, I was in need of an eye exam and possibly new glasses (had…read morelasik 13 years ago - so just readers for eye fatigue). First, there is an online intake form, no problem! Except I tried to do it from my laptop (as instructed, they say it will not work on your phone), took the 15 minutes to input everything and then the Submit button did not work. Tried again (another 15 minutes) and same thing! I gave up after that. Bad technology! Arrived 5 minutes early to my 8:30 am apt. There was 3 girls working the front office. I checked in, explained how the form online didn't work to press submit, so filled out the rest of the forms there. 8:45 passes. 9 am passes. 9:15 passes. I was told to "spend some time picking out my frames" to pass the time - which I would have gladly done except for the 90 pairs they have showcased were not attractive or the style I was looking for. Plus, these are part-time glasses - I don't need to spend $500 on a pair of frames just for when I get online to type Yelp reviews! FINALLY at 9:30 I was greeted by the OD. By the way, I witnessed only a small child who was having her glasses fitted and one man who finally exited the exam room. Having to wait an additional 20 minutes for the old school glaucoma eye dilation screening...I was fuming. The exam was fine by Perrysburg standards, and she charged my insurance $200 for mediocre technology, 1.5 hours of my day, awful selection of frames. Having moved back from Chicago - where my exam was $125, and new technology for glaucoma screening is completed in 30 seconds with an eye MRI (I'm not the sales rep, I have no idea what the technology is called...) machine that depicted to the doctor and myself the exact anatomy at that moment of time of my eye. Would not return, nor recommend.

Been coming here for a couple years now. First time was in search for a specialty place to get an…read moreissue I'd been having diagnosed. After getting myself through a few therapy sessions, I decided to stick with them. I had initially gotten a pair of new glasses from a place in Sylvania. It had been more than a few years since I'd gotten a new pair and my sights were starting to bug me slightly. The prescription had changed, and naturally I decided to get a new pair of lenses for my glasses. I can't conclude that the issues was related to the new glasses or not, but my problem happened to start after I started using the new pair. My job requires me to sit in front of a computer all day and do a lot of reading on-screen. My eyes are extraordinarily dry that not only I can't wear contact lenses, but most of the time I'm not even wearing my regular glasses while I'm working. One day I noticed I was getting nauseous, light-headed and sweating, similar to symptoms of motion-sickness. It got so bad I had to stay home for a few days. Initially I thought I might be getting a bug of some sort, but it went away within a day or two. At the same time, my eyes were starting to tire and dry out very quickly. That's when I decided to see if it was related to my eyes, and when I found MCfE. I'm not gonna lie. One major factor for picking them was that it was super close to my house. As you can see, there were not much info on them out there for me to refer to, so it was a risk for me at the time. But I was pleasantly surprised when I visited them first though. After hearing my symptoms, doc Bower put me through a series of tests that seemed unusually thorough compared to other eye exams. At the end of the day, she told me I had what's called a "Convergence Insufficiency," where my two eyes weren't working well together to focus, creating motion-sickness-like symptoms. I had since been going through continuous self therapy at home to train my eyes to work better together, and definitely have been seeing improvements. They also recommended that I get progressive lenses at the time and I did so to improve my eyesight. I also have bought another pair of glasses from them recently. My personal experience has been nothing but good. But if I'm being honest, I can't say the same about my wife's experience. Her eyesight was slowly getting worse throughout the years since her LASIK 10+ years ago, and she was having some night vision issues. So I told her about my good experience at MCfE, especially doc Bower, and told her to get herself checked out. Long story short, they couldn't really help her with the problem she was having, but seemingly brushed her off as having dry-eye problems. She ended up spending $300 on a pair of new glasses that made no difference with her issues, and since then had to convert them into a pair of sunglasses just to not have wasted the money. Since then, she went to a different optometry back in L.A. and got another pair that works for her. I'm not an optometrist so I couldn't tell you what went wrong, but at the end, MCfE wasn't able to fix her problem. The way I look at it is that everyone's good at something but not necessarily good at something else. If my wife was the one giving the review, I'm not sure they would get 4+ stars, but since I'm basing my review on all of my past experiences *plus* my wife's, I'm still giving them 4 stars. Had they been better with handling my wife's situation, even if they couldn't necessarily "fix" her issue, I could have easily given them 5 stars. But the fact that they were more focused on why they couldn't return or rework her lenses costed them a star for me. Overall, I think their quality of services is great, and I haven't seen or experienced anything personally to say otherwise. So for now, I'd recommend them to anyone who's in need of eye care.
