But in recent years as I've had trouble adjusting to some of my new prescriptions, I decided to go back to buying in store, as they are able to provide more fitting service and check the exact location of your eyes relative to the glasses frames. This was my first time buying glasses from Eyeglasses World. The time before that it was from the office of my old eye doctor, and before that I bought glasses online. I didn't like buying glasses from the eye doctor's office, it felt like a conflict of interest. The way my old eye doctor was pushing the glasses sales was enought that I wanted to find a new eye doctor, one who didn't sell glasses on site. I hadn't gotten new glasses in over 2 years. I had been putting it off partly because the last few times I got new glasses it was hard for me to adjust. But I was having headaches that I think were partly due to vision issues but mostly due to long covid (which I've now recovered from, Phew). After I realized that the headaches might be due to vision issues and not just long covid, I waited a few weeks for an appointment with a new eye doctor (one who doesn't sell glasses!). By the time I got my prescription, I wanted new glasses fast. I was really happy to learn that Eyeglasses World could take my order in the evening and have my glasses ready the next business day. I shopped around at a few glasses places in town, including Lenscrafters, Target Optical, and Stanton Optical. Only Eyeglass World and Lenscrafters were able to fill my prescription same or next day. Lenscrafters was waaaaay more expensive and didn't have any styles that I liked anyway. Eyeglass World was maybe half the price of Lenscrafters. Still about double what I was used to paying online, but worth the price for the quality of service and the ability to try on the glasses in person. This is taking into account that Eyeglass World had a buy one get one free deal. But I wanted two pairs anyway so as to have a backup pair. The service at Eyeglass World was just right. They made it clear that they were available to help me but were not pushy and let me take my time trying on many different glasses. I left, shopped the other places, and came back to Eyeglass World a couple days later. Shopped their selection more, and finally picked out a few favorites. The salesperson who helped me turned out to be the manager of the whole store and also a licensed optician. She helped to advise me which of the frames I picked out would fit best. She noted that due to my prescription, some frames that felt a bit tight would stretch out with the lenses, and she was right. She did an expert job of fitting me. I got the new glasses a couple days later. And best of all -- I adjusted to my new prescription in just a couple days, and my headaches diminished. I love the fit, fashion, and vision quality of my new glasses and would plan to return to Glasses World the next time I get a new glasses prescription.

Franklin Park Vision

Extremely Disappointed -I had a truly frustrating and costly experience with Franklin Park Vision…read morethat I feel obligated to share. In December 2024, I ordered two pairs of glasses from them--one regular and one prescription sunglasses. From day one, the regular glasses gave me blurry vision in my right eye. Strangely, the sunglasses--using the same prescription--were crystal clear. When I brought this up, I was told "it's because they're sunglasses," which made absolutely no sense. Franklin Park insisted I get a second eye exam before they'd redo the lenses. I returned to my original optometrist at Costco, and the prescription was "virtually" unchanged. Franklin Park remade the lenses. Unfortunately, the second pair still didn't work. I couldn't see properly out of the right lens and wearing them made me dizzy. I gave up and went back to my old glasses just to function. Eventually, I returned to Costco and explained everything. They tested the Franklin Park lenses and confirmed that the right lens was defective. Rather than spend another $439 at Franklin Park to try a third time, I had Costco replace the lenses in the same frames for just $187.99. In two weeks, I had glasses that worked perfectly. I returned the defective lenses to Franklin Park on March 26, 2025, and requested a refund. What followed was months of delay and avoidance. They sent the lenses back to Shamir--the very manufacturer that made them--for "analysis." Not surprisingly, Shamir said their own lenses were fine. Franklin Park then denied my refund based on that non-independent review and even suggested I ask Costco for compensation--despite the fact that Costco fixed the problem Franklin Park couldn't. Adding insult to injury, Franklin Park dragged this process out beyond 120 days, conveniently past the window in which I could dispute the charge with my American Express card. It felt like a stall tactic to avoid accountability. I spent over $700 trying to get a working pair of glasses, and Franklin Park Vision failed me--twice. The service was dismissive, the follow-through poor, and the outcome unacceptable. I would never recommend this office to anyone, and I'm disappointed that a business would treat a patient this way.

Spouse and I have both purchased glasses from FPV in past 60 days and was impressed with their knowledgeable and attentive staff. Inept. The doctor I…read moredealt with there was ok, but the entire staff beyond him was worthless. From scheduling appointments and billing me, to performing tests, and fitting glasses, the women were terrible at their jobs and for the most not pleasant to deal with. A woman gave me a test, during which I questioned her doing something a certain way. She told me she was doing it right and continued. When the doctor later commented on the odd results he was seeing, I mentioned my concern and guess what, never having even know of this type of test or the apparatus involved, I knew more about how to do it than the technician assigned to operate it did. The doctor did reprimand her about it, but still. I came in to them explaining how the prior place had messed up the focal points of my lens for my last pair of glasses, and sure enough, they did the same thing. They had taken "pictures" in doing a certain test. On getting my eyes examined the next time (somewhere else), I called to get these "pictures" for the doctor to compare. They not only didn't give me the pictures, but told me I had never had any sort of such a test done, so the pictures didn't exist. A flat out blatant lie. I just don't know if it was ineptitude or to cover up their having lost them. If it weren't for this being something a bit serious, it would be laughable how terrible a place this is.
