This is a parent coached league where the coaches (usually parents) choose when and where to practice. There is a large mix of skill levels, and unlike other rec leagues, most teams stay together year after year making the disparity between new players and more seasoned ones greater. I usually recommend this as a second step league after YMCA or FFPS. Unlike the other reviewer, I wouldn't drop my son off and leave unless I absolutely had to. Then only after I knew on a personal level someone who was staying. Be smart. The league seems less organized than FFPS, but again the competitiveness is slightly higher. I usually recommend this league for those that find YMCA and FFPS "too easy" for their child. If you have the means however, putting children in one of the numerous clubs is best as they would receive a more structured and higher quality training program. For the Katy Area, I recommend the Dynamo Dash Youth Academy, but others include Albion, KSA-14, Tukas, and Katy Premier.

Nowhere in their store or on their website does it say absolutely no refunds or exchanges, nor did they state that when I was checking out. Now I am out of money, out of luck, and have no cleats. BE VERY WARY BEFORE PURCHASING FROM THIS STORE.

This is more like a organized pickup game on saturday afternoon. Parents cant instruct from the sidelines, only encourage. Focus is on kids having safe fun, no formal scoring or playoffs, everyone gets recognized for a good job. Honestly, I wasn't sure what I would think, but overall Im very pleased and so is my non-competitive, easy going daughter. Quality full uniforms are provided, there are tons of resources, well structured leadership, training, background checks and an emphasis on making sure the players have a great time.

And then they make their *unpaid* district coordinators guilt trip the parents on the teams that don't have coaches - to be the coaches. Then you show up for "coach training". But in reality, they are using you for physical labor to paint the fields so they don't have to pay someone to do it (note this theme) Then you have "the real" coach training which is hours long, 500 pages of paperwork, and in reality should be 20 minutes and 2 pages max + rotation sheets. Then you have another "coach training" and you are threatened to not get uniforms if you don't come. But in reality it is the same as the first one. Instead of ordering based on each kid's size, they guess what sizes and just throw a bunch of smalls, a few mediums, and one or two large for your team. And tell you to line them up by height and give them the uniforms that way. As for games - the fields are dangerous. They have holes in them, ant piles everywhere, and the lines painted on are faded. The goals are falling apart - which is weird because their expense sheet states that they do field maintenance every year LOL One year they scheduled all the 5 year old games at 10:30 and 12 - when no one was using the fields at 9. Why would you do that in the middle summer? It makes no sense. But that is how everything is in FFPS. You will be micromanaged and told you have to coach exactly the way they say. You cannot hold the rotation sheet - because you may be unfair! And don't forget - if you don't get a team sponsor, you have to pay another $45 on top of the $200 you already paid. But why do you need a sponsor when you already paid $200? What is it paying for? - all the coaches are free - the field labor is free - the district coordinators are not paid -the fields are not maintained So where does all the money go? Is it the 500 sheets of papers? Or someone's pockets? Hmmmmmm.... PS... grand parkway location only exists because of Matt the district coordinator. And I quit after I personally witnessed the managers of FFPS screaming at him on the field in front of kids.

I have been to two locations and my kids are happier here. The vibe in general feels like a family. It's chill, energetic, fun and engaging. True that it is smaller than the other location but it really doesn't matter to me since mainly I spent my time just sitting at somewhere doing nothing. As long as my kids are happy and love spending time here as much as I do. It's 5/5. Vibe check.
