DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!! THEY WILL PURPOSELY SHARPEN YOUR SKATES YOU CHOOSE TO PURCHASE SO YOU CAN'T RETURN THEM... EVEN THOUGH IT DOESN'T STATE ANYWHERE IN THEIR RETURN POLICY THAT YOUR UNUSED SHARPEN SKATES ARE NOT RETURNABLE AND YOU WILL ONLY GET STORE CREDIT... IF YOUR LUCKY!! I NOW GET TO ENJOY $500 ON A GIFT CARD THAT I WILL NEVER USED DUE TO THE FACT IM MOVING BACK TO TEXAS.... SO NO REFUND ISSUED AND THEY STILL GET TO KEEP MY MONEY!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! I purchase skates when I moved back up here from Texas in the beginning of the year. The type of person I am I like to purchase quality Items that last me a long-time vs purchasing a cheaper item that isn't going to last me.. Well, I never got a chance to use the skates.. So, I recently called customer service line at 866-787-3462 to see if it was going to be an issue returning $500 skates I never used. They stated no that would not be an issue, you will get a full refund. I then called back and asked if I no longer have that debit card, is it going to be an issue getting a refund if I got a new debit card but same account... They then stated no, it will go back to the same account. Perfect I said. Well... I go to the store and the gentleman states he won't be able to do anything besides put the money on a store credit because the skates had been sharpened.... I said yes, you guys sharpened them.. (Which I never was even asked, they just did..). Apparently because they were sharpened, I can only get store credit and keep in mind I never used them... The guy at the store seemed to be in a bad mood and didn't even want to help me... He said call customer service if they told you that you could get a full refund on unused skates that were sharpened, and they can do a "blind transfer" from the gift card to your debit card... I said ok... I call customer service and they stated that they have no idea what a "blind transfer" is and that they can't help me. BELOW IS THE RETURN GUIDELINES..... WAS THE ITEM IN THE ORIGINAL PACKAGING? YES DID THE ITEM SHOW SCUFFS, STAINS, DIRT OR OTHER MARKS THAT WOULD INDICATE USE? NO STILL IN THE SAME CONDITION IN WHICH IT WAS PURCHASED? YES!!! THE EXACT SAME CONDITION OF WHEN I STEP FOOT OUT OF THE STORE!!!! Return Guidelines: * Unused Items * Unused items have an unlimited returns window. For a product to be considered unused, it must: * Be in its original packaging * Show no scuffs, stains, dirt, or other marks that would indicate use * Still be in the same condition in which it was purchased * Custom merchandise of any kind cannot be returned. NO WHERE IN YOUR RETURN GUIDELINES DOES IT STATE IF THE STORE SHARPENS YOUR SCATES, THEY ARE NO LONGER VAILD FOR A RETURN..... I NEED SOME ANSWERS BECAUSE YOUR SUPERVISOR CLEARLY DIDN'T CARE TO HELP ASSIST ME AND JUST WANTED TO GO BACK AND FORTH.... All I want is my funds refunded... Clearly, I won't be able to use a $500 gift card to pure hockey in Texas for any reasons which I'm moving back to... I'm receiving conflicting information and its very clear that I fall directly under the return guidelines. I don't want to take this any further than it needs to go... Staff was helpful. Store was clean and socially distanced. Masks required. Very popular place to have skates cleaned. We had to drop our two pairs and return two hours later for pick up. read more

The place is great. I've shopped here a ton and almost always had great customer service.

I've been very pleased with my experience at this store. I haven't had a bad sharpening here, and the goalie guru (Kevin?*) has been fantastic. I went in once to try on leg pads, and even though I told him that I absolutely wasn't going to be buying anything that day, he spent a good 30 minutes with me. Other employees have also been very helpful with one exception. The exception: on two separate occasions the same employee has given me inaccurate information. Both times I was looking at some dirt cheap entry level catching gloves. Both times this guy has come up and told me that it's an incredible deal on top of the line gear. Now if you know anything about goalie gear, you know that there's a HUGE difference between a $150 entry level glove on a clearance rack and a $450 top of the line glove. I don't know if he was intentionally BSing or just clueless. I'd be really angry if I bought a piece of crap thinking it was a steal because a salesman lied or made things up. (*Edit: His name is Justin, and he's incredibly helpful! Sorry, Justin.) ______________________________________________________________________________ Edit: I'm knocking off two stars. I had two experiences at this store in the last few months that I was living in Madison that really soured me on the place. 1) I had them install a new pair of cowlings on my skates and they did a lousy job. There were two issues: 1) One of the cowlings was clearly pinched too tight. When I pointed this out, they referred to the fact that it was under warranty instead of trying to make it right. 2) A rivet in the other skate wasn't installed correctly. It sticks up a good quarter of an inch. This was a really, really obvious problem, and I'm deeply annoyed that they didn't get it right. 2) I purchased a very pricy pair of knee guards. One of them burst a seam just a few months after I bought it, but fortunately it was under warranty from the company. I brought this to their attention and waited for a replacement. And waited. And waited. Months went by and nothing was happening. The manager assured me that they would get me a replacement as soon as possible. I assumed that the manufacturer was completely out of stock and that they were making their best efforts to secure the replacement. They weren't. I ended up moving to Pennsylvania and going into another Hockey Giant where I saw those exact same knee guards on display. Ultimately, the Madison store was able to transfer my credit, so I finally got the replacements that I'd waited so long for. It really pissed me off, though, that these knee guards existed in their system and that they didn't figure out a way to get me some in a timely manner. read more

Cool place to find your hockey gear, not so much of you are looking for apparel. Looks like most of their merchandise is Bauer, although there are some other brands mixed in. If you play the game this is definitely the place to come. If you are just looking for a team jersey, not so much. read more

Unfortunately we do not live close enough to this store to make it our only hockey stop but we did stop there on the way home from a Tournament. We purchased a dryer from them that worked until a piece melted on the 4th use. I have been working with Justin the manager over the phone and via email. He is amazing! I am also so pleased with the fast and pleasant response we receive when we call! We will be back when the opportunity arises! read more
