Love the classes Pure Barre offers. The times classes are offered vary and I can always find one to fit my schedule. The classes are modified often so the workouts stay fun and challenging. The instructors and music are motivating!

They recommend doing the class barefoot, but I was more comfortable keeping my socks on. Beautiful space. Although I didn't join, I would recommend if you are looking for some regular fitness. Fast forward three years and I have taken 114 classes at this location. B3 is amazing and this location is part of my life primarily because of the staff. Mariel is of course terrific, but she doesn't hire just anyone. And, all instructors must first attend a training in Oregon (where the company was founded). While each instructor has certain strengths, they are all great and committed to your individual success while simultaneously making the whole group working out feel like everyone matters. I am one of very few men at this location, but in this day and age I am actually more comfortable being in such a female-oriented space. This location is not for "bros," toxicity, or ego. It is supportive and beautiful, but still makes you feel stronger and ALWAYS better off than when you started.

I gave it 4 stars only because I like a bit more direction in my Pilates class, and although Jill was amazing and sweet, I love when an instructor is kind and encouraging but also provides corrections. I am also a fan of music during my workout classes but if you like more peace and quiet, Jill's class will be up your alley. Despite those two minor things, I am still very interested in going back!

The only downside is that the classes are not available at the most convenient times. After my Groupon expires I will most likely not go back for that reason alone. These classes can be a bit pricey...the money is not the issue, just the availability. There should be a class around 6 or 7PM for the afterwork crowd. They could be making a lot more connections! The gym, like "The Chalet" before it, was one that I had appreciated going to and would have left a positive review for had it not been for getting a burn from their steam room and being dismissed and treated poorly by the manager (Leo) on behalf of the owners.

This place rocks. And not in a "good enough for suburbia" kind of way, in a "would thrive in…read moredowntown Chicago" kind of way. The workouts are hard, very well designed, and mentally stimulating/fun. I found the studio on ClassPass and checked it out when my Shred415 classes had been used up for the month (on CP you can only go to three classes per studio per month). I have now been to three classes and they have all been excellent and very different. The classes usually involve some kind of circuit with both strength and cardio, and the place has an enormous variety of equipment so everything gets switched up. In addition to regular weights, kettlebells, bands, and lifting equipment, they also have: - Jacobs ladder - Woodway manual treadmill - Manual mode treadmill with a football pad - Ropes - Tires - Ab rollers - Bosus - TRX - Rings - Inflatable pads for instability exercises - Those terrible goddamn sleds you have to push around - Elliptical - Regular treads - Bikes - Tons of other stuff I haven't used in class yet The other thing I like about these classes is that they seem to be influenced by lots of different kinds of fitness, which means there is a lot more variety in the classes. For example, the other day we did a circuit using the ropes, jacobs ladder, and other "hard core" type movements, but then the end of the class involved a lot of Jane Fonda type leg work. In another class I took, it was 100% strength and weight training, which is a cool and unusual option in group fitness. The actual location is in a sort of half storefront, half garage location, with green turf and a track for the sleds. It's not fancy but is spacious and has a "playground" type feel. They also have a hodge podge of cheesy inspirational quotes all over the walls, which makes the place feel local. They also make sure to know and remember your name - both the friendly front desk guy and the trainers. I'm actually considering buying more classes here in addition to ClassPass because I like the workouts and the trainers so much that I want to go more than the 3X/month through ClassPass. I've been to most kinds of fitness classes - Orange Theory, SoulCycle, Flywheel, Barry's Bootcamp/Shred415, barre, pilates, yoga, CrossFit, etc., so when I say that this is a great class, I mean this is a great class by anyone's standards. Great find!

Plus the facts were incorrect. It's been a policy change ..... I still have not been contacted. The whirl pool had to be repaired in late january. Yes, it's up again, however when it went down after scheduled down time, we went to use it and it remained down, or went down. This needs to be an automatic note to us.
