    Awaiting Class!
    Samantha H.

After hearing about Pure Barre from one of my clients I decided to check them out online. I did some research and decided to commit to a 3 month "early bird" pass. That means I can attend the first or second class Monday-Friday and the first class Saturday + Sunday. This pass worked great for my work schedule and allowed me to save some $. From my very first class I was greeted with open arms and a smile from Daron. She has been so helpful and motivating! As a newly to Barre it's taken me a few classes to get the hang of some moves but it's been fun! Every class I attend I feel challenged to embrace the shake and put forth my best effort. The hardest part for me is embracing the shake that happens, but trust me it feels sooooo good after you stretch! Thank you ladies for giving me a place to feel pushed and beautiful.

A teacher from the studio, Daron, was there so clients were able to watch her during class if they felt lost.

I first did a class back in February and joined with an unlimited membership in March (healthcare…read moreemployees we get a discount!) and it has been well worth it! The studio is very inclusive and incredibly welcoming from the staff to the other students. As someone who is plus sized, has hyper-mobility, and felt intimidated by exercise (and honestly hated it before I discovered Barre as a whole), this has been an amazing workout with a variety of classes (love the cardio, mindful flow, and signature classes the most!) that are fun, keep my interest, and have a really good schedule that has worked well for me. The live streams they have are incredibly helpful for when I can't get into the studio, but still want to get a workout in at home. For those with kiddos, they offer some childcare for during classes Monday through Friday too. The studio space itself has two showers available, though I have not used them myself, and has always been very tidy and bright. Currently, I am 60 classes in and I have had classes with several instructors and they have all been amazing: Emily (cardio, strength, and signature) Lori (strength signature, and mindful flow}, Jennifer (signature), Ashley for (signature and mindful flow), and Suzie (strength and signature) are the instructors who I have had the most classes with, but I have had classes with Marcella (strength, mindful flow, and signature), Holly (strength and signature), Heather (signature), Genny (signature), Lynne (signature) and Alison (signature). The classes are fun, great workouts and modifications are always given which is beyond helpful. I feel like you can't go wrong with any of the instructors. Those running the front desk are also awesome, and incredibly friendly!

I have been doing barre3…read morefor 11 years and have tried several studios and there is something special about the Camas studio. While all barre3 classes are phenomenal workouts, the team at the Camas studio makes the classes a notch above everyone else. Each instructor is so knowledgeable about the reasons behind the postures and what muscle groups they target but they also are able to offer several modifications depending on how individual bodies may react. The team also really makes the studio feel like a community. I don't feel like I'm just going to the gym, I feel like I'm going to work out with friends. Tiffany has really built something special at barre3 Camas and I will definitely be a lifelong member of the community.

Buyer beware. When…read moremy schedule changed and I attempted to cancel my membership, I was informed that I would be charged for an additional full month regardless of whether I used the classes. What turned a routine cancellation into a negative experience was not the existence of policies, but the way the situation was handled. Communication was delayed, dismissive, and unhelpful, and reasonable questions about options or accommodations were repeatedly met with deflection rather than engagement. The studio owner's public response to this review further illustrates the issue. Instead of addressing concerns about communication and professionalism, it speculates about my motives, references my class bookings, and characterizes me as attempting to "take advantage" of a promotion. That framing is inaccurate and unnecessary. I was willing to adhere to the terms of the agreement and downgraded my membership in good faith when my schedule changed. The issue was never avoiding obligations -- it was the lack of respectful, straightforward communication. Publicly calling out individual customers by name and assigning intent, rather than resolving matters privately and professionally, is concerning. This experience felt far removed from the community-focused, supportive environment the brand promotes and instead reflected rigid enforcement paired with poor customer care. Prospective members should read cancellation and downgrade terms very carefully and consider how issues are handled if circumstances change.

I'm not really sure where to begin regarding my experience with this location and the front desk…read morereceptionist. I am extremely active and have been working out regularly my entire life. I currently belong to orange theory and in the last I have done CrossFit, yoga, kickboxing, HIIT, TRX classes and more. I used to belong to barre3 in Salmon Creek as well. I'm not new to fitness world and am very familiarized with how it works. I have a 6 month old baby at home and am able to run out the door for a workout class a few times a week when my husband gets home. Today, I was looking forward to trying Pure Barre as the location is close to our house and I anticipated enjoying it enough to exclusively sign up with them. I walked in at 5:25pm, immediately the energy coming from the front desk receptionist (didn't catch her name but she was an Asian woman) was super snarky and pretentious. She was very unprofessional, unwelcoming and rude. She immediately started pressing in to me that I was late. Even though class didn't start for another 5 minutes. Excuse me? What? Apparently if I am not 10 minutes EARLY then I am .... Late. In all of my 32 years on this planet, never have I heard of being late if you aren't 10 minutes EARLY. I'm still scratching my head on that one. She starts going on about a late fee and telling me she knows nothing about me and my history or if I have injuries. Again, what?! I don't have injuries that are current or could be considered problematic and If I did, I would have informed you far in advance before deciding to show up to class. She then told me that I could not join class if I don't have special "sticky" socks. So I am new to Pure Barre but have taken two other types of Barre classes in the past and have never been required to purchase a special kind of sock. Even still, that's fine. All good and fine, that's the issue. The issue was her tone, her attitude, her delivery. I have never felt so unwanted at a place in my entire life. I'm still just sitting her in shock about the way I was treated . I run two very successful business' and not in a million years would I make a client feel the way that this woman has made me feel. I would never speak to someone in such a disrespectful manner and I certainly wouldn't start threatening someone with late fees when they are 5 minutes early versus 10. I was in such utter disbelief that I could hardly explain to this woman that all of this felt very cold and unwelcoming. I had no problem buying the sticky socks but she could have kindly expressed that this type of barre requires them. To whoever owns this franchise, I would HIGHLY encourage you to look in to the staff running your office. You just lost a potential long term member because of your receptionist and her lack of professionalism. Anyone looking to find a new studio or regimen, do yourself a a favor and go anywhere but here! I can vouch personally for orange theory fitness, the TRX Results gym across the street, Barre3, Burntown Fitness on 192nd is fabulous. Seriously, anywhere but here.
