It's been a month I joined pure barre, park ridge. I am glad I took unlimited membership. The classes are great. Instructors are amazing. Hope to get stronger and better soon ;)

Motivating post it on my Fall Fit Challenge board!

For the class, we used a small red ball, weights, and a double tube.

What can I say about Club Pilates other than "I love it!"…read more After having my third child, I lost a lot of strength in my core and developed issues with my lower back. I was introduced to Pilates through physical therapy and quickly found that I loved it more than any other type of exercise I had tried before. So when I heard Club Pilates Glenview was opening (two years ago), I quickly signed up. The class sizes are small due in part to there being only 12 reformers, the front staff greet you by name when you enter and the instructors are helpful in modifying exercises due to injuries if needed. It's nothing like a big box gym. I get a full body workout in less than an hour using primarily the Pilates Reformer, but also the TRX, springboard, and incorporating barre and mat exercises as well, all while staying in my little area that is 6' away from the next person. As far as COVID safety is concerned, wearing a mask during class is mandatory and perfectly comfortable while working out thanks in part to the large ceiling fans that help keep the air circulating. Also, after every class (even before COVID) the instructor gives out plenty of sanitizing wipes to wipe off everything that was used at your station. I'm not familiar with the morning or afternoon instructors because the evening classes are where the party's at. Monday-Thursday, Mary Ellen and Mark are my escape from kids, life and all the stress that come from both. I don't normally do weekend classes but if either one of them are on the schedule I try to be there also. Did I mention I have three children...lol. During those 50 minutes I'm focusing on nothing but getting stronger, all while jamming out to various playlists they've created. I can't decide if I like disco or 80's more...I try to go 4 to 5 times a week because I miss it if I don't and I'm so much stronger now because of it.

I had an extremely frustrating experience at this Club Pilates location. I booked my class through…read moreClassPass several days in advance and received a confirmation. Then, Club Pilates canceled my reservation only about an hour before class. I didn't see the email because I was already getting ready and on my way to the studio, so I arrived expecting to take the class. When I got there, I was told I wasn't on the roster by who I believe was the instructor, Kelly Moore, who was also working the front desk. What made the experience even worse was her attitude. Instead of trying to understand what happened or help find a solution, she repeatedly asked whether I was at the correct location in a condescending tone, even after I showed her my ClassPass confirmation multiple times clearly displaying the correct studio, date, and time. Rather than acknowledging that Club Pilates had canceled my reservation, she made me feel as though I had somehow made the mistake. It truly seemed like she canceled my reservation on purpose to make space for others. Not once did anyone apologize for the inconvenience or take responsibility for the last-minute cancellation. I wasted my time driving to the studio only to be turned away because of an issue that was completely outside of my control. If you partner with ClassPass (which is a choice btw), you need a reliable reservation system and staff who know how to handle these situations professionally. Canceling a reservation only an hour before class with virtually no notice, then making the customer feel like they're at fault, is unacceptable.
