The evening Kids Club girls truly enjoy watching children. It is not just a job to them. They play with the kids and listen to them. They are absolutely amazing and have become family to me. If it wasn't for them taking care of my babies, I wouldn't have lost 30lbs in 4 months and be able to achieve my fitness goals. This is definitely a family environment. The only thing that could be improved upon at all at MAC is the management/workers for the Kids Club morning crew. Both times I took my children there in the morning, there were issues and I didn't get the welcoming vibe we get with the evening crew. I don't know what the cleaning person is doing there all day but it's not cleaning. Please clean the bathrooms and shampoo the carpets in the dressing room area. I can feel sticky buildup grime on my feet when I'm changing. I have learned to clean my own machines when working out. No-one is going to do that for you especially the cleaning staff. Plenty of work out machines and so far the staff has responded to concerns I have had in the past. Please do something about the uncleanliness of the bathroom and dressing areas. This is a health issue.

One of the teachers lost her temper and scolded my daughter when her hair came out of her hair band. When my daughter tried to explain, she was told she was being disrespectful and forced to apologize in front of the entire class. My daughter was humiliated. After three weeks, she was so discouraged that she refused to go back. Also, be careful about their refund policy, I cancelled classes on September 25th, but they still billed me for October. When I complained, they refused to give a refund. I ended up paying over $600 for three weeks of classes. It was a really bad experience.

*Parents with children with special needs - PLEASE READ!…read more My son was diagnosed with ADHD/Autism two weeks before I registered for camp at the Tuckahoe YMCA. He's very high functioning and has been in the school setting since pre-k. I let them know prior to registering about his IEP plan and some accommodations we have in place. They made it seem like everything was okay! June 2nd was the first day of camp. Why did they politely kick my child out the program? First we talked about doing half days because it was a new environment but when I went to pick him up they basically said let's go ahead & issue a refund! I'm so frustrated but also understand all of the children's safety is the biggest priority! I think the most heartbreaking thing is they didn't give my child a chance to adapt to the environment or modify the camp schedule. They immediately decided they didn't want to work with him. I say this to say don't waste your time sending your children here for summer camp if they have any type of special needs. They will not work with them AT ALL! They didn't give my child any time to adjust. I'm disgusted with this location & the staff here.
