You do need gloves for class but my friend brought some for me, otherwise you will need to buy them from the studio. I was told that it's best practice to keep a punching bag inbetween you and the next person if possible. The instructor came over to introduce herself and came to asses my kickboxing knowledge. I had done some sessions in the past, so I was able to keep up easily with the constantly changing combos. It may be daunting for newcomers but just punching and kicking the bags is a phenomenal workout whether or not you get it right. The instructor was really motivating and supportive. I really enjoyed my experience and would love to go back soon!

The instructors are inviting and truly take the time to get to know you. They make you feel seen by taking the initiative to remember your name and have conversations with you not only about your practice but your life outside of yoga as well. I've taken classes with Megan, Danea, Byron, Lyric, and Chelsea and I truly look forward to seeing them when I walk in. The Vinyasa classes are my go to for a great workout. The Buti classes are fun and so unique. The candlelit classes provide such a cool atmosphere. Yoga Nidra is a truly out of body meditative experience. They also have workshops throughout the month which aren't included in a monthly membership but with the membership you do get a discount on these! I would love to try the sound bath one day but they are always booked up so quickly. Which must be an indicator that these are phenomenal. I started off with the New Student Special: 30 Days for $35 and went almost every day. This is a great deal if you want to try Kula out first. I now have the monthly membership which comes with some really cool perks like 15% off floats at phlot GR and a once a month guest pass to bring a friend for a class. Maybe one day i'll get my boyfriend to try it out! If you have questions about the membership options the website is helpful and all the instructors are super happy to answer any of those questions. I know I get nervous about going to places for the first time but those nerves were quickly settled once I entered Kula. The instructor checking you in will let you know everything you need to know before heading up. So take that leap of faith and try something new. Maybe I'll see you there. :) (Oh and no phones inside the rooms! Thank you Byron for letting me snap these quick pics for my review!)

I was paying $150/mo for my gyms in Tampa so your $85 with my company discount doesn't scare me. At all. I was prepared to sign a membership and grab a personal training package because being a Covid nurse has really thrown my fitness into a downward spiral and I've been trying to recoup on my own since I've moved to Holland. I have no qualms about prioritizing my fitness and I really enjoy the accountability of having a trainer, plus they have group fitness classes and I sure do love me some group training (ex Burn Bootcamp member. Someone please open a Burn in Holland. Please!) So I go in. The dude that checked me in was nice enough. I told him I signed up for a day pass. He said okay and enjoy your workout. Like OBVIOUSLY it's my very first time here. There are multiple floors and rooms to this place so I was pretty shocked when I asked where everything was that nobody offered me a tour. He just said "the locker room is downstairs" okay bro. Whatever. Needless to say that the indifference was noted and I'll be bringing it back to my work peers. Just because we get a corporate discount doesn't mean it's worth using. They have a great variety of equipment and different rooms, classes, etc but they have no interest in customer service. Holland people: DM me your favorite gym and why! I have a throwaway membership at PF for the time being and THEY'RE even nicer than MVP was and I'm seriously only paying $10 like wth.

Justin is the owner and instructor and he did a great job with one-on-one assistance and instruction throughout the class. He explained proper form and safety and demonstrated each exercise in the shred portion of the class. It was a fun and challenging workout that definitely got me feeling strong. Justin also provides personal training sessions, nutrition coaching, and online training. I liked the small group size which allowed for more personalized coaching even in a group setting. Drop in classes are $20, which seems pretty reasonable. I'm glad I got this opportunity to meet Justin and try a new class. If you're looking for some guidance on using kettlebells, definitely check out Forever Young Studios!

I worked for 10 years in a health club. I know much of the work that goes into maintaining a facility like this. It is hard to keep a facility looking this bright and clean. I am a bit of a gym rat, I like to work out and will likely get to be on the receiving end of a lunk alarm yet. Still, I like the idea of making the gym free of "gymtimidation" and keeping it affordable so that everyone can have access to personal fitness. I have always said that teaching someone to care for their body will not happen if you have to teach them first to hate how it looks. Planet Fitness is a place for everyone to learn to be fit.
