My go to location since it's closer to me. I've been enjoying taking more barre classes here. The instructors are clear to follow and place is always clean. I've taken Barre classes in Arizona and California, never in Baltimore until now. Happy to report I tried my first Barre class here at Roland Park Pure Barre and LOVED IT! I've always known Pure Barre offers your first class for free, so I went to the website to sign up for one. As luck would have it during that time, Pure Barre was offering one free week of unlimited classes. What a steal! I eagerly signed up. I believe the sale associate's name was Kristen. She kindly walked me through all the class offered at Pure Barre in Roland Park, what to expect and the prices, all without pressuring me to join. Unfortunately due to work and school schedule I was unable to take full advantage of the free week of unlimited class. I only made it to 3, hence my reason for not signing up right now as a member. If I had more flexibility I would have joined. I don't remember the 3 instructors names I've met but they were a pleasure to work with, so were the other guests. 5 stars Pure Barre Roland Park folks. Updating! I have now been here 7-8 times now. It's a great workout to add into your mix as the muscles worked and style of activation is different than other forms. Fantastic for toning. I would say it's a lot more lower body and abs than upper body. Cardio intervals in Pure Empower aren't really that hard so don't expect that to be your cardio for the day, although it's nice to have the variety. I have been impressed at how the class routines change consistently even though the fundamental movements are the same. They also often are celebrating some sort of "holiday" at the studio so often there are little snacks or fun things out front. You can park in the free garage or park in the 45 min spots out front. They are pretty strict about not letting people in if you are more than a few min late to class, like more than 3 minutes is their threshold. read more

I had a good first class here! They have plenty of offers where you can sign up for their email list and try out a class for free. I definitely broke a sweat and it was challenging but I'm glad I didn't give up. My instructor was knowledgeable, patient and encouraging. We did a variety of things and I am sure if you keep coming you will grow to be in really good shape. The prices are a bit steep depending on your income and budget, but you can drop in on a class for $25 which I'm def considering! They have a deal going on right now where you can pay $71.10 for a month of classes (1 per week), which is around $17.77 per class for the month. I love the classes and instructors, they're truly wonderful. Unfortunately after three months I have decided to cancel my membership because it's been very frustrating to update it to fit the needs of my schedule as a new mom and business owner myself. I'm disheartened that the franchise owner, Chelsea, isn't more flexible with adjusting membership requests for their customers, who are mainly women. You'd think a woman owned company would be more compassionate and understanding. Again, great workout and lovely instructors! BUT if you have a busy life and need to edit it once and a while (who doesn't these days) then I highly suggest not committing to a membership because it will take nearly two months to update it to an option that's more suitable for your needs, or to cancel it all together. Consider drop in classes or a class pass, or another studio. Hopefully sooner than later management will practice more membership flexibility for their customers when requested to show just how much they value them and appreciate their business. read more

I have always been a Bar Method gal, but was really happy to try Pure Barre in Roland Park. Compared to my Bar Method experience, this class was a little more 'pumped' up. I went in for one of the 'new client' reformer barre classes and it was TOUGH (lots of resistance bands, sliders for core work, etc.). The music was a little bit loud to hear exactly what everything our instructor was saying, but she was really helpful in providing modifications and making adjustments to form to make sure we were getting what we needed from each exercise. There was free parking in the garage right next to the studio (for ~4 hours) and everyone was really helpful in getting me set up and showing me around the studio. Because it was national bubble bath day, they had cute bath bombs for us to try on the way our and they even had a '2022' vision board that folks were filling out. I could definitely see myself coming here for a weekly class (and running errands in the well-equipped plaza) before or after as part of my weekend routine. P.S. A COVID note - everyone was wearing masks and the stations were set with good distance between each! read more

I've been to Pure Barre in a few other cities, and it's never been my favorite chain of studios. However, this location is so close, so convenient. I love that I can walk over. I've been to five or six classes at this studio, and the classes are challenging and fun. My biggest gripe about this studio is that the instructors aren't often very clear or descriptive, and I often have to stare at other people to figure out what I'm supposed to do. I've noticed a lot of us looking to each other at the same time for some guidance. I wish the instructor stayed at the bar more so we could look to them for more guidance. It's about as pricey as the average yoga, Pilates, or barre studio. If you get on their email list, they'll sometimes have some good deals (I just got 6 classes for the price of 3). I'm sure there are some people who love Pure Barre. If you're one of those people, definitely check out this studio. If you're more like me, and it's not your normal jam, you can still check it out and pick up a class every once in a while when the mood strikes you! read more

You have a secure place for your things and they let you know what equipment you need when... so your never left wondering what comes next. I usually go to the Harborside location but came up to check the new studio out! Beautifully decorated and airy. Instructors are welcoming and great just like at Harborside. I've gone to studios in Fort Lauderdale, Ashburn, South Riding, Rockville, Twinbrook and I'm addicted. Low impact hour workout that tones everything I need! You push yourself as hard as you want. The more I go and my body tones, I feel like I can target zones more than I started so the classes seem to get harder not easier. It's transformed my body and I love it! read more

Not only do I feel safe and secure with temperature checks and sanitization after every class, there are a variety of options both in person and virtual. I hesitate to give this 2 stars because the studio is gorgeous (minus the lack of windows) and the instructors are all very nice and welcoming. BUT I've experienced so much better. I usually go to Studio B in Belvedere Square and Embody in Roland Park and I never should have strayed from them. Here's the differences: The studios I mentioned aren't Pure Barre aka the franchise conglomerate. Pure Barre instructors are very young, half weren't in shape (yes I know, horrible to say and who am I to talk, but don't you want to aspire to look like your instructors?? You want to be motivated to do the workouts they do so you can look great like them), and Pure Barre teachers are just blandly reading a script. They barely demonstrate the moves so I had to crane my neck to look at everyone else in the class to see what position I should be in. I've taken many barre classes before and I was lost; I can't imagine how hard it'd be for a newbie! (I tried 5 different instructors here to give it a fair shake). In the other studios, the teachers are doing the class WITH you the ENTIRE time, right front and center so you know exactly what you should be doing. They are all mature professionals who know about the body and anatomy. They explain which muscle group you're working and know what modifications to recommend if you have a previous injury. I felt safe with them. I also get a much better arm workout with them. (Pure Barre in comparison kinda just skips over arms). And what a difference some natural lighting makes in a studio! It was so depressing to go in PB on a nice sunny day and be locked in a dark, windowless studio. I get why PB is so popular - their marketing is insane! But to get a true workout, I just can't go back. read more

No one even claps after the class is done which may be more of a reflection of the people who attend this studio, however there are only a couple of instructors that are high energy, or will walk around to correct you. read more

This cute little place is located right next to my office. It provides the best mid-day workout in town!! It is challenging and is the perfect brain boost to get you through your workday. Pure Barre is the only consistent work out that has completely fit all my needs. The 3 styles of classes are great and the schedules are flexible. It's the perfect mix of knowing what to expect and have a little bit of a change with every single class. Everyone is nice and understanding. I've tried to establish a workout routine with other exercises (running, gym, yoga, kickboxing, etc) so many times and have normally fizzled out after a month. I've been regularly going to classes here for about 5 months and I love it so much. I actually look forward to going to class which is a new experience for me. The instructors are amazing and helpful, even though I may hate them for those 55 minutes. I've asked for help a few times with proper form or with managing my back pain, and they're more than happy to stay after class with me. Another reviewer mentioned that the instructors don't do the move the whole time like that's a bad thing. I actually think that's one of Pure Barre's strongest attributes. The instructors use that time to help correct your form or to give you a shout out if you're doing well (great motivation). And if you ever have trouble figuring out the move, 90% of the time another instructor is taking the class with you so you can see what they are doing. I've heard about other PB studios that have a bad rep for lack of diversity, but I love going to class and seeing women (and men) of all different ages, sizes, shapes and colors. This studio is very inclusive. As for the actual workout, classes will kick your ass but they'll go by quickly and you'll have fun. You can always pull out of a move or use the modifications that the instructor provides if it gets to be too much. I never did dance and I'm very inflexible, so it took me awhile to not feel completely awkward during class, but going regularly has helped and now I find myself practicing moves during random parts of the day like a PB nerd. I have been doing pilates - trying all 3 types of classes - regularly at Pure Barre Rotunda for the past six weeks in order to rehab my knee. What I've gained is much more than what I was expecting. My waistline is trimmer (my diet hasn't changed) and my stomach much stronger (plenty of room left for improvement!). My posture and flexibility are vastly improved. And what I appreciate the most is the practical application of this unexpected strength. I had to wear new evening dress shoes - never known for their comfort - for 8 hours this past weekend. Normally, my back aches after standing in heels for just an hour, much less walking and dancing for 8. But my back neither hurt that night nor was sore the next day. I anticipated the opening of this studio the second I heard about it and started out with an unlimited one month trial the weekend they officially opened. Well in under a month I'm hooked to a new workout and just started my second month of sessions. The instructors are motivating and keep me smiling through it all! The studio is well kept and inviting. It's easy to feel intimidated in studios like these but I've felt welcomed from the beginning. So many of the instructors have quickly learned my name which has only helped encourage me to push harder! I am new to barre and was excited to try this studio. I signed up online and received no confirmation but thought nothing of it. When I arrived for the 8:30am class at 8:25am the instructor came to the locked door, confirmed my identity (without inviting me in) and told me I needed to sign to be walked through a waiver before attending the class and that I wouldn't be permitted to take the class. After finding childcare for my children and taking an Uber to this location I was beyond frustrated. If the waiver signing process is so extensive this should be clarified and highlighted online and with a confirmation email. read more

I joined Pure Barre when the first Baltimore studio opened (harborside) and moved my membership to this location when it opened because it is closer to home. Before PB, I never found an exercise that I enjoyed or could commit myself to. I love it here, the classes are challenging but fun. I like that while the format of the classes is the same each time, the specific moves are always changing. The women (+occasional man) who work here are all very friendly and helpful, and I always feel comfortable asking questions before, during, or after class. As a teacher, I also love that there is a 10% membership discount. read more
