Before the cleaning
Tanya S.

Alex from Pure Air was very helpful and patience no in explaining what was being done on the job he was performing. Very thorough and professional at cleaning the house vents and ducts. They picked up after themselves and provided before and after pictures.

Pic of the lint that was pulled out of my "cleaned" dryer wall vent.

Unfortunately, that was not the case. Amber initially came to my home, took measurements, and told me she would work with my insurance company to obtain additional funds needed to properly repair my bathroom. After speaking with the insurance company, she returned and informed me that I would have to pay my insurance deductible before a project manager would even come out to begin the process. While I thought this was unusual, I paid the deductible in good faith. Things only got worse from there. I was then contacted by Barbora, who informed me that DC Restoration required 100% of the project cost up front, including all of the insurance proceeds that had been issued to me. The problem was that my insurance company had only sent me less than $800, yet DC Restoration was demanding that I pay more than $4,000 before any work would begin. The way Barbora handled the situation was completely unacceptable. She repeatedly raised her voice, was demanding, dismissive, and extremely difficult to communicate with. Customer service matters, especially when you're already dealing with the stress of a home insurance claim, and this experience only made things worse. There are plenty of restoration companies to choose from, and based on my experience, I would encourage homeowners to look elsewhere. A company in the service industry should treat customers with respect and professionalism. Unfortunately, that was not my experience with DC Restoration.

The remodel took over six weeks, and during that time we were displaced from our bedroom and had to move into a spare room upstairs. Recently, I noticed the caulk around the bathtub seal was coming up. It took more than two weeks for someone to come out, and the repair itself took only about five minutes. Instead of handling it as a courtesy, I was told the work had been installed in January 2024, the warranty was only for two years, and I was a few months outside the warranty period, so technically I should be charged got a $150 service call. While he were here, one of the toilets they had installed also needed a very minor adjustment inside the tank. Again, I was told I was just outside the warranty period and would have to pay over $150 for a service call for what was essentially a two-minute fix. I understand that labor is not free, and I respect that service companies have to charge for their time. However, after spending nearly $40,000 with this company, I expected at least a little courtesy and goodwill for such small, quick adjustments. Instead, I was met with a rude attitude and a complete unwillingness to help unless I paid another service charge. My biggest issue is not just the warranty cutoff. It is the lack of professionalism, courtesy, and customer care after we spent so much money with them. The experience felt very transactional: take the money, then refuse to stand behind the work in any reasonable way once the big project was done. Based on our experience, I would not use this company again, and I would strongly encourage others to be cautious. Get every warranty term in writing, keep all documentation, and be prepared for them to request proof and charge service fees even for very minor issues. Or just avoid them all together and don't do business with them. Buyer beware.

The sales manager was also extremely nice and supportive; even when I didn't buy what they were selling, he made it clear there were no hard feelings and offered to help with any future questions. Rhino seems like an amazing company when it comes to the physical work they do. However, Jimmy heavily stressed Rhino's "attention to detail," yet there were several dropped balls and inconsistencies in the back end of his pitch. For example, he boasted that Rhino relies purely on word of mouth, doesn't advertise, and keeps everyone in-house like a family without using contractors. But when I asked for a lawn sign, he told me he didn't carry them because he is a W-2 employee and only the "contractor employees" (door-to-door sales) carry them. Having door-to-door contractors completely contradicted his earlier claims. He also told me Rhino is exclusively in Texas, but I easily found reviews from out-of-state customers that were actively responded to by Rhino's director of marketing. While contractors and advertising are completely fine, the slip-ups in the pitch didn't align with the extreme attention to detail they promised. Additionally, while the presentation was top-tier, I kept looking and found an offer that severely beat Rhino's price for the exact same classifications of roofing plus more. Overall, they seem like a great roofing company, but they may not have the best prices and the sales team needs a bit more training to get their story straight.
