This is not about the techs, they are awesome! This is about the office. I set up an appointment, was charged the $99 service call fee, and then called back shortly after making the appointment to cancel, because we figured out the issue. I have called 6 times since February 18 and completed two "Contact Us" requests, and they have yet to refund the $99 service call. Every time I call, I am told, "We have a new system and only the owner can do refunds, and that's usually on Fridays. We'll leave another message." I even asked if they could just credit my account with them so it's there when I renew my service contract, and that didn't work. At what point do I call my credit card company and report this as fraud? read more

Avoid this money grabbing company. Hired them to replace a coil. They over pressurized the system leading to a complete system failure and dead compressor. My house serviced by PAC for a very long time. In 2020 I install a new Trane A/C system, replacing the old one, same exactly. Old one worked with no problem for 9 years. With the same parameters. Same Trane, just a new pump and a blower. Since that I had a lot of problems with the Trane hardware and some charges and service. 2 years ago, blower motor was busted. It took 2.5 weeks to fix a motor problem. 2 motors were changed with a 3 attempts to make it works. In 2 years I have a problem again, capacitor $321, service call included, next just service call - $149, A/C just does not work. Next $760 for the pressure valve. It works for 3 days and finally the blower motor busted. (I am sure because if all those manipulations). Another charge for 600 american rubles and wait time 5-7 days for a part. I switched the provider right away, and tomorrow morning Gulf Cooling will install Lenox A/C. Yes, I lost some money. But you should not. Do not buy Trane product at all. If you do not want an extra charges, stay away from Pure Air also. read more

Very disappointed and very unprofessional. I Won't use & definitely I will not recommend .It's April 2025 and record heat & no AC, and I have an elderly renter in my unit . Last week they sent " an experienced technician"-but he did not assess everything. A week later I still have no quote. Then said they were coming out again and I would have to again make my neighbors available because they needed access to the Attic. Without consultation for me, they scheduled a technician from 12 to 2. I called them back to tell them this time was not going to work for my neighbor because he works. I told them I couldn't understand that they had to come out and look at it again because one person had already been out there and they had already done work in our building. The receptionist started yelling at me and telling me "that's what they had to do because they were professionals". She was talking over me and yelling so I asked for a manager. The manager blamed it on their new phone system. This company replaced the line sets and AC units of three other neighbors in my building buildings. I sent them the architectural drawings and pictures as well to try to jog someone's memory of the previous work. Maybe they have a lot of turnover at the company and can't keep their employees. Pure Air gave me a runaround for an entire week and then Mikal ( manager) said that they were not up for the job! ( line set replacement). They should have known that many days ago that they could not do the job. This is probably the most unprofessional HVAC company I have encountered and I only used them because they had done other work in the building. A friend of mine, who happens to be Vietnames just had the worst experience and asked me to call and help sort it out. I called and spoke to Mary, I tried to explain the confusion and she snapped back at me in the rudest ways. She raised her voice at me and I calmly tried to explain I was just seeking to understand so that I could explain to my friend and resolve the issue. The charged $129 service call/15 min diagnostic fee. The tech tried to fix the transformer by fixing some wires, which did not work. The tech then tells my friend that the transformer needed replaced and left. The office called back, Erin, and demanded $service fee be paid and in addition, the repair charges. My friend advised that he would pay when the work was completed and AC was working. Pure air the proceeded to threaten legal action against my friend and it all went downhill from there! I have to wonder if this behavior was due to the fact that my friend his Vietnamese. Poor customer service indeed and you just don't treat people disrespect like this! Used Pure Air for over 10 years. In addition to 2X yearly maintenance, they installed a new Trane unit 6 yrs ago to replace our 12 yo unit. New unit continually had issues including a compressor failure in 2024. In Feb. 2025, unit stopped working again. Total of 4 service visits over a 2 week period without a solution: cost $678 to replace air flow control board. On the next visit--we were told rats or anoles must have eaten through wires to thermostat. Estimate for rewiring (promised in 24 hours) never arrived. We were ghosted (no response to email or phone calls). Still no functioning AC (26 days out) and we don't have rats. Called another AC company. They identified problem (bad wire harness), ordered the part and had AC running in 2 days: Cost $185. Out of curiosity, we called Pure Air to request the rewire estimate. Finally sent (predated by 10 days). Cost: $956. A total charge of $1700 to fix something that cost $185. We cut ties (although we had one visit left on service contract). Contacted company to express displeasure and relate details. No response--apparently the way the business works now. Too bad, used to be reliable, not anymore. Buyer beware!! THE BEST! Just had a new air conditioner installed at my home from Pure Air Conditioning. They showed up at the scheduled time, were very polite, very careful, protected my home where they would be walking and working, worked diligently to get the unit installed beautifully (upstairs and fan outside), and they cleaned up after they completed the job! Tried to bait and switch, told me my drip pan was cracked, needed new one for over 1,500. Had my own handyman look at the situation, he could find no crack, so he used Flex seal on the pan just to be safe, total cost for him to inspect, clean and seal less than 115.00. At installation of new unit , compressor was bad, I KNEW THEN I SHOULD OF DEMANDED new unit. 2nd year new coil. 3rd year leak. 4th year leak. 5th year switch bad in unit 6th nothing alleluia beginning of 7th year new coil 2nd unit no problems at all, that tells me that 1st unit was defective when installed, 6 service calls in 7 years, 0 service calls in 2nd unit in 7 years. It don't take a rocket scientist! While they pay for parts, just in labor. I COULD OF BOUGHT A WHOLE NEW SYSTEM PURE AIR AVOIDS ME, IVE HAD MAINTENANCE PLAN WITH THEM TWICE A YEAR FOR 6 years. I'm on the fence how best to convey my concerns. I will say 2/3 of the reps that I have met have been both professional and pleasant to deal with. For what it's worth, I am never a fan of having to pay for services before receiving services, and with PA I have always had to pay before they come out. Wherein lies the problem. I had a gentleman out last week. He diagnosed the problem, had to order a new part. The part came in, and I phoned them later that week and they sent someone out to install it. The rep that came out to install it stared at the ground the whole time when I was speaking with him. He installed the part, but told me that the old part worked just fine, that the part wasn't the issue and he wasn't certain what was due to weather restrictions. Fair enough. He said he could reinstall the old part (the system is 2 years old so the parts are under warranty), but that it would be needless work for him and since the part was under warranty he'd just leave the new one in. I heard it. The other people who were in my home that afternoon heard it. I am now out $600+ on labor. The system is not fixed, and no one yet knows why it isn't working. I call again the next day, they send out a 3rd rep. Very professional, was happy working with him. He thinks he's diagnosed the problem and will order a new part. Again, part is under warranty. Labor will cost $750. At this point I an doubting everything I've been told. The right thing to do would have been to agree to a labor cost AFTER the problem had been fixed. I will be out $1350 for a system that may, may not, work. Have never heard of such a thing. I'd be happy to pay for a work that resulted in a working system, but right now I'm less-than-pleased with the worker who told me one thing, and then walked out to his truck and backed up his colleagues diagnosis after leaving. Pure Air came recommended to me. I would not be comfortable after all this recommending them. They do have some terrific representatives, and some less so, but so do all companies. We started out looking for a HVAC company to replace several units in our complex after a hurricane. We requested an estimate for the replacement. A representative of the company, came out at the agreed upon time, explained the process and options then got an estimate the next day. Any questions we had were answered promptly and work progressed as stated. We were very pleased with the installation, it was completed on time. and the area was restored and we were not able to see any indication that a lot of work was completed and all packing material and dust was carefully removed. We were given a great explanation regarding the working of the unit and how to maintain the unit. The unit carried a free 6 month checkup. We were called to make an appointment for the checkup, we were able to schedule when we would have someone to let the serviceman in. He arrived on time, checked the unit out and left a confirmation that the service was preformed for the condo association. Having a service agency that keeps appointments, arrives on time and left receipt that the work had been completed. Had a series of issues with installation of a new Trane A/C system with brand new equipment out of the box defective, missing parts, damaged. None of this the fault of Pure Air but, I mention it because they were quick to replace the equipment and complete the installation for the most part. Had to have a couple of return visits to install missing parts and in doing so a technician knocked out a support to the drain line and because he didn't notice it the system later shut down due to a safety switch back up. They convinced me to buy two new Trane $$ units when I moved in. The first day we moved in, we had issues with condensation and eventually, mold. They convinced us we needed to move ductwork and they came out a bunch of times to fix the condensation. It kept getting worse. I finally had another company come out who told me the vents at the ceiling were closed! I can't imagine how much less my power bills would have been for two years not to mention all the money I spent on moving ductwork. All they had to do was open the vents. Once that was done, the condensation dried up within two hours! Now, there is a leak in the coil and I need to spend another $1500 fixing it. STAY far away from this company. read more

I had to bring Pure Air to small claims court because the owner refused to refund me for pre-paid service agreement he cancelled. The Lee County courts found in favor of my claim and ordered Pure Air/ Mr Crothers to pay me the balance of the agreement plus court costs which he has refused to obey. We questioned the company's invoice, calling several times without response, and then went to their office only to see that customers are not welcomed to "walk-in." Finally got a call back and it was the worst, most unprofessional exchange I ever had. So... if you are unhappy, be prepared to be bullied, harrassed and treated quite nasty. Key learning: Look at the negative reviews before doing business with them/anyone. This company is not customer-friendly. Can't speak to the work since we were not pleased in total. "i thought i may hv cancer" tested in aug by my dr's after i found mold in my home due to the extreme high humidity, caused by the extremely poor install of my ac unit 9/13 i started having a plethora of medical symptoms @1 mo after the install of my ac unit 9/13, i was unsure what the cause was from the day i found the mold in my home it now made sense, went to my dr. adv my symptoms + mold. sent me for xrays, ultrasound, bloodwork that day. i was dx w toxic goiter w multiple nodules. it was explained "toxic" is "mold" in the ac, ducts and my home being directly related to the poor ac install 9/13 i contacted the ins comp, they sent out a cert mold + ac insp. he very thoroughly chkd all out. found mold on/in the handler, ducts + in my home! crothers + the county knew this bc written on the very 1st failed insp (1 of 3 fails) "fix mold". guess it was forgotten !! (crothers sent out a mold remediator not cert tester who told me point blank "he does not test mold, the reason he was sent out bc he was free". "he saw mold and oh, well there is always mold on all ac units" lol, really ? black stachybotrys + penicillim aspergillus ? those molds are always on everyone's ac units ? i highly doubt it ! then wrote up some worthless bs rpt, which means crap bc he's not a cert mold tester by the state of fl !! 1)the ins comp sent a state cert insp to test everything and everywhere. checking why there was mold inside my home? the ac was never performing properly ever from day one! the output of the handler was over 65% in the attic, should be be below 50%. moisture + mold + mildew is still all over the handler ~ outside ~ under ~ why?? 2) the flex duct rtn was/is not properly installed to the flex fiberboard. the techs slathered so much mastic on it, hardened and broke off, leaving the lg 2' flex duct on the attic floor. i had to tape it up to the fiberboard the best i could bc crothers refused to come back out stating it was not his responsibility to fix, yet it was his employees that put it up improperly the 1st time !! 3) extremely high levels of humidity in my home range from 62%-89% that is directly related to the failed poor install of my ac unit bc its still not operating as it should be ! 4) the drain pan fell off in the middle of the night @7 mos ago due to the weight of water in it, bc it was capped off to drain no where and it was being held up w blk tie wraps!! this passed code how ?? 5) still not draining properly, water all over the garage floor, looks like a waterfall pouring out of the handler many times a day! sweating~ communication errors daily "battery + power fail" ~ waterpump installed day 1 to rmv the water failing to work also ! 6) half ass tries to fix over 1 yr later , handler is literally only 1" from the ceiling. impossible to level or seal it properly or do anything to make it pass code yet the chief county insp said he was so sick and tired of driving out here 20+ times over 1 yr later after ac was installed to keep checking on the bs crap they kept saying they were fixing but never did actually fix ~ chief insp said "beth i'm really sorry, but i'm so fed up w driving out here i'm going to pass them this time. but we'll stand behind you in whatever happens. i don't agree w it either trust me !!" it was never fixed properly, drain pan not connected, not sealed properly top or sides, ducts leaking some fell off, mold not taken care of, the list goes on. yet it was passed. joke! 7) 3/21 w the cooler wx, i thanked god i was able to turn the ac off and miraculously my symptoms almost subsided. i had to turn it back on this past week, all came back with a vengeance !! i again turned it off, hopefully the wx will remain cooler so i can lv it off again for awhile. 8) 4/8 i had the l 1/2 of my thyroid rmvd inc 3 malignant nodules. which is/was caused by the toxic levels of humidity+ mold, this has destroyed my life, affecting me 4 life-also found 1 of my para thyroids was a tumor rmvd at the same time. never prior had an issue w my thyroid til pure air install ac smh crothers will twist this to make it about him - always does! seems to think the world revolves around him! my health+mechanical issues all directly related to the poor install of rheem 2-stage 18 seer new ac unit by pure air 9/13. police are aware that crothers was banned from my home since 9/13 due to documented threats to me they hv copies in rpts. crothers comments are assinine and reflect his lack of any knowledge. has nothing to do w my 501c3 rescue grp. he fabricates stories, tiffany his vp emailed the same vendictive ltr to code+health+zoning depts, animal cntl+ peta lying about the cond at my hm@ my rescue. he was so pissed@ my rvws crothers way to get back at me~agencys told me vindictive ltrs are 3rd degree felonies. insp didn't get a rash from my hm lies anyone has a dbpr complaint against pure air~contact fl state atty sorin ardelean 850-717-1226 sorin.ardelean@myfloridalicense.com ref #2014-052132 read more

Very upset. Had a new system installed in January 2020. It stopped running in February 2021. It took four technicians to come out and resolved a clogged drain line issue. By May 2021, Pure Air acknowledged that they installed a faulty system after it stopped running again. It is October now, and the system stopped running again with a clogged drain line. Their service technician is telling me that until a month ago, they would not have the tools to properly unclog the drain line and is charging me $228 to unclog it again. Since installing the new AC, I have spend more than $1500 on repairs and refunding upset guests. Be careful what you buy from this company! read more

My air conditioner stopped blowing cold so I called this horrible company and said a tech will be out in a couple hours. They collected a deposit of $129 for the service call. The tech said I need a new capacitor which he replaced. He then billed me another $235 for a $15 part and 5 minutes to install it. Total was $364. The tech that came was was extremely rude. When we talked to a manager at company the following day he said that's the going rate to replace that part. The whole experience was horrible and they are very rude.
