I just had the best coffee I've had in a while!! Honey lavender latte. Not bitter. Not burnt. Not too hot. Full of flavor that didn't taste like fake flavoring. The lavender wasn't over powering, just a hint, but the honey was where it was at! There was like over an inch of froth...just like God designed it to be. I wasn't sure I'd be able to find much of a cafe in Richmond, but this one offered both a drive-through and ample seating and a locally slanted selection of beverages and food. It's the kind of place where conversations range from talking about HBO changing its name to Max to something about "finding God". A "baked oatmeal" turned out to be a rather moist bar kind of a thing with ample fruits inside and milk and yogurt on the side. It was quite messy, but I discovered the spoon they'd given me in the bag a bit too late; I was a bit puzzled they gave it to me to go since I didn't ask for that. Their version of a chai latte was a cracking beverage full of sugar, spice, and actual tea flavor. Cute little coffee shop with small bites/cafe style atmosphere. Space was very clean, ambient noise was great, and everything was relaxing. My Pollo Purdy (a shredded chipotle chicken wrap with slaw) was delicious and filling, reasonably priced for the amount, and the specialty drink: Summer Splash was amazing. Others in the group ordered the chicken salad salad (full disclosure: it is quite the petite serving of chicken salad). Service was great, the cashier had great patience while we (a group of 4) figured out exactly what we wanted and asked our questions regarding allergens. Our meals were brought out to our table and whatever else we needed (napkins, silverware, straws, etc) they were happy to provide. Would definitely eat here again if ever in the area; wish them all the best. read more

Cute coffee shop, lots of space inside, clean bathrooms, and great menu for drinks and munchies! They have a drink menu that changes, it was full of lavender items for spring! I had their latte with sorghum in it- it's reminiscent of molasses if you have t had sorghum before, I'd say it was an 8.5/10. My fiancé had a lavender soda, they forgot the vanilla, and he liked it a lot! The baristas were fast and friendly, and the shirts they have for sale were adorable! read more

Unfortunately, many forget that Purdy's is a great place for breakfast and lunch. We stopped in today and I had the Smokehouse wrap. Pulled Chicken, Sweet Smoked BBQ Sauce, House-made Cole Slaw, and Smoked Gouda on a Whole Grain Wrap. My lovely wife had the Nana's Chicken Salad Sandwich. House-made chicken salad made with fresh apples and topped with mixed greens on French White Bread. It seemed to me to.have more greens than chicken salad (see photos). She combined both halves into only half of a sandwich -- minus the additional salad bar to have more meat on her sandwich. Both were excellent. The wrap was hot and very tasty (my go-to lunch item here). We both had kettle chips (the only chip option). Other side options are an apple or coleslaw. My only complaint is that they only provide the very small square cocktail type drink napkins and no plates. Larger napkins and an maybe an extra piece of paper that they wrap their sandwiches in to be able to lay flat on the table under my food would be nice to be able to enjoy a nice meal. Yes, I know that their main focus is coffee, but a few very inexpensive items could have greatly improved our lunch time experience. Overall a good visit, just needs a few polishing touches to be a great restaurant to dine at, and not just a popular coffee house. I'll return soon for breakfast! We had such a wonderful drive thru experience at Purdy's Coffee Co. I'm still thinking about it and smiling. The customer service was incredibly friendly and helpful to start with and who doesn't love a local coffee shop with drive thru when you're on the road? We ordered a variety of breakfast sandwiches including the turkey wrap along with a bourbon latte, chai tea and Americano. The bourbon latte was so good! Better yet, that it wasn't overly sweet. The drive thru process was swift and seamless once we figured out how to get in the traffic flow. The breakfast menu was quite extensive and fun with other sweet options like oatmeal bake and cinnamon rolls. Note that they also have a downtown location but it does not offer a drive thru (however, the facade is very charming!). Looking forward to future excuses to stop here when I'm on the road. I've never been to the Main St location. This was our first (of many to come) visits to Purdy's. I grabbed a cinnamon roll and iced vanilla latte. My son got a country ham biscuit and a mango smoothie. Everything was good. The cinnamon roll was by far the best part. I watched one of the baristas making a caramel macchiato and I was completely mesmerized. I can't wait to try it on our next visit (and grab another cinnamon roll, of course). read more

I am a Door Dash driver and there was an issue with an order I was fulfilling and the manager did not handle the situation properly. When I arrived for the order the manager refused to take responsibility for their mistake and provide me with the full order the customer placed. This is what the manager explained. "In order to partner with Door Dash, we would have to get a Samsung tablet but we didn't want to so we went with the second option of having an automated message system call them to place the order after the customer submits it through door dash. When we received the call my employee who answered it did not write down the full order." Because of this they only had 3/5 items ready that were already paid for by the customer. Even after I showed her everything on the list that the customer ordered she refused to fulfill the rest of the order. I spent 25 minutes of my time talking with the manager and with Door Dash support. There was no way for me or the customer to cancel the order so I was left with no choice but to take the customer half of her order and risk getting a negative rating. This is how I make a living right now and I missed other order opportunities because of her. I am so disappointed in the way this manager handled this situation and for expecting me and the customer to pay for her employee's mistake. Edit: After some research I found out the manager giving me trouble was the owner. If this is how you are going to treat your customers I will no longer support your business. read more

So I was very surprised to find this cafe while driving down 25. So, I naturally stopped here in the afternoon to study. I had been to the original Purdy's a few times, but I really liked the chic clean look that this location has. The staff were really friendly and genuinely seemed to be enjoying themselves (they also knew a lot of the customer's names!). I got my coffee quickly, and I can see how this location is easy for commuters (they have a drive thru and a parking lot). I loved the inside, it has plenty of seating, good wifi, and apparently they sell beans at this location. I think this would be perfect for the student who needs some solitude to study with, or friends going out for a coffee! read more
