As a renter, working with Purdy homes was an absolute pleasure! When ever an issue arose, they always responded immediately and took care of the issue right away. I have also been a rental owner and I believe that if I had another rental in the future, Purdy homes would be the only property management firm I would use. Whether you are a home owner or a renter, you first and only call should be to Purdy Homes! read more

For anyone thinking of buying a home, I highly recommend working with Francine Lypps at Purdy Homes. We just closed escrow yesterday, and we were grateful to have her every step of the way. Whenever we called or texted her with a question, she responded right away. She was always on the lookout for homes she thought might suit us, and she listened to what we were looking for. Whenever we asked about a house, she would immediately spring into action, calling the agent, getting detailed information, and making an appointment for us to see it. We were getting discouraged, but she never gave up. She's absolutely tireless. She has the experience and knowledge to write an offer so appealing that the sellers chose ours over a higher one. My only regret is that we didn't buy a multimillion dollar home, because she worked so hard for us and didn't get the huge commission she deserved. This is a difficult time to buy a house, but Francine made the whole process as smooth and painless as possible. read more

We've recently rented a home from Margie at Purdy Homes. I was so grateful for her quick responses to the small usual issues that come up when renting. If we needed repairs, they were always quick to get someone out to fix things. Margie is very easy to work with and is a very kind person in general. I wish all landlords provided her quality of customer service and ethical business structure. I would highly recommend renting from Purdy Homes. read more

Moving from Washington DC to San Diego, we contacted Purdy Homes as the Property Manager for a rental home in Vista, CA. After having been provided instructions for application (including the unusual request for pictures of our dogs), we were told that "Your application would not be accepted until you physically saw the property". After explaining the situation (we're 3000 miles away), and having had a family member tour on our behalf, no exception was made. Margie Purdy came across as dismissive and uncompromising. We plan to purchase a home in the area in a year or two. I can say with certainty that we won't be doing business with Purdy, as an agent for us, or a seller... read more

I worked with Margie Purdy recently to sell my property. She was very knowledgeable on the entire selling process and current market conditions. She walked me through every step of selling my property and made it super easy. A few unforeseen issues arose during the selling process that Margie handled expertly. The most impressive occurred after we had already closed. I had picked up my escrow check and the title had been transferred the day before. I received an email from Margie letting me know that she may have found an error in the final settlement statement. She emailed me again shortly after informing me that the escrow company had made a mistake and charged me double for my share of the property taxes. They would be issuing me a check that day to remedy this. Everyone involved in the deal (including myself) had considered the sale done, had been paid, and were moving one. However, Margie was still in the details ensuring I was taken care of. Amazing level of service. Margie's positive attitude, experience/knowledge of the process, and advocacy for my best interests will definitely have me going back to Purdy Homes for any future real estate transactions. For 9 years, Purdy Homes managed our rental property in Carlsbad, CA. Working with Margie was always so easy. From the first day we signed up, she gave us advice on what a renter was looking for as far as paint colors and what we needed to fix to get it to market. Once it was available for rent, she always made sure she screened the tenants very well. In 9 years, we had three different tenants and never had any issues with them being able to pay rent or with anyone disrespecting the property. She always picked great people. When something needed to be fixed, she handled it and then let us know it was done. She has a list of vendors that she works with and they always did great work. She was great about giving us advice with tenant requests and how to handle them. She's very knowledgable in real estate and property management. We loved working with her and would have continued to do so for many years if our property was still a rental. Should we ever decide to put it back on the rental market, Margie and Purdy Homes will be the first we call. It was a pleasure working with this group. read more

I intend to recommend Purdy Homes Prop Mgt. to my friends who own property in the area if they plan to rent or sell as I can't imagine it getting any better than Margie and her team. As a real estate professional myself I know there are tons of property management companies out there, however,  if you are an owner, or tenant, know that you are in good hands. I will recommend them to all of my clients who are looking for management in the areas they service. The team showed exceptional customer service, especially Vicki, fantastic attention to detail, and expeditious responses to questions. I highly recommend them. R.J. We were tenants of Margie's, and would definitely recommend renting from her. She really cared about our happiness as tenants. She was always prompt and friendly with her communications, and was always on top of any issue that needed attending. Margie was also very flexible, even taking Venmo payments which was very convenient. It's also important to Margie to find the right fit for renters. We had the pleasure to get to know her while renting from her, and she's truly just a great person! We very much trusted her, as she really does right by her tenants. I'd recommend Margie and Purdy Homes to anyone. read more

My husband and I have been clients of Purdy Homes since Sept. 2009 for our rental condominium unit in Carlsbad, CA. We are extremely satisfied with the management of our rental property through Purdy Homes. Margie and Pam are very professional, efficient and caring in handling all matters related to the property. We live in San Mateo, CA and Margie, Pam ensured that the unit was always rented out in a timely manner, all repairs done immediately and owner-tenant concerns addressed properly. When we decided to sell the unit this year, we consulted Margie. She provided us with the right information and negotiated the sale as our real estate agent. The property sold in a very short time. We highly recommend Purdy Homes for all your property management and real estate needs. Thank you, Purdy Homes especially Margie and Pam for the many years of a business yet personalized relationship. read more

Margie Purdy has been our property manager for more than 15 years. She is a "hands on" property manager. They offer full service and she has the best vendors around. We are so impressed with her vendors we use them at our home. They are well versed in all rental laws for both landlord and tenants. Her choice of tenants has been phenomenal. Margie makes it a breeze to be a landlord. The front office is extremely helpful and knowledgeable too and a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend Purdy Homes as a property management firm. read more

Wow....I don't know what kind of business these people are running. My husband and I are potential buyers that were in love with one of the homes they were listing. I contacted Margie (she's the co-owner of the agency) and she was extremely annoyed that I called her again after leaving her ONE message. Not only that, she sounded condescending and told me that I was quite "enthusiastic" when I wanted to make an appointment asap to see a house. To top it off, she told me husband that she wanted to be sure we don't "waste" her time and wanted background info from is. Granted this is a reasonable request, but "wasting her time"???? What kind of realtor is this????? Run, don't walk, away from this place. I feel bad for the owner of the listing as they lost a potential sale because of their extremely RUDE agent!!! read more

Purdy Homes is the way to go if you want to buy or sell in Carlsbad or the coastal North County area. After decades of doing business there, and living there, they have a shorthand by knowing all the schools, tradespeople you may need to ready your home, as well as all the things to do in the area. This knowledge adds a lot of value, as they can actually tell a potential buyer anything they need to know about the neighborhoods and surrounding area. Margie has sold 2 homes for my sister and is now selling ours. Even at the worst time of the year to put it on the market, she managed to produce lots of traffic, follow up for feedback from each showing by other realtors, and kept us up to date every step of the way. She also offered us advice and guidance whenever we needed it, we trusted her years of experience to help us make the best decisions. She cannot be beat for efficiency, enthusiasm, likability, and promptitude. She definitely gives 150% to every aspect of an intricate business. I would highly recommend Purdy Homes' team to anyone interested in buying or selling in this area. There is a reason for their longevity in this industry. read more

If you are looking to rent or if you are a property owner I strongly suggest you never ever use this company! They do not follow through with what they say at all. I was told improvements would be made to a property that I rented and they never did them. Even though I asked several times through the year lease (Every month when I paid the Rent) when something would be done the manager kept saying he would look into it. The he blamed the owner as it was his fault???? Then at the last month of the lease says the property owner needs to make repairs to the house and does not want to renew the lease????? Asked to be present for the final walk through and office manager said sure I will let him know and did I hear anything???? Nope. He then tried to say that I needed to replace garage door panels that were damaged before I moved in and I had to prove it to him by showing him a picture on Google earth. He also charged me to re-clean a stove and cook top that we cleaned fine but then guess what he does??? He replaces them. If you are an owner of a property that is managed by this company you may want to make sure that he is representing you and not passing the blame on you being a slumlord. Very Very Very Shady Company to say the least. Stay away! read more

We worked with Margie Purdy as long-distance owners who recently sold our home in Oceanside, CA. Prior to that, Margie was our property manager who managed the rental of this home for almost three years. We highly recommend Margie and her company. Both Margie and her staff are very responsive and worked diligently to make sure the home as a rental remained in top shape, and when we went to sell the property she was on top of all the little things that needed to be addressed to get the home ready to sell. Most importantly, the sale was not without the typical twists and turns. Margie stayed on top of all of them, advising us along the way and got us through to a closing, that was not without its issues as well. She is very proactive in following up with other realtors, highly ethical and stays in communication with other realtors, escrow officers and her clients. We highly recommend Purdy Homes as both a property manager and realtor. read more
