I worked with Margie Purdy recently to sell my property. She was very knowledgeable on the entire selling process and current market conditions. She walked me through every step of selling my property and made it super easy. A few unforeseen issues arose during the selling process that Margie handled expertly. The most impressive occurred after we had already closed. I had picked up my escrow check and the title had been transferred the day before. I received an email from Margie letting me know that she may have found an error in the final settlement statement. She emailed me again shortly after informing me that the escrow company had made a mistake and charged me double for my share of the property taxes. For 9 years, Purdy Homes managed our rental property in Carlsbad, CA. Working with Margie was always so easy. From the first day we signed up, she gave us advice on what a renter was looking for as far as paint colors and what we needed to fix to get it to market. Wow....I don't know what kind of business these people are running. My husband and I are potential buyers that were in love with one of the homes they were listing. I contacted Margie (she's the co-owner of the agency) and she was extremely annoyed that I called her again after leaving her ONE message. Not only that, she sounded condescending and told me that I was quite "enthusiastic" when I wanted to make an appointment asap to see a house. To top it off, she told me husband that she wanted to be sure we don't "waste" her time and wanted background info from is. Granted this is a reasonable request, but "wasting her time"???? What kind of realtor is this????? Run, don't walk, away from this place. I feel bad for the owner of the listing as they lost a potential sale because of their extremely RUDE agent!!! read more

If you are looking to rent or if you are a property owner I strongly suggest you never ever use this company! They do not follow through with what they say at all. I was told improvements would be made to a property that I rented and they never did them. Even though I asked several times through the year lease (Every month when I paid the Rent) when something would be done the manager kept saying he would look into it. The he blamed the owner as it was his fault???? Then at the last month of the lease says the property owner needs to make repairs to the house and does not want to renew the lease????? Asked to be present for the final walk through and office manager said sure I will let him know and did I hear anything???? Nope. He then tried to say that I needed to replace garage door panels that were damaged before I moved in and I had to prove it to him by showing him a picture on Google earth. He also charged me to re-clean a stove and cook top that we cleaned fine but then guess what he does??? He replaces them. If you are an owner of a property that is managed by this company you may want to make sure that he is representing you and not passing the blame on you being a slumlord. Very Very Very Shady Company to say the least. Stay away! read more
