I was a patient in the early years of H2 and they were great. Dr. Seo is a great dentist. But I also think as the practice grew, they began to leave "the little people" behind. What I appreciated about H2 his honesty and fairness. Dr. Seo had told me that I did not need a crown when another dentist had told me so. I so appreciate that. More than his bedside manner, which I thought was excellent, I just appreciated the fact that he and Leslie were straightforward and honest. So we started going to H2. I was thankful that they took my dental Insurance, which at the time was Blue Shield. There didn't seem to be any issues at all at that time, which I know was a while ago. The problem arose when I was told that Blue Shield would not be covering certain services H2 was providing. But rather than giving me this info up front and leaving the decision to me to either pay out of pocket or find a new dentist, which I would have understood, they did the work and told me the insurance wouldn't cover the costs. This led to me having to pay thousands of dollars. They said they were going to give me a "courtesy discount" of $600, but I would still owe thousands. Again, my problem is that I was never given the choice of whether to consider that I would have to pay thousands of dollars out of pocket or possibly go to a new dentist because they were no longer taking Blue Shield. I wish I would have been given that option because I couldn't afford paying thousands of dollars. So after a year, I just paid off the final bill. Despite the good care, there seemed to be a bait and switch. As their staff said, if we had been with a large company such as Apple or Microsoft, we'd be fine. But having small business insurance isn't so great. Again, I understand, but like the dentist I currently have who tells me my costs UP FRONT, I wish they would have done the same. So the lesson is, big company with big insurance is great. Small business or personal insurance, avoid H2.

If you're nervous about needles like I am, he is the dentist for you. His handiwork is so gentle that I actually had to ask if he'd even started numbing me yet! He's a down-to-earth, knowledgeable guy who never tries to sell you on unnecessary services. I've also had my teeth checked by Dr. Jimmy, who performs thorough cancer screenings after cleanings, which I really appreciate. My recent cleanings have been with Kayla, and she is wonderful. Not only does she do a very thorough job, but we always have the best conversations. The office itself is top-tier with the latest X-ray tech and even Netflix on ceiling TVs to keep you distracted. Compared to other dental offices, Twin Creeks never felt like a ripoff, they truly care about helping their patients. Now, about 4 years later, I'm still a patient here. Even though I've since moved to Sacramento, I still make the long drive to San Ramon just to see Dr. Daniel. He's always extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and gentle when working on my teeth. I unfortunately left before having my wisdom teeth removed because I no longer felt comfortable or…read moresafe proceeding. My appointment was at 5:30 PM, which I have confirmation texts for, but they didn't start preparing me until around 7:30 PM. Meena initially told me they were behind because they accepted a walk-in before my appointment, despite knowing I had been fasting all day for sedation. Later, she claimed my appointment was actually at 6:30 due to a "miscommunication." When I complained about the delay, she told me it was okay because the procedure would only take 10 minutes, even though the dentist had previously told me removing all four wisdom teeth would take 40-60 minutes. Once I was brought back, they took my blood pressure over my thick sweater with my legs crossed, with the SpO monitor on the same arm. As a nursing student, this immediately stood out to me. My biggest concern was the IV. The dentist palpated for my veins with his bare hands. When I asked if he was going to put gloves on, he told me gloves made difficult veins harder to feel and then attempted the IV without them. After touching the area with his bare fingers, he did not clean the site again before inserting the needle. He also never introduced himself and audibly groaned when I told him I had difficult veins. After one IV attempt, he gave me medication under my tongue. I was under the impression it was only to calm me down before trying the IV again. Nobody clearly explained what I was being given or how sedating it would be. I later learned it was a benzodiazepine, and I barely remember the rest of that night. I could then hear staff arguing nearby about the fact that I was supposed to receive IV sedation. At that point, I told them I did not feel safe continuing and wanted to leave. Staff repeatedly tried to convince me to stay. After I left, the surgeon even called asking me to come back because I had already taken the medication and "might as well stay." During that call, he explained that I would start feeling under the influence and that the medication would begin the sedation process, information I wish had been clearly explained before I took it. The office was also extremely cramped and unfinished, and I was told they were still moving things in and making repairs. I understand that offices run behind and IVs can be difficult. It was the combination of everything and how it was handled that made me leave. When I'm trusting someone to sedate me and perform surgery, I need to feel safe, informed, and respected. Unfortunately, I did not feel that way here.
