I was informed that Reflections Dental intends to charge me a $250 fee. On Monday, March 30, 2026, I returned a call from Shabby and clearly stated that I did not want to proceed with scheduling the appointment due to financial reasons at this time. Despite this, I was later notified that I would still be charged $250. I believe this charge is unfair. The office has a stated policy requiring cancellations to be made at least 72 hours in advance. I am confident that I canceled my appointment within the required 72-hour timeframe, and therefore, I should not be subject to any cancellation fee. Given these circumstances, I respectfully request that this charge be reviewed and removed, as it does not align with the business's stated policy. read more

I came here as a new patient and was extremely disappointed and surprised by the inconsistency of care. I arrived 15 minutes early and was seen 15 minutes late. As a new patient, I was surprised i wasn't offered a single amenity. Not even for purchase. This was probably one of the biggest let downs I've experienced since it's what they advertised all over instagram. I've never enjoyed going to the dentist and have always had dental anxiety but after a few visits with this team I no longer do when I visit. Dishonest office with absolutely no medical integrity. They schedule appointments without your involvement, cancel them without your involvement and then charge you for it, as if you took any part in their scheduling shenanigans. They recommend unnecessary procedures without giving you the full information of how it will work and how long it will take - with a single goal of milking your insurance and with complete disregard of medical necessity. Their upsell is next level. Don't buy into it, especially invisilign. There is a reason Dr Thomas is a platinum provider (without being an actual orthodontic office): she'll do it on anyone whether they need it or not. It might be okay, if it weren't so long, painful, expensive, and ultimately so not worth it. In fact, she does recommend it to anyone because technically speaking, it doesn't have to be medically necessary. Here is how it actually works: it takes two years to do it with Dr Thomas, even for minor corrections. Because, stable income. You will have to visit the office every three weeks or whenever your buttons fall off (it happens a lot!). They also overshoot with teeth movement all the time and have to make adjustments when your teeth travel too far. Believe me, it's painful when your teeth move. When they have to move there and back in a hobbit-like manner, it's twice as painful. It's also painful to have buttons. Regular buttons hurt and make sores in your mouth. Sharp metal buttons hurt even more - imagine having a piece of nail stuck to your tooth in the same for a month. They also installed these metal buttons without informing me first what they are. Yes, you read that right. You will see Dr Thomas all of 2 minutes each appointment. Her ever-changing assistants will do all of the actual work. And yes, staff turnover is a real problem at that office, and there must be deeper reasons for it. Every time, she will tell you it's almost done and your next appointment is likely the last one. They will schedule and reschedule your appointments multiple time based on Dr Thomas's convenience, sometimes on the same day, as if your job and other commitments had never played a role. For 2 years you will have to time your meals, drink hot liquids and eat hot meals during those short time windows when you are not wearing trays. No, you won't necessarily lose weight. I gained 10 pounds since I started invisilign. I'm not saying it's because of them, but I'm also not saying it's not. All in all, avoid this "dental spa" like a plague. I had been avoiding the dentist after a bad experience, and I was so nervous coming in for my procedure. This place completely changed my dental fear! The second you walk in, it feels more like a spa than a dental office with water features, massage chairs...the whole vibe is calming. The front desk staff were SO kind (on the phone and in person), which instantly put me at ease. They even have a comfort menu (blanket, temple massager, neck wrap, aromatherapy, etc.). It felt more like a spa day than a dental visit! The dentist herself was incredible. She was so patient, kind, and she explained every step so I actually understood what was happening. I was told I needed a crown from another dentist but she was able to fix it with just a quick filling. She was compassionate about my worries, and my filling ended up being 100% painless. Been going for years, but after several experiences with treatments suggested that were not needed or cosmetic work pushed, Im out. Recently they dropped our insurance but didn't inform us, we we're getting crazy high estimates for out of pocket and my wife literally walked right before the procedure when they handed the bill. The way that was handled to give the out of network estimate (without saying so) while in chair was very unprofessional. Reflection Dental Spa Review: I have been a loyal customer/patient of Reflection Dental Spa for over five years. In the past, they were in-network with most insurance companies, and while the service was decent, the coverage and out-of-pocket costs were manageable. Unfortunately, my most recent experiences have been extremely disappointing. First, in the middle of the calendar year, they switched to being out-of-network without notifying patients. This change dramatically increased my out-of-pocket costs. I only found out after receiving dental work and being presented with a much higher bill than expected. While I understand that insurance fee schedules can make it difficult for businesses to survive, there is no excuse for failing to inform patients of such a major change. Patients deserve transparency so they can make informed decisions about their care and financial obligations. Second, my recent cleaning was unacceptable. I paid $352 at the time of service, only to later receive another bill for $189.65--on top of what insurance will already pay them. That means I paid over $540 out-of-pocket for a standard cleaning that should be 100% covered by my PPO insurance. To make matters worse, the cleaning itself was poorly done. Food particles and plaque remained on my teeth afterward, and when I voiced concerns about a sensitive tooth with a cavity, nothing was scheduled or addressed. Instead, the focus shifted to cosmetic issues with my front tooth. This was not just disappointing--it felt negligent. After the appointment, I left messages for Dr. Thomas multiple times requesting a call back. No one returned my calls. On the third day, I finally spoke to the front desk, only to be met with dismissiveness. At that point, I decided I was done. A dentist who does not care enough to return patient calls is not a dentist I can trust with my health. In summary: Reflection Dental Spa has shifted focus away from patient care and healthy teeth to prioritizing cosmetic "spa" services. If you want healthy teeth, this is not the place for you. While Dr. Thomas has created what I would consider the most beautiful, esthetically pleasing physical office space I've ever seen, that is where the quality ends. She wasn't kidding when I heard her joke, the month this location opened, that her "husband would have to bury her in the building" due to the overwhelming debt she took on to fund that building space. From there, everything makes sense from unwarranted Invisalign treatment without any end in sight, to upselling and promoting products that can't even be used while one is in treatment, to their less-than-professional front office staff who approach every transaction as if they are used-car-salespeople on commission. (It begs the question if they get a percentage of their "sales" as commission or bonuses, it's that obvious). Anyway, the California dental licensing board needs to open an investigation. This is one of the most beautiful office spaces I have ever been in. The relaxing decor, including large scale fountains and plants, immediately eases any anxiety you might have about being at the dentist. I tend to arrive early for any meeting or appointment but I'm extra early to my appointments at RDS so I can enjoy the ambience of the expansive lobby. They also have massage chairs you can chillax in before or after (or both) your treatment. They offer spa amenities during treatment including an eye massage machine and aromatherapy. None of this would be meaningful however if the staff wasn't equally as impressive. Not only is Dr. Thomas the most knowledgeable and dedicated dentist I have ever had, she is genuinely kind, caring and I always look forward to seeing her because she's just a delight. All of the dental professionals at RDS are thoughtful, highly skilled and wonderful to be around. The front desk staff are incredibly helpful, efficient and friendly. All of the equipment is the best and newest technology. It's truly an elevated, upscale dental spa. To address "upswells" for deep cleanings, I needed deep cleanings and more frequent cleanings when I first came in, I even had a laser treatment at one point. Over the course of 2 1/2 years with Dr. Thomas and her team my gums improved and healed and I only get regular cleanings twice a year now. For those that find going to the dentist difficult or if you just want to make it a more pleasant experience, this dental spa is for you. Relaxing office space with a selection of included perks like a warm lavender scented neck wrap, warm blanket, or moisturizing gloves (among other choices) while you have your appointment. Dr. Thomas is also a great dentist and the hygienists are great too. They do occasionally try to upsell on certain things as many dental offices do, but it's no pressure to accept. They did save me $ and help with my night grinding problem though. My prior dentist charged me $130 out of pocket for a night guard they made in office, which when I switched to Reflections learned was really inadequate to solve my problem. I would never recommend this office to anyone I know and had the absolute WORST experience here possible. I regularly get cleanings and visit the dentist, have excellent insurance and am in my early 30's and was told I needed multiple gum grafts, $7,500 worth of Invisalign and would need to pay $200+ out of pocket for cleanings here WITH insurance!! Never in my life have I ever received such inaccurate and dishonest recommendations for unnecessary work and given my suspicion, I got a second and even third opinion from honest dentists who confirmed my suspicions. They confirmed I definitely didn't need gum grafts and my teeth/gums were in great condition. I also had braces as a teenager and received a much more honest ortho estimate from Dr. Gary Greer for only the minimum necessary work to achieve my desired ortho results for a fraction of the price (with insurance covering more than half). Will never be back and would not recommend this place, it's run more like a used car sales lot than a dental office. read more

I went to this place hoping to do my regular cleaning. I did the x-ray with Dina and she explained about my teeth condition after that she'll do the cleaning but suggested deep cleaning. I don't have problems with the deep cleaning as long as my insurance cover it. Finally Doctor came & explained again about it. After the doctor finished explaining it, Dina said it's done for me and asked about the cleaning, she said no as it won't do any good. What the heck I'm wasting my time by driving there! The front office coordinators were so helpful and very friendly. They accommodated me for an emergency as soon as I could see me. I went to see another dentist a day before because one of my front teeth crown fell out and the dentist sent me home with no tooth and said I had to come back for a crown. Dr. Thomas helped me to temporary glue my crown on (until I could make an appointment for a real crown feating) the very same day. I still can't believe the other dentist didn't do anything to help me and had me walk around with no tooth for a whole day until I found Dr. Thomas. She was so helpful very smart very friendly and I felt really comfortable with her and her assistant, Rosie, she numbed me on the upper front gum area which is extremely painful to get numb but I did not feel a single pinch from her injection. If you see I refer to only the billing side. It is indeed a sad state that a Yelp review is what gave us your response when no one from the billing team has taken the time to respond despite multiple calls and emails, and even bringing to your attention. While a refund is appreciated , we will revert with an update based on the estimate from Cigna on the contracted price. (Note it is not just this billing, it would mean all the billing was charged at non-contracted price) Just as a friendly note- would appreciate if you encourage your team to respond even if they are working on it. Sometimes, keeping customer/patient informed is all it takes. To all others reading- I agree the dental treatment provided by Dr. Thomas and her team of aestheticians was fair. Let me first say I don't trust dentists. I had a horrible experience about 7 years ago and it really left me feeling skeptical of most Dentists. But THIS OFFICE is amazing and I completely trust Dr. Thomas! This isn't just a dentist, it's an experience! The office is the cleanest I have ever seen and they go out of their way to bring you comfort during your visit: massage chairs, aromatherapy, blankets, TV, whatever you need. Dr Thomas is administering invisilign for me. My whole family goes here now and we live it so much, when we moved to Discovery Bay, we chose to just commute in. The kids feel totally comfortable here, even after my son had to have some dental work done. That's says something for a 10 year old! Dr. Thomas and Dr. Vassilopoulos are kind and proficient. However, the unprofessionalism of their billing department is unacceptable. I had a procedure completed in March of 2023 and paid the exact amount I was asked to pay at the time of service. One year later in March 2024, I received a statement saying I owed over $300. There were no details included in the statement, just a balance due. I called to ask why I owed money and why no one told me during the past year. I was told the prior person doing the billing was no longer with the company and didn't correctly handle accounting issues. I asked for a complete accounting statement showing my charges and payments to be sent to me. I also asked to speak with the owner - Dr. Thomas. I received the statement showing charges and payments six months later, on 9/19/24. I never received a call back from Dr. Thomas or anyone else in the office. Waiting a year to bill a client is negligent. Waiting another six months to provide the requested information is also negligent. I hope Dr. Thomas changes her administrative operations to match better the professional image she is trying to create. read more
