He has helped with many things for both me and her. Getting her to 'out' a tug or ball - something that numerous trainers have struggled with for years (including flyball instructors and schutzhund trainers who deal with that very regularly) quickly, efficiently and permanently. Which doesn't seem like a big deal, unless you've ever met my Lucy! He has Helped her to focus on me, and helped me to encourage that properly. Ring entry, attention, my own form, all of it really. We spent a stressful afternoon searching and eventually took a chance on BKLYN Petsitter. If you're in the same boat, stop looking. Richard is great. Richard (the sole sitter, despite the corporate-sounding name) is easygoing but also professional. It's a comforting combination and one that we appreciated after a couple of earlier attempts with more well-meaning but gypsy-like sitters. We're cautious, maybe even a little paranoid, about who we give apartment keys to but within five minutes of meeting him, felt reassured. We've had no hesitations about leaving him alone in our home since our return that first week to an apartment that was exactly as we'd left it. In our opinion, he is incredibly trustworthy. It's been two years and Richard's sat for our cats almost a dozen times - often at the last minute because we're so bad at planning ahead. Sometimes it's been for one night, others a week or more. We have no complaints, so finally got off our asses to leave a review. Despite being skittish and a nervous wreck when we returned from trips using other sitters, our one persistently neurotic cat has thrived under his care. She's usually lounging on the ottoman when we return, instead of hiding behind the desk and needing to be coaxed out. The other cat was on a medical regimen for months with as many as 3 different meds taken various ways and at different times. No problem for Richard. On return, our cats have always been healthy, clean, sociable, and remarkably relaxed. Richard's laid-back persona reassured us when we first met him and carries over to his behavior with our beasts, who treat him like one of the family now. He's kind to them, competitively priced, always there when we need him, cleans the litterbox, and can be trusted with our keys. Seriously, stop looking.

I have never used a cat sitter and I have had my cat Felix for five years. I finally had to hire a cat sitter and I couldn't be happier with Richard. Before I went away, Richard came to my apartment to meet Felix and me and I was immediately put at ease by his gentle and caring nature. As for the visits (I do 2 a day), Richard does exactly what I ask, and the best part is that he texts at every visit to let me know how Felix is doing. I have used Richard twice so far and I will definitely be using him in the future. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Multiple times he has gone above and beyond. One specific instance - I mentioned that my dog was having some anxiety issues, and next day Steve brought some aroma candles to calm him down. He is also generally good about sending info about issues in our neighborhood - recently about the canine influenza going around. It is nice that he is local, he knows the area and the best places to take our dog. Steve genuinely cares, and it is a big relief to have him in our crew. I would highly recommend.

Foxy has been noticeably happier and calmer since spending time with Jamie, and on a few occasions when I've been home when he came, Foxy was so excited to see him and ran over to meet him at the door. Jamie is great about giving me updates on how Foxy is doing, any problems she's having and giving suggestions on things she might like when I'm gone during the day. Grant was the first walker he ever had and was a life saver for us! At the time Rye was a 4-month old puppy struggling with puppy problems (mouthing, potty training, leash walking) and Grant was a hero, patiently working through all that side by side with us. Grant not only helped us with walking Rye but was big part of the reason Rye learned everything so quickly! Grant has good calm energy, Rye responds so well to him, very reliable and very knowledgeable about dogs and dog behavior. I feel totally at ease when Rye is with Grant. The emails after the walk are great. It lets me know Rye is back and safe at home, but also lightens up my day with a little glimpse of their adventures out in the neighborhood. Highly recommend.
